  1. Pending nomination and/or visa applications will not be adversely impacted by the subsequent removal of any occupation from the skilled occupation lists. If you already hold a skilled visa, you will not be impacted by these removed occupations unless there are changes in your circumstances which require the lodgement of a new nomination application – in which case you may then be impacted. This for example may occur if you are changing your occupation or employer, and your occupation is no longer on the skilled occupation lists. 2. This is what I found, and according to what it states, Medicare is an acceptable evidence of health cover. https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/supporting/Pages/485/Acceptable-evidence-of-health-cover.aspx You can verify the webpage. See what you think. Acceptable evidence of health cover When you apply for your visa, you must either: produce a valid Medicare card or receipt of enrolment with Medicare, or provide evidence that you and anyone included in your application have arranged health insurance in Australia. Providing the Health Insurance Standard Template Letter completed by an insurance provider with your application is sufficient evidence that the insurance meets the minimum level of coverage required. If you hold a passport from a country where Australia has reciprocal health care agreements (RHCA), you might satisfy the health insurance requirement. More information is available at Department of Human Services website.
  3. I shared some replies sought on Department of Home Affairs official FB. These replies normally assist us to understand how they work, although it is still an enigma. And then I wrote an opinion (that yes..no one asked for it, but with no intention to harm). So chill @Synergy22. Hopefully yours comes through as well.
  4. It is not an expiration date, that is the issue. It is only an indication of how long it took them to finalise 75-90% of the application finalised last month. I know, it sucks...but I guess these are the struggles we have to go through whether we like it or not, at the end of the day, it is their country...yes our money but we must adjust ourselves to their requirements. Hopefully yours comes through soon! Everything is uncertain, but every decision we make is a resignition: we DECIDE to come and stay in Australia, that means that for the time being we RESIGN to life stability, until we get the PR and so on. Best of luck. N
  5. I know it is regarding a different PR visa subclass the one the customer service agent from DHA is refering to, but I have seen this reply for all visas/au citizenship relating questions on their official FB page.
  6. "Hi X, The current processing times for that visa is 17 to 25 months. Although this timeframe is not a guarantee or a maximum, it does give a good idea of what to expect as it represents how long it took to process 75-90% of all the applications that were finalised just last month. The status "further assessment" means that you have provided the additional information/documents that were requested and there is nothing more to do from your end at this time. If this changes the status will be updated and you will be contacted immediately, until that time you should continue to wait. Hope your application can be finalised in the near future, all the best." Above is another reply from DHA. Hope it helps. Stay strong!! N
  7. "Hi X , It is not possible to estimate an individual application's processing time. The Department publishes how long the majority of applications that were recently finalised took to process, but it is a guide only, not a maximum or guarantee: https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/about/access-accountability/service-standards/global-visa-citizenship-processing-times" This is their response.

  9. FYI: "Hi X, Many of the checks and balances are automated, there may not be a need for a case officer to be assigned right up until the very end. You are unlikely to be contacted by a case officer or provided contact details, unless the case officer requires additional information. If you receive a request for additional information, the letter/email will contain instructions explaining how the case officer wishes you to respond. All the best." This was a reply given by the DHA on their official FB page. The topic was regarding citizenships processing time, but I have seen the same reply for visa applications. Have a good day!
  10. Hi you guys! Just as an FYI, jump to the Home Affairs FB Page, you can ask questions on their post and normally they do reply with General Information. I keep seeing same questions asked both here and on their FB and I do find it useful. Hopefully we can see more approvals today!!!:) All the best! N
  11. *Note: Skilled occupation list requirements will not apply to TRT stream applicants who either: held a subclass 457 visa on 18 April 2017 and continues to hold this visa (or a TSS visa / related bridging visa at time of application) lodged a subclass 457 visa application on or before 18 April 2017, which was subsequently granted, and continues to hold this visa (or a TSS / related bridging visa at time of application). https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/trav/work/work/2018-changes-of-eligible-skilled-occupations
  12. Then just stay here. Save up money just in case you ever go back to your country. What can be the worst thing that can happen? Stay strong.
  13. Hello everyone, Did you guys see this? "To 30 April this year the Australian government had granted 138,086 permanent visas divided broadly into two-thirds skilled, one-third family (and excluding humanitarian visas, which sit outside the migration program figure). “It’s probably down on where we were this time last year,” a first assistant secretary for the Department of Home Affairs department, Christine Dacey, told estimates last month. Extrapolated to the full year ending 30 June, it appears likely about 165,000 migration visas will be granted." Source: https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2018/jun/13/australias-immigration-rate-to-fall-again-as-work-visa-approvals-drop Hope everyone gets the golden email soon! We are still waiting for ours ? Cheers, Nora
