Thank you. Have I ruined my chance of getting visa as messed this up and not got him to submit all sponsor info? Thanks for your help
No, but do it as soon as you can.

Always worth looking into an RRV first …

How much was the total point after removing over claim points?
It really doesn't matter ... the issue is claiming more points than you are actually eligible for.

Alternatively, if you prefer to contact someone in Australia: https://mia.org.au/Web/Web/Find-a-Member.aspx

It’s a legal requirement for the visa grant that the points score as assessed by the decision maker is no lower than that claimed in the EOI. Unless you can make up the points somewhere else, you have a major issue. Get some professional help to make sure that you handle this properly.

I didn’t think you got a NI number until you are 16 or thereabouts. My son wasn’t issued one that I am aware of. Is this a new thing or do they only tell you about it later on even though it’s created earlier? I’m just curious!
You apply for it when you’re 16 (or thereabouts). It certainly isn’t from birth … an NHS number, maybe.

She has a scv 444 visa so apparently I can
The issue is whether she is an "eligible NZ citizen" or not, which is defined under social security legislation rather than immigration law. If she is then it's a 309, if she's not then it's a 461. You don't have a choice in the matter.

Arrive at UK...look at queues. Choose quickest passport to enter, which you then also use to leave.
It's the same queue:
"
There are over 270 eGates in place at 15 air and rail ports in the UK to enable quicker travel into the UK.
You can normally use eGates if you:
- have a biometric symbol on the cover of your passport
- are aged 10+ (10 to 17 year olds must be accompanied by an adult)
-
are either:
- a British citizen
- a national of an EU country, Australia, Canada, Iceland, Japan, Liechtenstein, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland or the USA
- a member of the Registered Traveller Service"

We've lived in the UK all of these years - will I, as his sponsor, also need to get a UK police check?
Yes, you will.
I don’t think I have ever uploaded more than around 40 documents, usually less. You can combine things into logically grouped pdf files.

We have been trying to open a shared bank account as this is number one on the visa approval
It really isn’t “number one”.

The temporary sponsored visa 485 I think can go beyond 45 but wouldn’t convert to PR.
482 I think you mean … yes, no age limit on the temporary visa and there are some very limited circumstances where there are post-45 PR pathways, but you need to go looking and have the right profile.

When I did the ETA last year the question was asking whether you had other passports as opposed to citizenship.
Interesting … the wording for the eVisitor is most definitely citizenship.

Pretty sure Fire Fighter is on the SOL for 187 nomination; as @Marisawright says - definitely worth consulting a registered migration agent.
The 187 was closed to new applicants in 2019, unless they were in a transition stream, which the OP is clearly not.

If you get a 189, you can work at anything you like as long as you can secure the job. No need to stay in any one profession.
Or not work at all if you prefer!

Hi all.
can anyone help with any information on submitting a skills assessment for construction project manager (ANZCO 133111) with a NVQ level 6. It’s confusing with the equivalent AQF frame work and understanding whether or not the qualification, along with 10 years in the position will be given a positive assessment.
“This occupation requires a qualification assessed as
comparable to the educational level of an Australian
Qualifications Framework (AQF) Bachelor degree
or higher, in a field highly relevant to the nominated
occupation.
Applicants must also have at least one year of
highly relevant, post-qualification employment,
at an appropriate skill level completed in the last
five years.”
So, it will depend on whether Vetassess consider the qualification sufficiently relevant and/or at the correct level. If it were me, or one of my clients, I would be asking the question of them directly

Hey everyone
Just a quick question if anyone can help.
I’ve just got a new passport for my daughter and I’ve updated the passport number on my immi account.
Just checking is that all I need to do so that we can leave the country and re-enter without any issues?
Yep … and you should confirm that it’s all done by checking VEVO. Take the old passport if in any doubt.

The initial entry date is the date that you must make your first entry to Australia by. It can be for a short visit.
The must not arrive after date is the last date you can enter Australia using that visa. It may or may not also be the visa expiry date. -
Contact @Alan Collett for a consultation.

I would have thought that the Aus government, upon receiving the details of a foreign passport as part of the application for citizenship by descent, would prevent that foreign passport from subsequently being used to apply for a visa, however I know of people who have managed to get a visa (evisitor / ETA) and were allowed to Australia using the smartgates, so they never even had to tell an immigration officer they were actually a citizen.
Then they have lied on their application forms … you are asked if you have other citizenships and what they are. Australia is not available from that drop-down box.

first, we need to go through an expensive process to confirm our qualifications and a costly language test. Is there a better and more reliable option?
Nope … that’s the way the process works. Depending on nationality, you may be eligible for short term working holiday visas, but these are not generally a pathway to permanent residence or you could look at employer sponsored visas which may offer PR pathways.

As advised elsewhere, sounds unlikely, based on what you say.
