  1. You sound to me like you kind of have a clear idea of what you want :-). I think, as with everywhere, there are as many jobs as you wish to find. Sure, they're hard to find sometimes, but if you put in the effort to find one and you're flexible, you'll get one. I can't comment on the weather I'm afraid as I haven't been yet, maybe someone else will be able to. If your country is eligible then you can complete 88 days rural work/farm work to get your second year WHV, just make sure you check the postcode and if they're eligible to sign you off. Yes you can work for different employers for a few months at a time. The maximum length you can work for one employer for on a WHV is 6 months. I'm going to start in Sydney and see where my feet take me, but i know some people like to be more structured haha. Hope this helps.
  2. Thanks guys I'm a total rookie when it comes to all this. I'm not overly fussy, as long as I've got a seat haha. Would prefer not to be in the middle of two strangers though lol.
  3. Thanks for all the info guys, it helped. I agree on the back rows, I was a little sceptical when I was told but thought I'd ask anyway :-)
  4. Hi guys, I'm looking to fly out at the end of January and will be booking by the end of July. As I'm booking quite early i might get a good choice of seats. I'm looking to fly Singapore Airlines on a A380. A lot of people rave about the the upper deck economy as it has less seats, more room and so on. I've also heard that if it is a quite flight if you book downstairs at the back of the plane you have more chance of having a row to yourself or no one sitting next to you as the allocate from the front for unallocated seats. I know it's a lot of ifs and buts, but I was just wondering if anyone has any advice for picking your seats :-) Thanks.
  5. I know multiple people that have recently returned or are still out there on a whv that I've recently contacted for advice. They're advice was to keep your options open and like others have said 'hit the pavement'. Some have been able to stay in their chosen city and have had to move, some have been lucky and got jobs there and then, some it's taken a little longer. Everyone's different but I really believe keeping your options open is key and keep positive:-)

Very true . Tried to convince my stepdad to pay for business class for me tonight... he laughed in my face lol. I'm not the spoiled type haha

    Etihad

Part of me wants to blow my money on business class... but we all know that wouldn;t be clever . So i'll be daydreaming too! haha
  8. Haha Aw bless, I never thought I would go on my own but I can't wait now. It'll be loads of fun to share it with someone though  Lol I know what you mean, I hate budgeting!! Not doing too bad at the minute though lol
  9. Yeah just me! I don't want anything too stressful as my job here is pretty stressful, so I want it to actually be a working holiday haha I'm looking to do bark work or cafe work. I just need to pay my way. I'm 25 and have worked since i was 16 in stressful jobs(whilst going through college and uni as well) now i'm looking forward to having a bit of fun with it. :-) Yes definitley save, I've got a budget app on my ipad that helps me track every penny, that means i can see where i'm overspending... I've never been a budgeter before haha.
  10. I'm going to do a two week 'holiday' in Sydney then i'm just going to go where ever my feet take me and look for work on the way. I'm hoping to meet some people, maybe in the hostel or something, that will be looking to do the same. Ah cool so you have a little while then to get all excited about it
  11. Hi there! I'm heading over on a working holiday visa in January next year! Can't wait. When you looking to go?. My visa took less than two hours to be granted!
  12. I'm flying with Singapore one way :-). Why don't you flip a coin lol
  13. I've quite good things about Cathay Pacific, haven't looked into Etihad that much though.
  14. What happened Stacey? Apparently they can be very hard to get through to on the phone. Great on board service though so i hear.
  15. Hahahaa  Yep I can see that happening
  16. I know what you mean. I've been the same lol I believe in gut instinct, which do you feel is the right way to go? You must be in favour of one decision more than the other :-)
  17. No definitely not lol if you're thinking of going travelling after, I'd definitely say one way. If not then return :-). I'm a terrible person for 'what if' but I'm learning to be a lot more relaxed with all this haha
  18. I was exactly the same, should I get a return? It was driving me crazy. But i really think I am going to go Thailand and then there are places in Europe I want to travel on the way back. Whenever I get a bit of extra money in Oz or if I'm feeling a little bit flush(I know that's not going to happen that often lol) I'm going to transfer some back into my uk account. I know there will be transfer fees but I don't mind as I know that money will be out of my reach then I'll have some towards if not all on a flight home. The good thing about travelling on the way back is, as you're going to be breaking the flight up you use cheap domestic airlines for some parts also :-)
  19. I was wondering about this also. Did you manage to find anything out Stacey?
  20. Ive researched this out of my ears lol I'm booking by the beginning of July for January. Everyone I have spoke to have said it's very very rare nowadays for there to be a drop in prices nearer the time. Unless the flight is unexpectedly quite. :-)
  21. Ah that's good. :-) No she doesn't have to use it consecutively but she needs to be outside Australia when the visa is granted, if applying from outside Australia or be in Australia when the visa is granted, if applying from in Australia. That bit can get technical as if she is inside Aus then the visa will automatically activate. It happened to my cousin and she ended up being only able to use 3 months of her visa. Hope this helps :-)
  22. Has your daughter completed her 88 days rural work?
  23. That would make sense lol
  24. I think so too, which is why I was orginally going on Christmas Day this year but there was hardly any accomodation left and what was left was not great and ridiculously expensive. So I thought it would be amazing to see the year out that way :-) Haha i know the feeling, which is why I'm trying not to plan to much now :-)
  25. Ahh bless. It'll all be worth it in the end though :-)
