    Applied for citizenship: 15 October 2020 Council: Cairns Invitation letter for test received on: 11 November 2020 Test Appointment : 4 December 2020 Rescheduled: 17 November 2020 17 November 2020: test PASSED, application APPROVED shortly after. My partner has applied on the same day, but he still didn't received a test date. It might be because he has criminal records (15 years ago in Italy).

    FREEDOOOOOM!!! Yes! There is a light at the end of the tunnel!!! After 26 months we got our PR! Still can't believe it! I have to say, in our case the complaint worked! First complaint put on March 26th and got notified about the character test assessment on the 8th if April. Put a second complaint 2 months after new medical check was done, on 10th of June, and got our PR today!!! Good luck everyone! Hang in there! There is hope! There is an end to this stressful situation! A big hug to everyone!

    Don't tell me... getting crazy here... Same situation... only we applied in April 2017 They requested new medical checks on 10th of April 2019... still waiting... Tried to ring last week... they haven't even asked for our names or reference number, they just gave us a super generic email where to ask more info.. Useless...

    A friend of mine is waiting for a AAT decision since december 2017/January 2018... she applied for a 187 DE. Still no news at all for her.

    Sorry guys, I went back a few pages but can't find it... What is the immigration number to ring? Thinking about ringing tomorrow as we have been waiting for double the processing time, and over a month from last doc request (medical check).

    Asked for medical checks again... 47 days from request 25 days from submission. .. Still waiting We are thinking about ringing the department and see if that helps... We have been waiting almost 26 months....

    It was a big deal, he was sentenced to 12 months in jail, he did 5 months and then went to rehab! Now he's helping young people that have been through his same troubles!

    No issues with the afp check. My partner has criminal records in Italy from over 10 years ago, that's why it took so long! They sent his file to another agency for further investigation!

    Oh sorry I have noticed only now your comment! I think the nomination is valid 6 months in relation to the visa... you need to apply for the visa within 6 months after nomination is approved! There shouldn't be any issue if you have already applied for it! They went through our file just recently asking for a new medical check, but no requests about nomination! If it was a year and a half ago you will be probably asked to do them again... but it all depends on CO.. Good luck!

    For us it took almost a year for the character assessment. We put a complaint in march and after a couple of weeks we were notified that we passed the character test. Maybe you can try to put a complaint too and see what happens!

    I have no idea about the validity of nomination approval, as MA received the nomination approval notification. About health checks... it all depends on CO I guess... you might need to do them again... who knows! Good luck!
