  1. Hi everyone. I am pretty sure I've mentioned this already but I'm just desperate for some positive comments on people who may have been in a similar situation. I applied for 187 DE, since I applied the abn number changed as my boss sold 40% of the business which created a new ABN number however the business structure is exactly the same literally all that has changed is the ABN number and the name on the ABN number the workplace is still the same name and same staff members (it was two staff members that bought into the business) On the 11th November we had contact from immi about this and now I've just received and email from my MA basically saying that it's likely to be refused. I'm desperate to stay obviously and I can't submit a new application as I'm already on a BVA Blackpool, UK to Geraldton, WA RSMS Pharmacy tech Nom 27/4/16 visa 23/5/16
  2. Pharmacy technician and I've applied direct entry onshore LR
  3. Nomination applied 27/4 Visa applied 23/5 I'm located in WA but my case is with team 4 Vic, Case officer made contact on the 11/11 asking for clarification on nomination details as the business has had to change ABN since we applied.
  4. On the 9th of November the auto email said applications lodged early feb but it's not very accurate as I applied late April and had contact from CO last week.
  5. They haven't actually said what documents we need to send them more so asking why the ABN number has changed. Well I think anyway. I have a print out of what they sent my employer but I'm still shocked that they've picked me case up and just confused with it all. Information overload! Blackpool, UK to Geraldton, WA RSMS Pharmacy tech Nom 27/4/16 visa 23/5/16
  6. Hi everyone, Not too sure why they even sent that auto email out stating they are on feb because my employer had contact from immi today, not sure what team but it was in Vic. Nomination lodged 27th April 2016 and visa lodged on the 16th May. Direct entry onshore (WA) occupation is pharmacy technician. It's not great news this contact as my employer has a new ABN since my application was lodged so they were basically questioning that. I'm praying that everything goes smoothly but sort of expecting it to be refused. So fingers crossed!! Good luck to everybody else Blackpool, UK to Geraldton, WA RSMS Pharmacy tech Nom 27/4/16 visa 23/5/16

    Road trip

Thinking of a short road trip to see parts of Tasmania. I will only have 4 days so realise time is very limited. Will be flying in and out from Melbourne and have no preference to which airport to arrive/depart from. Can anybody share any potential places I could stay and sites/hikes to see and do?! It will be towards the end of January as I'll be spending Australia Day in Melbourne and will be looking to rent a camper van whilst there so will be wanting to stay at campsites to keep the costs down. Thanks
  8. I've sent you a direct message to save filling up the forum with info that isn't directly about the visas! Blackpool, UK to Geraldton, WA RSMS Pharmacy tech Nom 27/4/16 visa 23/5/16
  9. Oh really thanks for that info bit of a relief as I'm sort of expecting to have to resubmit the nomination fingers crossed I don't though! Oh really! Small world hey where do you work? Have you been here long? Blackpool, UK to Geraldton, WA RSMS Pharmacy tech Nom 27/4/16 visa 23/5/16
  10. Interested to know how your case goes. My nominating employer also changed ABN numbers 2 months after my nomination was lodged. The business is the same name, same shop location, same employees it's just a staff member bought into the business (only 40% so my boss that nominated me for the visa is still the main owner) we notified immigration of the change but are still yet to hear from them. I've also lodged my visa so if we do need to re submit a new nomination it would be good to know if we can link the visa application to a new nomination as obviously I really don't want to be paying for a new visa application. Good luck with your application Blackpool, UK to Geraldton, WA RSMS Pharmacy tech Nom 27/4/16 visa 23/5/16
  11. Also just noticed your username... I'm from Blackpool Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Me and my partner made the move from Sydney early this year as he was going to be sponsored on a 187 visa. Before the move we were told that jobs are hard to find and there isn't much going on however I had 3 job offers straight away, 1 of which before I even arrived in town. We were also warned and read online that the town has a bad reputation for drugs/violence which yes it does but what town/city doesn't have rough areas?! It took us a while to 'settle' after living in a busy city but I enjoy life here now, great weather (except windy afternoons during spring) amazing beaches, cheap rent and just and easy life. Let me know if you have any questions Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Hi all My partner and I are looking for some Christmas and NYE ideas. We are currently living in Geraldton and due to only having a few days off work can't venture too far so Perth seems like the obvious choice. Any suggestions of any events or things going on? Don't really want to be spending NYE in a club we find that so over rated and can do that