  1. I don't know if this specifically answers your question but I'm a nurse and got an invite today!!
  2. I'm in the process of completing our police checks for myself and my partner in preparation for our 189 visa. I have a clear record but my partner was cautioned about 11 years for handling stolen goods but nothing came of it and he was cautioned and sent home and nothing further came of it. He has no record of this nor does he remember receiving any documentation. My question we have no details of this caution if he ever did get one and my other question is will this have a huge impact on our application for the visa?? Please help!!!
  3. This happened to me. I took the test 25/06 expected the results I think on the 8/7 but didn't recieve them until 25/7. I just got an email saying there was an investigation but gave no other explanation or when to expect them. It was very frustrating but thankfully I got the results I wanted.
  4. Yes ive done the IELTS and I have just received the results so I'm now in a position to submit the EOI. Having looked at all the supporting documentation it says that I need to submit all transcripts and certificates again despite having already sent this to ANMAC I genuinely thought that by having a skills assessment this would cover this part. I plan to submit the EOI by the end of the week and then do the police checks for myself and my partner on the weekend. Thanks again, I may have to call upon your help again.
  5. @xxlornaxx I think your application maybe quite similar to mine although I guess your completed by now. I have 65 points for age, degree qualified nurse, positive skills assessment for degree but I do not have the necessary years of experience (been qualified 2.5 years). Do I need to complete the 10 years employment history if I am not claiming points for experience. EOI have confirmed that I have 65 points without me filling that part in. Did you submit employers references and payslips?? And if you did, how many years worth. Like I said I've only been qualified for 2.5 years but worked previously in many administrative roles. Also so is it worth completing the form 80 now even though I haven't got to that point. Do I need to do anything before submitting the EOI. I'm doing it myself so I want to be quite clear wth what I'm doing. Other than a few questions that I have I believe my application is quite straightforward. Thank you, your help is hugely appreciated.
  6. I have a question which I'm hoping someone could answer. I started the the process of working towards obtaining the 189 visa about September last year. I am a nurse but have only just been qualified for 2 years so accept that I am unable to obtain points for work experience as a nurse therefore in order for us to get the necessary points we need to get 8s on the IELTS. I have already obtained the necessary 7's required for the skills assessment via ANMAC. I have a received a positive skills assessment which states that my BSc qualification is recognised. The next thing now is sit the IELTS until I get 8. Which is what I am finding difficult. I know that the PTE is a possibility and it's something I may still do. my question is that say for instance it gets to a stage where the time is nearing to be 3 years qualified which would give me an additional 5 points would I need to re-submit an ANMAC application for them to recognise my work experience in addition to my qualification. Or how do you go about getting your years experience recognised?? please help!!! thank you
  7. I appreciate the advise from yourself and @wrussell and whilst I intend to consider my options, cost is a huge factor. I had initially received quotes for the entire process but eventually declined the services I wonder if you could give me an idea if the cost for just the submission of EOI and visa (if I'm allowed to ask??) thank you
  8. I have done AHPRA and proved English, done ANMAC, just need to get the visa points and have booked to do the GT. So far I have managed to crack on with everything just doing bits at a time but the lodging of the visa is so crucial I don't want to be rejected after paying the fee xx
  9. yes I did. I have sat quite a few now. I got the required 7's for ANMAC but that wasn't enough visa points. So retaking to get 8's. X
  10. Hello!!! i wonder if I could have some advise please. I am looking to apply for the 189 as a nurse. I am hoping once I have sat the IELTS in March to get the necessary band 8 I will have a total of 65 points. I have submitted ANMAC and I'm awaiting confirmation of a positive skill assessment. So far I have done this without the help of an agent. I plan, when it comes to it to submit the EOI myself but then my question is do migration agents offer a service to just submit the visa ensuring that it is correct and all the necessary boxes are ticked etc. Anybody done this and can someone give me an idea if cost. My understanding is that my application is very straightforward. Thank you you for any help
  11. Thank you!! I'm keen to do it myself but my partner is insistent on using a migration officer it does in some make it slightly reassuring because they can check and make sure the application is fully completed and correct! Can an you explain the process in terms on completing the application and the EOI part because I see on people's dates that they put visa submitted... And then EOI granted... There is like 3-4 months difference?? Thanks again
  12. I have a couple of questions for you nurse girls who are currently in the process!! If I were to instruct a migration officer say beginning of Jan and I have all the required boxes ticked how long is the process from start to finish. Today i I received my results for the academic IELTS which I scored the required 7 for ANMAC but I will need to take the general to get 8 to bump our points up- we are 5 short of the required 60!! My AHPRA application was submitted about 3 weeks ago so I'm still awaiting a decision re: registration. Please help thank you!!
  13. That's really helpful thank you all!! Getting the AHPRA sent off tomorrow then next stop IELTS so I can start ANMAC!
  14. Im a registered children's nurse. I just don't understand the question and what I need to do for it. So I ticked yes. I'm planning to send my application to perth. I then have to start the process for ANMAC And visa but thought I would start with AHPRA with the view of potentially getting a working visa.
  15. Hello!! After months if trying to get letters and certs/transcripts and getting them all signed I am finally ready to send it all off to AHPRA but I just have one question I need help with... q.21 on the form AGOS-40 'do you commit to have appropriate professional indemnity insurance arrangements in place for all practice undertaken during the registration period' I have in pencil ticked yes- but I actually have no idea what this means :err: Is this something I should already have?????
