  1. My understanding of this is that they mean the family unit as in the nuclear, reconstructed or same sex family unit. This means the couple or couple with children and not the extended family which would include parents etc. That’s what I applied as and I’ve not had any problems in regards to the composition of my family.
  2. It appears I was right in terms of them working through RFI, I was next in line and they asked for further RFI. So whomever is after me will hear soon.
  3. Argh, problems! Second RFI! They are requesting sponsor proof of British citizenship. My missus is by descent, here dad is British but he was born in Kenya as his dad was in the army. This is what thy sent: Documentary evidence of the date and method of acquisition of the Sponsor's British citizenship, e.g. citizenship certificate or letter from the relevant authority detailing where, on what date and by what means their British citizenship was acquired. Please note that a passport is not acceptable evidence as it does not provide the required information. -2- If you are unable to provide the required documentation please make a Subject Access Request under the Data Protection Act 1998 to HM Passport Office. To do so please write to the Peterborough Passport Office and request the release of your passport details including the Section and Act of Parliament under which you acquired your British citizenship and the date on which it was acquired. You should include a copy of your current British passport and a cheque or postal order made payable to HM Passport Office for £10. anyone else been in a situation like this? SB
  4. Amazing! Plus your son will get to visit, so win win. It does seem as if they are going through them in RFI order. Maybe me next week!
  5. You’ll be informed and it’s a case of a few days in NZ or bali while it’s approved. No need to go that far.
  6. Amazing, huge congrats! I bet you are super excited, bottle of fizz tonight? When/where are you moving? Also, what further info did they request from you?
  7. Congratulations to all who have received the golden ticket in the last few weeks. Tomorrow starts another week, I think people are really optimistic that things should be happening soon. So many of us on the same timeframe since requests for further info, I’m hoping the good news comes thick and fast.
  8. It’s happened I’m afraid. I went for a informal interview for a job and it was pointed out that I had to wait. https://liveinmelbourne.vic.gov.au/migrate/migration-process/australian-permanent-residency-and-citizenship law changed as of June 2018.
  9. Would have been nice to get it sorted but that’s how it works sometimes. I shall be doing the same as soon as PR is granted, I’ve had a little look and there are plenty it seems. Mrs already has a job offer, just needs security clearance. Min a bit gutted about the change in law in regards to citizenship this year, puts my first job choice out of reach for a while, though I might send off a nice letter to the minister to have a look into it.
  10. Amazing, congrats! Bet you’re pleased, job hunting in the near future or is that already sorted? I don’t think I will get mine while I’m here, so looks like I shall return to UK and finish my work contract and move in the summer.
  11. Hey all, quick one, I’m currently in Sydney for a few weeks, do I have to inform anyone that I am here? Hoping to hear some time in these two weeks. any tips would be welcome.
  12. Mine was 16 days ago, which in the grand scheme of things is not long. Some if the signatures show up, some don’t. Very weird. I feel for those who have been waiting for so long, one would think that there would be some way of chasing up stalled apps, people are paying a fortune after all.
  13. I’m resigned to mine being longer, due to it only being two weeks. I think you have a very good chance, seems to be working through submission dates.
  14. Amazing news, congrats. That was very quick, I am currently 2 weeks post further assessment request. Sent the info the next day. Doesn’t look like I get it by next week, so will be flying using tourist visa and maybe have to pop over to NZ to activate the PR.
  15. Looks like us peeps who needed to send further info are in for a bit of a wait. I know some have been waiting an age, I had hoped that it would have been sooner. I spoke to someone who had to wait another four months at the further assessment phase (My Mrs cousins partner)
  16. Yes. Super grumpy one behind the desk. Super grumpy, as though I was putting her out. Lady with the grey hair who did the X-ray was lovely as was the female doctor.
  17. That’s where I went, reception staff are so horrible. Like pulling teeth. Medical staff are nothing short of fabulous.
