  1. Hi Squeak99, How did it all work out for you? I'm in a similar situation, overseas phd applying for victoria nomination for a 190 without a job offer in the state. I'm particularly interested in whether you were given the fast-track 2 weeks processing time because of the phd? How did you convince the state you'd stay in VIC? Did you stay in VIC? Thanks for the info and I hope everything went well !! Cheers Alice PS: The migration agent is quoting me $2,500 professional fees for the 190 application + $1,000 prof. fees for the skills assessment (not straight forward because my phd is in applied economics which is practically just applied statistics but I need to get qualified as statistician because economist isn't on their skills list) + $500 prof fees for the state nomination + $1,000 for the EOI preparation and submission ____ $5,000 only for professional fees for the complete 190 application.
  2. Hello , My partner and I would like to migrate to Australia and are not sure which visa corresponds to our case the best. We would like to buy and operate a hotel/motel in North Queensland (regional) and can make an investment of about AUD 1.5 million. Here's our profile: Me: female, Assesment Level 1 European passport, 30 years old, PhD economics, 5 years experience International organizations, 6 month experience hospitality, IELTS band 9 (Dec 2015) My partner: male, Assesment Level 1 European passport, 29 years old, Diploma Hospitality Management, 3 years experience in hospitality, IELTS band 7 (>6 everywhere; Dec 2015) We are not married and have no children, but have been "de facto" for 5 years. We are unsure of the visa that corresponds to our case the best. If anyone has any suggestions we would greatly appreciate reading them . Thanks a lot in advance and all the best for those that are waiting for visa grants! Cheers, Alice
