  1. Thanks Jac2011, where does it state that? Stupid question but am I completing the correct paperwork; Application for general registration for internationally qualified nurses and midwives? It's just typical the afternoon I decide to sit down and work through things the AHPRA website is down for maintenance!!
  2. Does anyone know if ANMAC now accept PTE? On their website they only mention IELTS and OET. I only took the IELTS last week, but I am not very confident that my writing part will reach the score I need. I didn't really like the set up of it all (especially the way the staff treated the test takers, I think the 'power' had gone to their head a little!!). I think the PTE will be much better suited to me, but it's no good if ANMAC don't accept it...
  3. Hi, I was just wondering the same thing, can anyone advise? Category A requests proof of identity documents from one of the following: Australian passport Overseas passport with current Aust. visa Australian birth certificate Current Australian visa Australian Armed Services papers Travel documents with Aust. visa Australian citizenship certificate I don't quite understand how to apply for AHPRA before ANMAC or at the same time when you have to have completed ANMAC to get a visa? Thanks
  4. Hi, we're about to apply for Visa 189 and I came across some old posts by accident regarding Aspergers diagnosis resulting in possible refusal of visas. This is not something I had considered before being a problem. My son was diagnosed with Aspergers 3 years ago but has never been statemented, attends main stream school, receives no one to one TA care in class. He is achieving the national average levels expected for English and well above the national average for maths and science. the problem with the old posts I've seen have not had a follow up with what happened (that I can see) and obviously there are out of date. I have spoken to his school and they will happily provide statements and evidence of this and his Consultant will back this up too. Am I going to be fighting a losing battle or am I over reacting? (sorry if this doesn't make sense, just finished nights with little sleep!) thanks for any advice.
  5. Thanks Impasse and Ozmaniac. I have looked at the PTE and unfortunately I finish a night shift on each of the days they have over the next month, so will not be in any fit state! But I will bear it in mind if I do not get the level required. One more stupid question (although I am not sure I want to carry on for fear of having my native language scrutinised again at such a sensitive time!) During the listening exam, are you provided with the transcript? It is given with the practice test, but I was wondering if that is just for practice purposes only?
  6. Hi, Sorry if this has been asked and answered before, I searched but could not find it. I have my IELTS academic test booked for later this month so now studying like my life depends on it..! I need to get a level 7 for my skills assessment, but I need a level 8 to get the extra points for my EOI. My questions is; If I only get a level 7 (which is enough for my skills assessment) can I take the general IELTS (or an equivalent) to boost my points for my EOI? Hope this makes sense.... I actually only need a further 5 points on top of what I would have if I got a level 7. Thanks Deni