anywhere and any weekend. We are both 25 from England and this is our 3rd Aussie Christmas. Previous 2 years spent in Sydney whilst on our WHVs which was fun as we were with loads of other backpackers. Since moving to Geraldton we don't really know anybody that doesn't have family to spend the holidays with etc plus I imagine gero will be pretty quite, especially compared to Xmas day on Bondi and fireworks at the harbour!! Thanks in advance Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. My 2nd WHV was granted within hours of applying and then when I arrived they took me to one side at the airport and asked for evidence. Luckily I had the form the farmer signed with me but even that wasn't enough I went on my emails showed them my payslips then had to log in to my bank account so they could see the statement making sure the amount on my payslips was the same as the amount going into my bank account! All of my farm work was legit but I was still scared they'd refuse me entry so imagine what it would be like in that situation without doing the regional work! It happened to my friend too and they made him show them his facebook so they could check his posts and photos from the dates he said he was doing his regional work. If you didn't go to New Zealand last time then I'd highly recommend you try a WHV there it's an amazing country or maybe retrain in the UK and try and come back on a skilled visa that doesn't require sponsorship. 15. The hospital I worked at in Sydney had more UK nurses than Australian they were all on 457. It was a private hospital though maybe try that route if they were government hospitals that turned you down. Or try somewhere out of the main cities and go for the 187 visa Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Employer notified them of the change as it's to do with the nomination we haven't had any response from immi yet though so have no idea what the outcome will be. Applied mid April so hopefully not too much longer to wait. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I have a similar situation.. I'm a pharmacy tech and 3 months after applying 187 direct entry the pharmacist went into partnership with another pharmacist (who was already working there) which created a new abn. The old abn is still active but now all wages go through the new number. MA told us to inform immi of the change as it isn't unusual for case officers to ask for more recent financial documents before approving the nomination. Hopefully my application will still be ok even with the business change but MA said the most likely outcome will be that we'll have to reapply under the new abn.. very annoying if so means another long wait before PR and another couple of thousand dollars to spend. Anyway if you simply don't tell immi about the sale of the pharmacy then there's a good chance they will find out and your sponsor should really be informing them of any changes to circumstances. 18. Is it normal for immi to refuse a nomination/visa straight away without asking for any missing documents? I thought they'd ask for them before deciding if it meets the requirements or not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. That's great news! Are you on a bridging visa A? I was under the impression that if you lodge another application while on BVA you will go to a BVC which doesn't come with work rights but I could be wrong. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. That's probably why your file has been allocated in 6 months then. Good luck with the police checks and the rest of your application Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Hi are you a direct entry applicant or are you already on a 457? That's good that you have a case officer already since according to immi they are working on December cases. Maybe the fact you are LR country they process quicker? Gives me hope that maybe I won't be waiting another 4 months like I imagined as my applications were lodged mid April and I'm from England so LR although I'm direct entry so I think those applications take longer to process? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. It's nice reading all these grants, especially since the last couple of weeks have been so quite Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. My occupation is pharmacy technician, it's direct entry route and I'm from the UK so LR. What about you? I'd love to find out before the new year although if my nomination was refused I'd hope it wouldn't be around Christmas time as it would be even more stressful. The wait is hard, I'm onshore on a bringing visa as my WHV expired. I hate being in visa limbo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I applied my nomination and visa those dates too! But I'm in WA. Hopefully we won't be waiting too much longer but since immi are only on December applications I'm guessing we'll have another 4/5 months to wait Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Thanks for the advice I might look into it some more and get some quotes. I got told I can claim $300 for expenses without receipts? Uniform wise I have actually only bought shoes that were $90 I think but have no proof of purchase. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
