  3. Immi is open as a visa got granted 2 days ago. They are doing mainly February
  4. Welcome! Good luck with your application. Tell us a bit about you
  5. Dear 186 visa friends I have a question for you. A friend of mine is on 457 visa as a restaurant manager but he resigned as he got a better job. Now in the new restaurant he wants to apply for 186 DE but the MA said that he has to transfer the 457 visa first to the new restaurant before applying for 186. Is this true or he will have to wait 2 years in the new restaurant before applying for 186? Can he apply directly for 186 without transferring the 457 visa?
  6. Good morning people! Let's see what's gonna happen this week and pray for more visa grants before Christmas.
  7. I think you can. My husband got his as soon as we applied for 187 in march. We were in 457 as well. I applied last week and bupa told be to stop my private incurance as they act like my medicare but now that I have meficare I dont need them. If I knew that in march, that would have saved me $2000 from no needed bupa. Please go to medicare office with your passport and proof of visa application like B V A even if its not in effect and they will order medicare. Then take medicare letter the same day and go to your health insurance provider and cancel. They will ask you for proof of medicare. Hope this helps
  8. Hi guys, a friend told me something last night that I ve never heard before. An immi officer told her boss that the 2 years count from when you apply for your visa not when the visa is granted. That's why we are eligible for medicare. Has anyone ever heard of that before?
  9. Are you serious?I applied 10th of March...was hoping to get it before new year....
  10. What scares me the most is that Christmas is in few weeks and they are gonna get their holidays
  11. Another 2-3 months I would say...depends on your occupation
  12. Oh no... I don't believe that as hospitality is big business in australia. Anyway even it happens it wil be only in new files.
  13. They usually keep you waiting until your wife gives birth and yhe take medical exams and then you just have to add and pay one more applicant for you child. I m not a doctor but as a woman I wouldn't do x-ray while pregnant.
  14. Maviiiiii!!!!!!!! I m so so happy for you! You ve been waiting so long... CONGRATULATIONS Enjoy your freedom in Australia
  15. My MA insists to get aaaall employment references from my country. At this stage I cannot find all of them as some companies have been closed. Does Immi really check previous employment from overseas? I have been in australia 4 years now and I have already sent them employment references from aussie companies.
  16. So sorry to hear that... hope you will find a new job in yhe near future
  17. Oh, I hope this will work for my husband. He has a diploma of management but I think it was less yhan a year
  18. I would say 8-10 months...depends on your occupation etc...good luck
