  1. Ah okay. Thought it was best to check before I lodged my tax return. That would kinda make sense as I heard about it from somebody that is Irish so I don't think they are entitled to Medicare the same way as the English! All this is paperwork business gets very confusing at times with all the different rules for different visas etc etc Thanks for the reply! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Hi! I have been in Australia since May 2015 on a working holiday visa so a resident for tax purposes and now I'm on a bridging visa as I've applied for PR(187 visa) I've heard that the Medicare levy is $900 and that because I have reciprocal health care since I'm British I can claim that $900 back whilst doing the tax return. Can anybody tell me if this is correct and if so how do I go about it?! I was hoping to do my tax return myself rather than paying an agent as without the potential 900 back for Medicare then I'm only estimated $400 back so not really worth paying an agent. Thanks! 3. I've applied but not got the visa yet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I had heard that a bridging visa is the same conditions as your previous visa but saying that I've applied for a 187 visa and I'm currently on BVA as my WHV has expired. my BVA grant notice says I have full work rights and full study rights so I took it as that the 6 month rule is lifted and I've even been accepted to study a course which is more than 4 months (the study limit for a WHV) .. This maybe because the 187 visa is for PR though!? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. There is another forum under the migration section with heaps of people and information. My RCB was approved in less than a week, also WA Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I think it's just luck of the draw, my RCB only took 4 days to be approved and that was WA. From what I remember it said online 20 days minimum but it probably just depends on their work load at the time you apply Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. May I ask how you guys secured a job and the visa application being offshore? I've found it so difficult to find an employer willing sponsor and I'm in Australia. Is there like a website that advertises companies that are willing sponsor people from overseas that I've missed?! Just curious as finding an employer willing to sponsor me was just as stressful as visa application Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Thank you for your reply. It's under the direct entry stream. Oh I didn't realise it would possibly need a new nomination! I just thought we might need to fill out a form of some sort with the business changes on there. Would this mean I'd have to pay for a new visa application again?! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Hey! I've already lodged my 187 nomination and visa (April/may 2016) but just after some advice about my nomination... I work in a pharmacy as a pharmacy technician. When my nomination was lodged the business was owned by one one pharmacist but since the start of this financial year the owner has gone into partnership with two other pharmacists. The other two pharmacists worked here before the partnership and nothing has changed at work since. All the same staff, all the same salaries etc etc but from what I believe there is a new ABN number. The pharmacist that lodged my nomination doesn't think immi need to be informed but I'm having doubts. Should we be telling immigration about the partnership? Maybe I'm just worrying over nothing but I just want my visa to go through smoothly. Thanks in advance! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I saw on here somewhere that were processing applications lodged in October but to be honest I think its just luck how fast they are processed. Have you got a CO? I only lodged my application last week and in the process of uploading the documents. Where did you upload the declaration form for paying for sponsorship? I can't seem to find the relevant 'evidence type'
  11. Yes I agree with you I would much rather pay an agent and have it done correctly and hopefully go through smoothly. I did get in touch with one but he said he wouldn't be able to do anything as he only does the whole application. At the time I hadn't submitted the application but my employer had already nominated me and uploaded her required documents so after what that agent told me I didn't think I had the choice to use an agent. Are you on a 187 visa then? Can you recommend an agent that I would be able to use just for documents side of things? Thanks!
  12. Hi all I've just submitted my 187 direct entry visa this is the timeline so far... WA RCB submitted: 22nd April RCB approved: 26th April Nomination by employer submitted: 27th April Visa application submitted: 13th May Acknowledged and bridging visa granted: 16th May I have't uploaded any documents yet. From reading posts in this forum a lot of people have been asked to uploaded documents by CO is that additional documents to the ones stated in the document checklist? Also do I need to go ahead and get a health check or do I need to wait to be asked? so over whelmed with everything at the minute. My employer didn't want to use a MA because of cost issues so even more stress on me now to do all the homework myself and trust myself that I am doing everything correctly. Any help/tips/advice?
