Our son is waiting for the AOS phone interview. He is concerned about when the call is likely to come through as he has a very busy work life and some times can’t answer his phone. Can someone who has received the call let me know the number so he can check his phone. I suspect there are many numbers they call from but it’s just another thought!!!

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Bridgie

Daughter in law received a text message to say she would be receiving a phone call but as she was in a meeting she missed both text and call but they phoned again later that evening. It was more than 2 months after they lodged the Aos application.

    Police clearance:

My parents have been in and out of Australia over the last 3 years on a holiday visa, never for longer than 12 months at a time, do they require an Australian police check.

    Thanks in advance 😊

Yes they will need police clearance if they have spent 12 months total in any one county in the last 10years. Like Linda said it’s accumulative.

  3. Hi Greece, My son just set up a normal Commbank  account in his name, I transferred the bond amount into this account. You can't set up the bond account without the letter inviting you to do so, as it contains information and reference numbers applicable only to your AOS bond. He closed his account as soon as the bond was set up. it just helps to be able to transfer the money if you already have a Commbank account. Hope this makes sense. He had the telephone interview and was told he would receive the invitation letter through his mygov account in about 6 days and to contact them if it didn't arrive.

I kinda thought that. Our 600 visa runs out early August 2020, that’s the date I’m working on. Looking forward to the medical on Thursday especially the bit where you suck in your cheeks and blow out through your ears (something like that) last year we took the medical thinking our paperwork would be picked up.....anyways the suck and blow bit was my favourite as my wife couldn’t get it and ended up get very angry with me as I was laughing so much. The doctor we were examined by was more interested in car pool karaoke with James Corden than our exam.....it was surrealemoji3.pngemoji3.png

I don’t think any 2 clinics do the medical the same way.  Ours was very straight forward unlike some people who had to touch their toes etc. Good luck on Thursday and I’m sure you should get the visa before August.😅

Hi, Can anyone please tell us whether can we take CRN number and set up MyGov account in advance of CO email to submit CPV 143 documents?? If yes, what is the procedure? Also, my both children are joint sponsors. Do my children both required to set up MyGov account individually or only One sponsor need to set up?

Hi Greece, I Know you can set up the mygov account on line but don’t know the procedure... both your children need their own account to do the Aos. Both our son and daughter in law had to have an account and both were contacted separately for the interview etc. If you haven’t done so already I would complete the form 80 while you are waiting as this takes a bit of time. Especially if you’ve had a few holidays over the last 10 years or a few jobs since you started to work. Good luck.. Shelagh

  6. Yes agreed it is annoying. This is on topic..... Son and Partner paid the Aos on 26/10 but CommBank staff were very surprised they each received a letter from centerlink with different ref numbers and barcodes to pay the Aos, they had never seen this before. They set up the bond with both lots of information and issued the certificate for them to upload to centerlink. My daughter in law uploaded both barcode letters and all the docs and certificate on each of their mygov accounts to centerlink so that my sons will show all the info of his partner and hers will show all his info so hopefully they won’t have a problem. I will post if they have a problem.... they were told the next stage for the acceptance letter will be around 4 weeks. Hope this helps someone.

Hi Jellybean,do you mean we need to upload the bank request centrelink sent as a financial document as well?

Hi ielectric, As it’s my son and fill that are our sponsors I don’t actually know what the letter looks like but if it has the barcode on it then yes you need to upload that as well. It links the Aos bond to the applicant so without that my Dil was told without the barcode it will not show the bond as being paid. Scary!!

Thanks that’s helpful.  Our SiL wasn’t asked to pay anything just set up three accounts!  I don’t think our Comm Bank in Port Macquarie NSW is actually open on a Saturday so he had to take time off work to go, and the other assurer was overseas at the time.

