  1. It has always shown the current processing times, i.e. two days ago it was showing 15-17 months.
  2. I applied one day before you (6th Feb) and got my visa one day before you - so the processing time is consistent at least!
  3. Hi All, Yesterday our 186 (TRTS from the old 457) visas were granted. We submitted the nomination and visa application through a registered MA in early Feb 2018 so its taken just over 9 months which is in line with the official advice at the time which said that the visa were taking 8-9 months to process. So if you applied around the same time don't stress too much about the current processing times of 15+ months. Its weird because I checked the Immi account on Wednesday and the status still said "Received" and then suddenly the following day it was "Finalised" and the visas were granted.
  4. Your medical is valid for 12 months so your original medical will not be accepted for a new application if it's more than 12 months old. I'm currently waiting on a 186 visa (transition from the old 457) and I had to repeat the exact same medical that I had for the initial 457 visa, including chest x-rays, blood tests and a physical check up by a doctor. Hope this helps ?
  5. I totally agree. However in your first post you advised to do the medicals right now which is not good advice. If I were to the OP I'd be waiting 6 months minimum until I did the medicals.
  6. Myself and my family did ours in February. They are really basic tests - bloods, height, weight, urine sample. The check with the Dr. consisted of me sitting on a bed whilst she checked my torso for scars - presumably checking that I still had all of my organs and listening to me breathe. It took 2 minutes for the Drs examination. The longest part of the medical was getting booked in at reception. PS I should add that we needed a chest x-ray also however this was conducted at another company since the BUPA clinic didn't have the facilities to perform this
  7. It's an advisory notice of a system fault. I'm getting it also and I expect everyone else is.
  8. According to the home affairs website 186 visa applications are currently taking 13-14 months to process. Medical documents are valid for 12 months so if you do your medicals now they will be invalid by the time they open your case file and you'll have to complete them again. https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/about/access-accountability/service-standards/global-visa-citizenship-processing-times
  9. Hello all, The 2018-2019 Migration Program fact sheet states that of the 190,000 visas available for the year, 48,250 are designated for the employer sponsored stream. I may be wrong but I would have thought that there would be an excess of this figure applying each year for a 186 & 187 visa. Does anybody know how the visa applications are prioritised within the Immigration Department? Is it simply a first-come first-served scenario or are certain professions moved higher up the list? TIA
  10. Thanks for your responses. I'm just a little surprised that a Stat. Dec. is all we need - it seems like this system could be open to some fairly heavy abuse. It also seems strange that a Stat. Dec. holds more weight than an actual police clearance (albeit 30 months old now).
  11. We did a similar thing but didn't quote the hotel name and instead used the actual address of the building. We were technically staying in an apartment (or so the hotel claimed) so we just stated our address as being: Apartment XXX, 17 YYY Street, etc. This was enough for the RMS and they gave us a customer number so that we could register a car.
  12. Hi all, As part of our 186 visa application my wife and I need to provide police clearances for every country where we have lived in the past 10 years. For the UK and Australia this was easy but we have a problem in that we have both worked in the middle east within this time frame and we cannot get a new police clearance now we have left the country. I say "new" because we actually have a police clearance certificate from when we left but as it is now over 2 years old it is not accepted by Aus Immigration as it must be within the last 12 months. Our migration agent has advised us both to fill out a stat. dec. to explain the situation and to state that we have no criminal record from our time over there. Has anybody else had a similar issue and how did you get around it? Am I concerned over nothing? Thanks
  13. Hi all, My family and I currently have a 186 (TRTS from a 457) application in progress. Does anybody know whether all new applications simply go to the bottom of the collective pile or are the applications assessed/prioritised by individual job category and the number of applications within that category? Thanks
