  1. NSW will be amazing. Went there in 2012 and, for us, it was a toss up between Melbourne and there. Exciting times...
  2. Were going to Melbourne. Flights booked for the end of October! Exciting times but, my god, the preparation is the new stress! Can't complain anymore though. It's heading in the direction that we wanted!
  3. Good plan :). The wait for the visa was hideous. The feeling of it being granted still doesn't even seem real almost a month on! But the relief and having the thought of it lifted from my shoulders...I can't describe. It really was 'life on hold' for 7 months. All the very best to you and your family. Where are you heading again? The cool thing is that I am now using this website to look up where to buy fridges and tips on buying cars rather than when the hell is my visa going to be granted!??
  4. It's funny because in a couple of years time, people will scroll through this thread for info in the same way that we did and think 'bloody hell, some of those guys waited a long time!'
  5. Woohoo!!! Congratulations! I was waiting for yours to come through as I could sense that you were getting as annoyed as I was!! Great news :). Onwards and upwards!
  6. Congratulations! So happy for you. Now you can finally move on. Good luck
  7. Hi Nelly. Thank you! Hopefully this means that within the next few weeks many of you guys will see your grants come in... believe me, I NEVER thought it would happen! We are heading to Melbourne. Our date of first entry needs to be before 20th Feb 2018 which was the date of our medicals. We've booked our one way flights today ???
  8. Ah, you know the feeling well then! Hopefully good news for you any day now
  9. I know! Bit embarrassing that I was having a good old moan about it and at that point in time it had already been granted ?
  10. Oh my word guys. The day has come. After nearly seven months of agonising waiting (close to break down at some stages!) our visa has finally been granted. I am in complete and utter shock. I hope with all my heart that you all receive the good news you are waiting for soon as I know from experience that it is so hard hearing if someone else's grant when you are still waiting for your own. Much love and thanks for all the support and words of empathy of the past few months. I will visit regularly to watch the rest come in ?
  11. I have 80 points and was state nominated by Victoria in January this year. Offshore though. Teacher. Submitted 190 app 1st Feb and been waiting for visa grant for almost 7 months
  12. That's a good point actually...cheered me up ...slightly!
  13. Perfect! That's where i'm heading so any info on suburbs, good schools, things to do for families would be much appreciated. Thanks
  14. It's usually not long to receive an invitation. Ours was 24 hours! Some others are a few weeks. The real waiting starts once the visa app has been submitted!
  15. My husband keeps telling me to stop thinking about it but I've stopped working now, we've sold our house, moved into temp accommodation and it's the only thing on my mind day in and day out! He's still working 50-60 hours a week so easier for him to take his mind off things! I'll have to do some temping/ volunteering or something i think coz i'll go out of my mind with the prospect of waiting 4 - 8 months more!
  16. Processing times have increased again. 75% in 11 months, 90% in 15 months
  17. I guess this is good news for you then really! Hopefully yours should arrive any day now
  18. As far as I know, they're not listed anywhere. I'll do a bit of Googling to see if I can find out...
  19. I've done a bit of reading on this (borders website) and it seems to be all to do with each state filling their places and in order of which occupations they need the most. Aus allocate about 28,000 places to state nominated visas and each state fill them in priority order according to what they need most - not necessarily date order. @Pete_Solihull which state have you applied to? It may be that Adelaide need your occupation more than other states hence the reason why someone else with the same occ has been granted first? If you've applied to Adelaide too however, then that's that theory out!
  20. Totally understand this feeling. I'm pleased for others and every grant that comes through brings us a step closer to our own. But I lodged on 1st Feb and would like there to have been some kind of date order to the processing as it does feel unfair!