Hi Rosiejaq, It just goes to show that you can’t rely on anything you’re told... from some being charge $150 for administration for opening the bond account for the Aos and others not. I’m sure we will all have stories to tell at the end of this long stressful experience... but it will all be worth it in the end. Keep us updated with your progress.😍

So once we’ve paid Aos bond set up account etc do we upload everything to MyGov account as not clear! Ta 😎😎

Hi Rosiejaq, Some info my daughter in law gave me last night... she visited the CommBank to ask what she needed to do as centerlink said they will receive the letter on Tuesday to pay the bond. All sponsors for the Aso must be present at the time of opening the account.. it costs $150 regardless of whether you already have a CommBank account to set up the bond account.... the bond will be for 5 years but will automatically be renewed for another 5 years with nothing else to pay.  You need a bankers cheque , cash or a CommBank account that you can transfer the money from.. once you have the certificate letter from the bank you need to upload that with the letter centerlink sent you containing the barcode to your mygov account. If you don’t upload the barcode it will not show that you have paid the bond. My son and daughter in law are going to pay the bond on Saturday as that’s the only time they can go together. Good luck... I hope this all goes well for you.

  10. They were told The paperwork for the Aos should be completed by 20/9 so as they didn’t hear anything by last week daughter in law tried phoning but couldn’t get through until yesterday. Just Incase they had missed the interview or email etc.   When did you apply for your 143 visa. We applied 8/12/2015 and will be going to Adelaide if all goes to plan.

    Just my 2 cents worth...

Lodged AOS with Centre Link 3rd Aug 2019, on myGov the estimated date of completion was 16th Sept....checking everyday can be soul destroying!

3rd Oct 2019 Centre Link sent me a letter requesting a AOS phone interview. The interview was very straight forward they basically just check your personal details... took about 10 mins maximum. The interview was on a Thursday, the following Monday I had a letter in the post to arrange the bank guarantee with Commonwealth Bank...just a note when you go to CBA have $150 cash ready if you don't already bank with them...this is the fee they charge to set up the fixed term desposit account. Make sure you find a staff member who is familiar with the process as I had a rookie (less said about that, the better)!!!

14th Oct Uploaded Bank Guarantee on myGov....You have to upload the centre link letter and bank docs on mygov/centrelink, it's not very clear on the steps you need to follow but use the number centrelink give you for the interview to ask any questions, to be fair CL were very helpful.

So i'm now waiting for CL to inform immigration and hopefully request the 2nd VAC, anyone know how long this takes?

Thank you for all that info especially the bit about opening an account with CommBank. My son also had his phone interview today and was told 7 to 10 days he will receive a letter giving him all the info needed to pay the bond. Then it will be another 4 weeks for immi to issue the acceptance letter.. not sure how long after that before we will be asked to pay the second installment.  Don’t know if it helped or just coincidence but my daughter in law phoned centerlink the day before to ask if everything was in order.. they looked up on their system and told her it showed Active. Then the following day my son got the call.. coincidence or what!!  Good luck everyone. Shelagh🤞

    Bridgie

When we called to centerlink they said AOS handle by outsourced personal and even they r cueless. As u said we r unable to plan anything .

We are hoping to have our visa and be in Australia early April. House is on the market at the moment and we have started the process for importing our dog... which is a six months process so March would be the earliest we could go.

    Hi Jellybean,

Thanks for d response but i could’t see her time line in that anyway i try once again. Anyway what’s your position now.

Still waiting for a response from centerlink for Aos. It would be so nice to know how long we have to wait.... even if it was another couple of months, it’s the not knowing that’s so frustrating. Everyone seems to have gone so quiet.

    Hi Dora,

First of all i would like to thank u for quick response. Our assurer is our son. Orginal application date was 07.12.2015. and called for d further documents and medical on 06th Aug.  ASO was handedover to centrelink on 27th Aug. and he has not received any acknowledgement or a number from them. Anyway i"ll ask him to check d centerlink account as u suggested.

Hi Kari 1, like you we received our email requesting docs on the 6/8/2019 and my son and daughter in law completed the Aos application on the 9/8/2019... they were told it would be completed by the 20/9 but so far have received nothing. They checked their centerlink account and email. I think a lot of us have completed our paperwork and are now just waiting again. It would be nice to hear of someone from October or November that have had their Aos payment request.

Has anyone else compared the price of one way tickets to return tickets.  I did this a few weeks back on the Emirates website and the return flight was actually cheaper than a one way ticket.  I found the same with British Airways many years ago when returning from South Africa to the UK, I just threw away the return ticket.  Obvoisly too late if for those who have already booked flights but could also be worth looking at for the insurance cover problem!

Yes like you I was surprised to find it cheaper to have a return ticket. Good bit of info.
