  1. Hi yes it's 189 and I've already done the ielts. I am ready for EOI right now. I may risk it then and wait until the new year to apply to AHPRA. Did you experience any setbacks or problems with Your application? Thanks!
  2. I am looking to move to to Australia October/November next year (2016) and have read a lot of post where the AHPRA registration has taken up to a year... So my question is should I wait a bit before starting my application or get going with it? My only bugbear is that if it comes through quickly then I've wasted a year's registration fee when I know I'm not even going to use it. Also got to send EOI and pay for visa (if/when!!) So I've not got loads of cash to play with!
  3. I assume you have received your LOD now? I sent my ANMAC stuff off on the 8th July and got my LOD yesterday. So only 6 and a bit weeks (and that was having to send another bit of paper work). I was really impressed and a lot quicker than I was expecting!
  4. Hi, I missed out on the 8 I needed first time and seriously looked at getting a tutor until one tutor suggested I look at dc ielts website. It is very useful! I also paid for the extra road to ielts practice tests. The main thing I would say with the written test is RTFQ!!! I think that is what I failed on the first try. Break the question down and make sure you answer all parts. The reading can be a bit tricky but doing the practise tests can help you recognise the bits that try to trip you up. Good luck with it.
  5. I emailed ANMAC and asked them the same question, they advised that as they already have verification from the NMC signing the declaration would be quicker. Just in case someone else has the same situation...!
  6. Hi, I sent my pack to ANMAC for a full assessment a couple of weeks ago and today received my email to say it has been received (yay!). However I could not find my original statement of entry so logged in to the NMC website and printed the one off from there. Apparently ANMAC will not accept ones from the online register (even though it was it was verified by the legal practitioner). They have asked me to complete a Statutory Declaration form to say I don't have it any more. i have rung the NMC today and asked them to resend which they have said may take up to 10 days. What I am wondering is.... Should I just fill in the declaration now and send it.... will that delay things in the long run whilst they look into it...... Or should I hold on for the 10 days now for the NMC one to come through? 3 months is long enough to wait for one bloomin letter, don't really want to delay things any further! :nah:
  7. Brilliant thanks. Reassuring that I won't get pipped at the post!
  8. My occupation is still on the list (hurrah!) but only has a ceiling of 1000, which doesn't seem very many. Is there somewhere to view last years ceilings and when they reached them. Just sent off my qualification assessment which will take about 3 months. So looking at submitting EOI around October time. Just wondering if it is likely to have been reached by then...

I am no expert, but I've just done the same thing and I believe they state that it must be your line manager that completes the reference. Like you I wasn't too keen on them knowing but they've been lovely.
  10. Well done that's fantastic! How on earth did you hold off checking until now?? I was up all night Thursday checking!!
  11. Hi, i am in the process of collating my documentation for ANMAC. The checklist specifies a certified copy of everything except marriage certificate. Has anyone sent a certified copy? I'd really rather not send the original to Canberra!
  12. Hey Cazwilkins, you can view them online, on their website. You just need your ID number (ie your passport no if that's what you used) and your candidate number on the day. Hope you did well. I this was my second time, I really didn't want to go back and do it but I got loads of info from a great website, if any one wants help google Dominic Coles IELTS, helped me more than the Road to IELTS.
  13. Thank you! (I have to confess that, because I was up half the night checking, I did do a little relief cry when I read them!)
  14. Eeep, just got them finally and I did it!!! L 9.0, S 9.0, R 8.5 W 8.0!! Over the moon! ANMAC here I come!
  15. I think I am going to be the same. Writing was my downfall last time. If I can at least get a 7 in writing then I get apply to ANMAC and the do the PTE, but to be honest I'm not sure I'll get the 7, keeping everything crossed! Spoke to Sheffield centre and they reckon there has been a problem with their upload, told me to try again in a few hours.... Not quite frustrating enough!
  16. Has everyone else got their results? I've entered my details (and I know I've done it right because I've taken the test before) but it is saying results not found...?
  17. When you say you've booked again for the end of May do you mean you've paid as well, so if you pass you've lost that money? Obviously if I have to do it again I will but I can't really afford to pay for a test I might not need (but probably will!), saying that I had to wait 6-7 weeks for this test when I found out I hadn't got the score I needed because they were all booked up...
  18. Yes, I thought the questions were the same for part 2, obviously not, just the same sort of question.
  19. No, it was about television.
  20. Hey, I did it in Sheffield. Did you do academic or general? Can I ask what you made of the writing task 2 question (I think it is actually the same for both). I have a horrible feeling, now, that I didn't answer the question correctly. I was really happy with my answer in the exam it wasn't until I walked out and went over it with my husband that I think I've answered the first part fully but only partly answered the second part. Any advice anyone? It's my 2nd time and I got all 8's apart from writing 6.5 and think I've done the same again. I can't do PTE because ANMAC doesn't accept it.
  21. Got the results of my 1st attempt at IELTS last week... speaking 8.5 listening 8.5 reading 8.0 writing 6.5..... Bugger! Can anyone recommend an online writing tutor that will mark and offer advice for improvement on practice essays?
  22. Hi, I'm in the middle of completing my AHPRA application form, in order to prove my English language ability they are asking for 5 years of f/t equivalent education taught and assessed in English. I have my degree certificate and my academic transcript for my university education for 3 years. I completed a part time course as access to HE, so I'm guessing they don't want that...? But do I need to get a transcript of my GCSE years from my senior school or are my GCSE certificates enough? Thanks
  23. Hi, another proof of identity question... Can I ask what you used as proof of identity and what you ticked for category A? If I am using my passport for A, would it be "overseas passport with current Aust. visa? I am assuming that bank account details - credit or ATM card will not matter if it is from the UK? Also is PAYG payment summary our P60? Not quite confused enough yet...!
