    Hi guys,

    New to this forum but hoping to ask some information for my parents-in-law CPV.

    My partner and I lodged CPV143 for them back in July 2015, father-in-law as main applicant and mother-in-law as secondary applicant.

    Good news are the progress of CPV visa progress is getting closer to them. Unfornately my father-in-law is recently diagnosed with terminal illness that unlikely he will progress with the CPV visa after 2.5-year of waiting.

    I just want to ask if anyone else has experience of withdrawing the main applicant from the CPV and making the secondary applicant to be the "new" main applicant.

    I have called the immigration hotline that it should not be an issue as long as we fill a form to withdraw "main applicant only" from the CPV, the remaining applicant will be processed normally.

    However, just want to ask if any other ppl have similar expertise of this. Any information would be appreciated.

    Regards,

    Kam

    So very sorry to hear of your upsetting situation.  Every good wish for the future.

    GOOD NEWS::::::::::::::

    DIBP correlate the processing date

    PROCESSING CONTRIBUTORY PARENT VISAS

    In the 2017-18 Migration Programme year, 7175 Contributory Parent visa places are available for applicants applying from in and outside Australia.  Due to high numbers of Contributory Parent visa applications lodged in May and June 2014, processing time for these is expected to exceed 30 months.

    ·         OFFSHORE APPLICANTS (subclass 143/173)

    When your application is allocated to an assessing officer, you or your authorised contact may be asked to provide more documents, including but not limited to, Assurance of Support (subclass 143 only), police certificates and health clearances to finalise your application.

    We are currently assessing applications lodged up to and including 11 March 2015.

    That's better.  Just 1 day before us.  Maybe will hear something before Christmas!

    I have just had a look at my own private list of parents in the queue which I painstakingly compiled from various sources and have come to the conclusion that all people who applied after 15 March 2015 will probably be "invited to prepare documents etc" while you and all of us in the queue before you will get the email requesting that we submit docs , medicals etc. within 28 days.

    That is just some vague suspicion that I have, nothing is from looking in my crystal ball or anything like that. Although, right now I so wish that I did have that ability.:laugh:

    I am very grateful for this forum for all the support and advice and wish to thank each and everyone of you for all your help. Anyone on here heading for Brisbane / Queensland area?

    @elnak

    I think you are probably right and I keep trying to stay calm and tell myself that it will happen soon for us.   But is it so frustrating when ages ago they contacted people who lodged 3 days after us, and are now contacting those who lodged 6 weeks after us for paperwork.   I see that things have moved on to processing 5th March now, so we are on the move again - just a week ahead of us now.  We are heading out to Australia on Monday for 4 weeks, so in a way we won't mind if takes another couple of weeks for us to be contacted so that we are not panicking out there when we should be having a relaxing holiday!  If we are contacted in a couple of weeks we will book our medicals in UK for as soon as we get home and arrange the police checks on-line while we are out there.  Form 80 ready to go, although I must check if the format I used is still current!

    Hope your application is moving smoothly.  I see you had a good looking doctor for your medical!!

    Yes have just got internet etc. Sorted so haven't been on the site as much, I was watching out for Pertenhall to post as they are before us but might have missed that post. Will keep posting as things progress, hoping to apply for UK and Australian police checks this weekend.

    Sadly no - we still haven't heard anything.  It really is so frustrating.  I'm sure it will happen soon - but in the meantime we wait, and wait, and wait ...........

    It's good to see some are moving - just wish we could get started too!!

    ALTHOUGH WE CANNOT HELP TO INCREASE THE MOVEMENT OR PROCESS OF VISA APPLICATIONS BUT AT THIS PACE IT WILL TAKE ANOTHER 3 MONTHS TO REACH 10/03/2015 & THE WAITING PERIOD WILL SOON BE INCREASE FROM 36 MONTHS TO 42 N 48 MONTHS. VERY VERY SLOW.

    I think you are being a little too pessimistic there.  Although there has only been 1 day of progress this week things fluctuate all the time.  Next week may well see an bigger jump.  We need to stay positive - I certainly am!!;)

    @Pertenhall

    According to the best of my knowledge you were next in line but looks like @MikenC is just 2 days ahead of you. Rooting for you. Hope you will hear pretty soon. Going for medicals tomorrow. Please keep me in your prayers.

    Hope your medicals went well.  I see someone has posted that there has only been a 1 day shift this week - not such good news, but hey one day is better than no days!  Keep me updated on your progress.

    We are off then too! That’s gone up well. We are back end Jan. £ has had a good night last night in Asia. Sitting on $1.75. Might have some more legs in it yet. Difficult to tell. It’s totally Brexit and politics dominated now.

    We're contemplating when to send some money out.  Wonder if the budget next week will have any effect.

    Hi, you can do medicals in Oz and Police check applications on line (which they then post to you)

    Yes - we are definitely going to do the police checks on line from Australia if needs be.  The medicals we will wait until we get back at the beginning of January - just in case there are any problems.  Hope there won't be ...

    Police check can be done online and medical can be done over there at Bupa. Depending  how long you are there for though.

    Yes - we did think that we could do that.  Definitely the police checks.  We started to do them this week until we got to the part where they said we needed to have been asked by our desk officer to start the process!  We can always do that there and we'll think about the medicals.  It would be good too if our daughter has to start the AOS procedure whilst we are out there so that we can go through the process with her.  I know when things do start to happen it will be manic - quite a shock after such a long wait!

    It’ll be interesting to see when it gets picked up. We are not using an agent but if ours doesn’t get picked up I’ve got one lined up! End June for us.
    Keep us posted!

    We are heading our to see our daughter for Christmas at the beginning of December.  Just our luck that the request for medicals, police checks etc will come just as we arrive out there!

    Well, it is a move, albeit small.  Only 3 weeks away from our submission date now!

    We managed to get our e651 while at the check-in desk last year. Husband managed to get his dates muddled and we turned up for our flight with out-of-date visas. Qatar staff at EDI were extremely helpful (This was on a Sunday too). So this may be worth a shot in emergency, to save missing your flight.

    Our first trip out, years ago, we stupidly didn't realise we needed visas and they sorted them out at LHR.  However - it was quite costly.  Hopefully all of us who have applied will get them through in time.

    Word of warning re e651 visa.  Mine wasn’t instant again as in the past 10yrs it’s only took minutes to come through, luckily it only took 4 days this time.

     Last year it took 2weeks but luckily came through 2 days before flight ! Don’t rely on it being instant if you are applying for one allow a few weeks. they do random manual processing and have stated they are getting busy for Xmas period

    I have just answered a query on here re someone having a nervous breakdown awaiting visa for a flight 8nov -applied weeks ago,

    Be aware folks,??

    Thanks for this Kath - we must get onto it.
