Congratulation ! I am also Marketing in Oct 2017 . I understand that timeline also depend on company turnover, staff number and wages of applicants. Can you share me this information ? Thanks

Hi Tony. Good to put a name to that row on the spreadsheet (I'm guessing that's you on the October sheet?). Just to be clear - I haven't  had nomination approved or even opened yet, I was congratulating someone else.

My sponsor is a statewide not-for-profit human services organisation (non-government but partly gov funded). Around 1,200 staff. And I'm not sure if it'd be appropriate to share turnover and salaries.

    cheers.

    Hi :) I applied on 30 June 2017 as  cook/pastry

we dont have a MA, so if the nomination is approved we can have the possibility to know ?

Who put in the nomination? Whoever submitted nomination will get updated when it is approved (your employer's immi account?)

Fair enough if they applied on same day! but as we all know there is sometimes cases when someone has to wait a year longer! My point is the occupations are already filled by the applicant, they’re here working in that occupation already so why need to fast track? It is what is I know, just saying

They're only already filled by the applicant if it's TRT. Direct Entry people will be waiting to start the job.

Big company in Australia, with an established name worldwide, so my guess is that in terms of risk management, the risk is certainly lower with a well and established company than with a 10 persons company. For the immigration, it's all about making sure that the migrant will not have a negative impact on the finance of Australia (hence the medicals - no immediate impact on medicare, skills assessment, etc).

    But I might be wrong...

Sure, in that sense I’d say it’s more a case of ‘is employer already approved to sponsor’ or not though, to be honest.

Agreed, for an applicant whose employer must apply to sponsor before nominating/at the same time as attempting a nomination, or are smaller and have little history with DIPB, the application could and should be scrutinised more closely.

You might have been getting in to pointy territory if it had been a claim of ‘first-come/first-served’ based on some sort of corporate favouritism lol.

    Hi,

I received my PR yesterday, this is a big relief, and I can certainly feel for the people having waited 1 year or more !

    Occupation: ICT Business analyst

Visa Type: 186 ENS Direct Stream Onshore

    Country: Low Risk

    Visa/nomination lodged: 03/11/2017

    Visa granted: 10/04/2018

I am convinced that the sponsor and complete applications influence the priorities.

If you don't mind me asking - what about the sponsor are you convinced influences the priorities?

I thought we had a Nomination Approval from Jan18 for a second :-P

some good news for marketing specialist applicants:

nomination and visa applied on  20/04/2017

    TRT , Italy, NWS PESE

    nomination has been granted today.

need to do medicals and new police check but the worst is gone :)

    all the best!

    Awesome news!

11.4 months though… still so far away for me if my wait is as long as that!

I spoke to immigration (NSW Pese) and asked this very question - my health assessment expired last week, she advised me not to renew until requested by case officer as the case officer has discretion to make a decision as to whether or not a new one is required. But she very clearly said 'we advise all our of our clients not to renew health assessments until requested to by a case officer". I cannot speak for police clearance certs sorry.

Yep, i think the info above might be a little misleading if i'm honest. I spoke to NSW PESE a few weeks ago on the phone and they said wait to be requested before getting new police certs if they expire.

If they provided that info a few weeks ago and then u-turn on it, it's not going to be easy to reject visas based on that.

    heeeeey!

I'm uploading mine every quarter, i think that's fair! And i'm uploading all payslips as 1 PDF for that quarter if that makes sense? So its just one document for the CO to open!

As i have said it probably is OTT... but i'm a safe rather than sorry kind of girl!

Yeah agreed, same here. i'll do the same.

    Hi Tom,

I've just looked at that link and the evidence in relation to TRT that would need to be kept up to date regularly I've highlighted in green  (Extract from employer nomination checklist from IMMI for TRT)

    • Evidence that the nominee has been employed and actively performing the duties of their TSS or subclass 457 visa nominated position for a total of at least two years in the three year period immediately before lodging the nomination, including:
      • a detailed statement declaring that the requirement for the nominated person to have worked full-time in their TSS or subclass 457 visa nominated position for the required period has been satisfied; covering employment period, 1) details of paid leave taken,  2) details of unpaid leave taken and  3) details of any overseas trips for training/work
      • 4) PAYG payment summaries for the period of employment
      • 5) pay-slips
      • 6) extracts of leave records.
    • If you have not been the sole approved standard business sponsor for the nominated person in the three years prior to applying:
      • evidence that the nominated person has worked for the same employer, in the same role and in the same location for the whole three year period, such as:
        • relevant documents relating to the sale, takeover or restructure of the business which clearly demonstrate that the nominated person has worked for the same employer, and
        • contracts, PAYG payment summaries and evidence of the nominated person's reporting lines to evidence that the nominated person has worked in the same role and location.
    • Evidence that you met the training requirement throughout the validity of your standard business sponsorship (that is, evidence that you met the 'training benchmarks' for each year in which you were approved to sponsor a TSS or subclass 457 visa holder).

