  1. Hi Elliot, just want to know....what timetable are you referring to? What are you refreshing and some changes happen. Just curious to know. Thanks.
  2. I know the feeling, it's very frustrating :-( I don't know why everything has been very slow. Months ago it wasn't like this....really really disappointing.
  3. Hi Sheila, yes I have already taken my citizenship test last week. It took me 2 months to receive the invite and had my test taken last week with 100% passing. Apologies if I have not given the update. Now it's waiting time for me. I have called the citizenship hotline no. this morning, but I didn't get a good reply from them. They're just going with what is written in the website in regards to the timeline of processing. I am thinking of contacting our local council. They have replied to me before when I asked for the dates of the citizenship ceremonies which is every two months.
  4. I don't know if it's wise to contact the local council for the citizenship ceremony after finishing the test. I was just thinking it can help with the processing of the application as they "may" follow up with the department on the applicants that they can take in.
  5. It is called "Declaration of Service". I don't want this to cause the delay of my application, I'm on my 8th-week from the date of my application; but has not received any request from DIBP. It is not part of the required documents that need to be submitted (from immiaccount) so I assumed that's not part of the application; though I read from Shash121's comment that he/she has been requested for its submittal.
  6. Did they ask you for this form (1399) at any point in time?
  7. Are all applicants for citizenship required to submit form 1399? When I applied online last March, nothing was mentioned about this form? My application will be two months next week from date of submittal but no communication about this form from DIBP.
  8. Same here, 7 weeks of waiting for citizenship test this week
  9. Can anyone with dependents reply to my question please - I want to know, when DIBP started to look/process your citizenship application, will the attachments for the application of your dependents (i.e. your children) disappear? My kids' attachments are gone. I might call DIBP just to make sure that they have received those attachments. I don't want this to be the cause of delay for my application. Thanks.
  10. Thanks for the reply. My wife has been contacted as well for her middle name; however, they stated that she does not need to reply to their email if she is happy that they will include it in her application. My kids application has been finalised in my immiaccount,, just me and my wife are waiting for the citizenship test. Thanks.
  11. Congrats! Just want to know, what other info were requested from you? Is this the reason why your application took very long? Thanks!
  12. It is difficult to know everyone's stand on this matter. I have applied last month (March) and haven't heard from DIBP until now, so I called them up this morning. They told me that they haven't received any instruction yet, but they will inform the applicants should there be any concern.
  13. Waiting for the test appointment is like a dejavu on waiting for permanent residency. Though there are longer threads and exchange of conversations in that forum. I am on my 4th week of waiting for the test date, hope it comes out soon. When I was browsing the citizenship tests, I come across a series of sample questions (for the 21st century style of citizenship test) but they sound silly? Have you seen it?
  14. I have a lot of NZ friends who will be availing of this visa. I am a NZ citizen as well but I have been sponsored by my employer. I believe the costs are the same but I think the processing will be a lot easier using this new visa scheme.
  15. I might be wrong, but my occupation is also in CSOL and I am employer sponsored (visa 186). Initially, I applied for state sponsorship which I didn't qualify. I spoke to my employer and they sponsored me under the 186visa. I am not on work visa as I am a NZ citizen. Check other options, but if your occupation is not listed in CSOL, it may be difficult for you to pursue your application.
  16. Thanks a lot for the reply. Good information I got there. I was thinking of calling the citizenship hotline; however, the voice recording says (something like) they cannot give processing times....Question is did they entertain your query as to when your testing date is? I have a friend from the same region of Victoria and it took him only 3 months to gain citizenship from the time of his lodgement. Hope mine will be next. Thanks.
  17. Hi Mel, the occupations listed in CSOL are normally not found in SOL (Skilled Occupation List). CSOL are normally used for applicants (onshore/offshore) in the regional areas of Australia. You need to have your qualification assessed by the respective body and gain a positive result. A positive result means that you can use your qualification for your application. If your occupation is not listed in CSOL, I am not sure what other ways you can apply to gain residency. Keep your hopes high, there's always a way.
  18. Hi. Does the status in your immiaccount change at all when they start to review your application? Or do you have to check the email for any correspondence from DIBP. At the moment I am doing the same just to make sure I haven't missed anything.
  19. Hi. After reading from this citizenship forum, it makes me wonder why the timeline varies so much from the time an application was lodge to the time that the test date is scheduled. Some get within a week, others take months and others get it within days. My case is that I am now close to finishing my third week. Could you please share what are the reasons for the long wait. Kindly share your experience. Does the status change in your immiaccount? Mine is still "received". Thanks in advance. I am applying from visa 186.
  20. Hi. I would like to know please, is the nomination team different from the visa team? I was just thinking, once the nomination and the visa application is submitted at the same time, can the case officer check the attachments for both applications so that it will be easier for the approval to happen. Though I know that there will be different requirement requested, at least there will be a connection somehow. Can anyone tell me please, how is a benchmark be provided for a laboratory tech? Thanks.
