  1. I'm sending my AHPRA registration form AGOS-40 in the morning, all being well! I have gone though it again and again and had others check it too. Last minute panic then, is there anything that others have been contacted about that was not filled in correctly or not enough information sent? I'd quite like to get registered before we get there; our flights are booked for the 8th September to Adelaide so there is some time but not lots I appreciate! Thanks for any advice!
  2. Happy days! Direct grant recieved today. House being valued tomorrow, still a bit of decorating to do to bring it up to spec but good to know what we're looking at. Then it's on the market in the new year and flights booked for October (one way initially, but will add return on if the house isn't sold just to validate) and off to Adelaide! My sister-in-law, brother-in-law and 2 nephews out there are just as excited as us!
  3. How fabulous! Congratulations! Have you got much to do before you set off?
  4. Hey Ceri, congratulations on the CO! What kind of extra info dis they ask for if you don't mind me asking? Is it true they allocate CO's in alphabetical order? But is that per month or by date of application? Just interested, I know it will happen when it happens!
  5. Well that's it... everything done and up loaded (with the exception of form 80, which I don't think we'll be asked for - but never say never!) Had our medicals done in Manchester on the 27th and they were uploaded by the end of the day on the 28th. ACRO checks arrived today. Yikes, seeming a bit real now.. Just a waiting game now.
  6. Thanks everyone that's brilliant, can start booking activities now.
  7. We have our medical booked for Tuesday in Manchester and have decided to make a day of it. We want to arrange something for the afternoon but can't without knowing how long we will be in there for. There is myself, my husband and 11 year old son. Can anyone tell me how long theirs took? Thanks
  8. Yay, just paid, lodged and front loaded documents for 189 - midwife with 65 points. Going to sort police checks tomorrow..... I'm sure I read that we should wait until we are assigned a CO to book medicals because we need a reference number, is that right?
  9. Thank you, that's what I thought. I just don't want to give them any reason to be picky or delay things!
  10. Hi, just scanning my documents ready for uploading. I have read on the boarder.gov website about the file types so I know I can use either jpg or PDF. My scanner is a bit too smart(!) for me and automatically puts document to PDF and pictures to jpg. Will it matter if my application has a mixture of both or will they want me to stick to one file type? Sorry if this is a stupid question!
  11. Yep got my invite! My brain was working on it being Friday tomorrow so was not expecting to hear today, so I've only just seen it! I think I prefer it this way though... I wasn't checking my emails all day in a nervous panic!
  12. Submitted our EOI this morning! 65 points for 189. Fingers crossed for Friday but not worried if we not invited until the next one...
  13. We are ready to submit our EOI and I think I will get an invite first time (or second round) My husbands passport will expire next year (before we intend to go). Should we renew it earlier before starting the visa application or is it easy enough to do once we are in the process? Many thanks
  14. Hi, in August I submitted a Registration of Interest for registered nurses and midwives application through the SA Health website. At the time I submitted it I had sent my qualification details to ANMAC but not received my LOD so I answered honestly - No. I assumed I would be able to update this once I had received it but I cannot find a way to do this or how to contact them (unless I stay up late and ring, costing me a small fortune!). Does anyone have an idea of how I might change it? I'm sure it won't make a difference and I wouldn't hear anything either way but I'd rather know it's right.
  15. First time round I got L-8.5 S-8.5 R-8.0 W-6.5 (I used the road to IELTS practice material) after further practice with the website L-9.0 S-9.0 R-8.5 W-8.0
  16. No way! You have to enter the date and test number to submit. It's really not worth it.
  17. I can totally sympathise, I did the same on my first test (also needed IELTS for ANMAC) I contacted English tutors in my area before my second test. The one who got back to me was unfortunately away on holiday when I needed her but suggested this website http://www.dcielts.com/ . It was my saviour! Broke it down and made it clear. There are loads of help websites out there. Good luck x
  18. I think they do allow for most of those differences but if you take a look at Dominic Coles IELTS website he breaks the marking down and gives useful advice on what they are looking for.
  19. Thanks everyone, we have no intention of lying or trying to hide his Aspergers just didn't want to bombard them with statements until the appropriate time. If his Aspergers isn't likely to come up in the medicals when will it be disclosed? Thanks.
  20. We will shortly be submitting our EOI (yes we have everything else ready) and will obviously be having our medicals.I have previously posted that my 11 year old has Aspergers but is very high functioning, required no support at juniors, although is just starting seniors this week but as far as I am aware will not be getting any extra support There either. He is meeting national targets and exceeding them in others. His consultant has discharged him and written a supporting statement as to how high functioning he is. His junior school has also done the same.My question is; when we go for the medicals should we take all this information and statements or wait for it to be asked for (for fear of looking too desperate!).As we have not yet submitted our EOI, should we considering having our medicals first - or would this make no difference until reviewed after submission of visa application?Hope this makes sense....
  21. I've found it now. I can't get used to the new website...
  22. Hi, is there a list somewhere for when the invitation rounding dates are and the cut off for submission? I have looked and googled but can't find what I am looking for. thanks
  23. There are 2 options for skills assessment with ANMAC - the full assessment where you do need to complete IELTS. The modified assessment is when you are already registered with AHPRA (NMC equivalent). As Lorna said, I had to do IELTS to get enough points for my visa application anyway. So basically if you don't need the IELTS points for the visa and you don't want to go through the test again (I had to do it twice and hated the whole process, not sure I could have done it a third time!) then you could look at registering with AHPRA first, which you will have to do in the long run anyway.
  24. Yes. I am ready to submit my EOI right now.