REMEMBER THIS IS ALL MY PERSONAL UNDERSTANDING AND I'M PROBABLY BEING SUPER CAUTIOUS!

    Bella

Great, that’s fine. This stuff was uploaded by employer in October when the app went in, and I’m about to upload an update myself showing payslips, salary payments in to bank, superannuation payments etc. So after that it’ll be up to date completely.

What do they actually expect though really, that each fortnight we upload a payslip, bank statement and superannuation statement? Seems a bit OTT. I’m surprised they would refuse visa over asking for this as an update when the case is opened. Otherwise you could be going through that fortnightly process for up to a year or longer, it’d all get very messy in the immi account!

    Hi,

Your company's financials mainly need to be updated.

For example my company completes BAS every quarter so we have updated every quarter BAS on company application and will continue to do this until my file is complete.

If I reach July (another financial year) we will update the company's profit/loss and training expenditure as well as getting a new letter from the accountant...

Basically keeping all the financial documents they request updated- it will also eliminate them having to request documents and more waiting (I'm hoping)

Please bare in mind i don't have an agent- every thing i do could possibly be over the top... but i just do not want to give them ANY excuse!!!

    hope this makes sense!!

Hey @Bellabonkers thanks for outlining, i'd seen this mentioned before but wasn't sure what it was.

Do you know if I’m correct in thinking this applies to DE only applications though?

I’ve just informed my HR contact at work who lodged the nomination, just in case, but when I read the check lists again I’m not sure this applies to TRT nominations:

    https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/trav/visa-1/186-#tab-content-1

See the two DE and TRT specific employer check lists (in step 1 on that page) – DE mentions BAS but TRT doesn’t seem to mention it…

Based on my experience, the truth is that MA are useless. Their service 99% of the time is just document forwarding.

They take long time to get back to you whenever you have a query and they don't seem to wanna do much work.

I'm sure they only exist because there's people too busy to deal with that kinda stuff or too afraid of something going wrong because they did something wrong. I'm both the first and the latter :)

this is why i've never used an MA xD

How strange! I'm surprised they would be so thorough with a big institution. I think my institution has hundreds of skilled migrants on the books or in the pipeline. You sound very low risk like me!

Yeah that is suprising! Doesn't sound like a target for a spot check visit.

I have a colleague who applied as Marketing Specialist in mid2017 (I would say april/may 17, but I'm not 100% sure, so take this with a grain of salt) and got her PR after 7 months. LR, DE, 2 people.

Good to hear. I do think it's hard to speculate on patterns based on job type when we've only got visibility of a few hundred (max) applications in our sample group, out of tens of thousands actually being processed (i also want to believe this as i'm in application as a marketing specialist too ;))

Hi everyone can someone please tell me. I've got an email from my MA. Is this for all TRT applicants or they opened my case.

    Good afternoon

Regarding all pending ENS TRT nominations, and noting the higher scrutiny by the Department more so of late, we advise all visa applicants that, if you haven’t already, you should send through the following information/documents to be uploaded to your respective pending ENS nomination applications at the earliest:

    1. A copy of your bank statement records in support of being paid your nominated wages by your sponsoring company since your 457 employment commencement to date, (please send a print up from your bank just of all bank payments received by you as the employee from your sponsoring employer into your bank account – not a print up of all other bank transactions from your account. Your bank account statement should also identify you as the holder of that bank account the wages are being paid into ).

    2. Evidence of superannuation paid to you as the bias applicant by your sponsoring employer since your 457 employment to date. Note: A letter from your super company confirming superannuation payments made to you but without identifying who is the payer of that super to your super account is not sufficient as the Department cannot otherwise verify that the employer made that super contribution to your super fund.

Nice. I didn't use an MA, so can't comment on others' experience, but thanks for sharing!

They asked my MA for some documents for nomination and we submitted 3 days after the request. As it was 2 weeks ago, I though I could just call them to see if they received it and to see if they need more docs. Tried to be as nice as I can be with them and that paid off in giving me enough information on my application status.

Yeah might be worth a try. Although I'm noticing that docs are requested pretty quickly if anything is missing, but if the app is submitted with all necessary docs it just sits and waits... and in reality I probably still have a long time to wait!

Very promising hearing your story though.

I just rang NSW PESE and been told that WA team is handling my case and gave their contact number. Rang that number and spoke to a lady who was very helpful and detail. She told me that my application is already assessed and waiting for nomination assessment to finish. They requested couple of documents for nomination and we submitted it 2 weeks ago.  28days wait is finished today but she said to wait for another 2 weeks for someone to pick up the file again as they are very busy. Hopefully they decide the nomination soon and send me my golden email.

Both nomination and application logged on 13/10/2017

Nice Kal! We're quite close in submission date. I'm interested to know how that conversation went with NSW PESE for you to get that info... did you just straight out ask them to look for an update?