  16. Right ok- thank you. I will look into contacting the examination boards. And I will contact my uni on Monday- having spoken to them before they told me they are aware of the process and the requirements and I will just reiterate to them what I needt. A family member has kindly offered financial support so that we can explore all of our options because initially we were going it alone and we were first off going to attempt PR on 189 but we do not have the full 60 points. I have attempted x2 IELTS tests 1 general and 1 academic I achieved 7's on the general and got 6.5 on the academic for writing so I am really reluctant to attempt the academic IELTS again. We therefore thought right we will just get working visas just to get out there and we will either be temporarily or permanently although it seems a long way round and a bit hit or miss. Alternatively if I get registered with AHPRA I could do the modified assessment with ANMAC thereby omitting the academic IELTS and if need be retake the general test to attempt scoring 8 because I feel that is more achievable than scoring 8s on the academic test. As you can see I feel exhausted just writing this all down so I feel that a bit of help and support with all of this would be beneficial to us. And I just don't want a silly mistake to mess things up!!
  17. Well thank you all again for your help!! I have are a feeling that I'm going to have a problem with providing evidence of my GCSEs because I remember not having the certificates when I applied to university and they accepted a letter from my secondary school saying that I had achieved them and the results because I remember being quoted something like £300 to get the certificates re-issued. Also there were different exam boards for different subjects. Do you think if I found that letter that my school initially typed with my results and then a further letter saying I attended and was taught and assessed in English- this should be enough?? This pharmacological part...? When I contact the university do I just ask them to include this when sending my transcripts? Or do I ask them to write a letter explaining that pharmacology was part of my course? Also so we have recently been offered some money to explore our options with a migration agent...any suggestions from nurses who have used migration services. Thanks again! Lara
  18. Hello there, i have been looking into emigrating to Australia and been reading and posting on here which has been really useful. Having initially decided to attempt to go it alone we have recently been offered some financial support and are therefore considering a migration agent. We would ideally like a consultant that we could meet in London to discuss all the options we have so far explored and would ask if anyone could recommend a few agents that we can consider. I am a nurse and would like an agent who particularly deals with nursing applications. Thank you you in advance. Lara
  19. Thank you @mgreaves that's all really helpful. I did also contact someone at WAGO who was very helpful. So she seems to think that if I provide a letter from each school stating that was taught and assessed in English and hopefully this would be suffice because I went to primary school around 25 years ago so have very little evidence because I didn't take exams. Also I have done the same for my secondary school and college the alternative would be to certify all my certificates (however I don't have actual copies of GCSE cents because I lost them ) How has everyone provided their education and English although I know this is a new part of the form as of August 2015. With thy the uni transcripts do I just contact my university? Or do I have send specific form that they have on the AHPRA website. From my understanding I need: certified copy of passport NMC to send confirmation of registration uni to send transcripts CV and statement of service from work- is there a template? (Sorry to ask I just find the AHPRA website flicks in and out of different links and before you know it you can't be back to where you were?????) confirmation from schools and colleges of attendance anything else??!! Going from everything I've seen its not going to be that simple I'm sure!! Thanks again lara
  20. Hello! I, starting the APRHA application AGOS-40 and I have a few questions- I did try emailing APRHA but they didn't answer any questions I asked! please help..... Section D Q's 6 & 7 In this section do you require both my residential address and place of work and in which order. Question 6 asks for my residential address but question 7 asks for my principal place of practice in Australia-????? What address do I put where? Section G Since qualifying 18 months ago I have been employed by one hospital prior to this I was at university full time for three years and before that I worked within a company outside of nursing which has now ceased trading; therefore I am unable to provide a Statement of Service from them. How do I provide evidence of this that will suffice? Question 17 I believe that my English competency is classed as within the Primary language pathway in terms of providing evidence for primary and secondary education- what evidence do I need to provide to prove this? (My primary schooling was in South Africa over 20 years ago). Also so the part about indemnity insurance...am I right in thinking that the NMC provide our indemnity insurance so I can just tick the box yes? Thank you you again in advance! lara
  21. So I have asked a solicitor friend about getting the court to certify docs and she seems to think that this is a service that is no longer available due to the courts having to cut costs. Looks like I'm likely to pay £90 per document to be certified!!! I did expect this though.
  22. @Charlottehill76 if we go down the 189 visa I MUST get 8 on IELTS. so that's where I'm starting. I have it booked for next Saturday. Fingers crossed. We are hoping to head to Perth. Although having contacted healthstaffrecruitment, unfortunately there is an employment freeze and therefore no vacancies for UK nurses. Our plan B may be working visa or attempt obtaining employment in other states to get a 457. Where re are you heading @Charlottehill76 and how far into the process are you?
  23. Did you apply independently or did you use an agent?
  24. Hello!! I'm scouring threads to get me started on the application process!! @xxlornaxx could clarify....so where documents require notary public certification this can be done by the local court and this should be sufficient for ANMAC, APRHA & visa?? That would be really helpful to bring costs down. @Charlottehill76 what visa route are you going down? I am just starting to look into it all properly after doing research for the last 6 months. I recently took the IELTS test but took the wrong one :arghh: so annoyed at myself!! I now realise that if I want a full ANMAC assessment I need the academic module!!!
  25. thank you Lorna for your advice. I plan to retake the IELTS just to see how I get on. Additionally I have emailed healthstaffrecruitment this morning. I am going to work on putting a Oz style CV together and then hopefully get the process started ?. Thank you again!
