  1. Looking at the last available invitation round on April 12: http://www.border.gov.au/WorkinginAustralia/Pages/12-april-2017-round-results.aspx (wow accountant 80pts...) 2633x isn't listed as pro rata occupations, so 60pts is the minimum to get an invitation. But mind you that as of now, it is 951/1000 for 2633x.
  2. My understanding is that Occupational Ceiling is used for the number of EOI. If you have received your invitation and lodged your visa, it should be processed, regardless maxed occupational ceiling. Though this time of the year, there is not much visa grant.
  3. It really depends on your occupation. For instance, I lodged EOI for 261313 - Software Engineer with 60 points in February 2016. Never received any invitation, since the minimum bar for 2613x is at least 65 points. Increased my points to 65 points in January 2017, received an invitation in March 2017.
  4. @joeh99 261313 - Software Engineer with 65 points. Sadly I responded in 10 days, cus getting my national police clearance weren't easy. So notified CO on 14 April. Lets hope for a swift response!
  5. Congratulations! Lodged mine on 29 March, CO contacted on 4 April. Haven't heard anything since then.
  6. Hey guys, I've lodged my EOI back in early February 2016 with 60 points for Software Engineer role (261313). Have not heard anything since then. Should I keep my points on hold or should I try to boost my point (via superior english)? Also, I am wondering if any of you (or heard from anyone) with 2613, 2611 or 2631 are invited with 60 points since 2016? Thanks!
  7. What Bungo said. Depending on the application, it might take considerable amount of time. Partner/marriage visa (subclass 820/801/300) is not applicable as it requires your partner to be Permanent Resident/Citizen. The challenge would have been proofing that you and your partner are genuine. The fact that you want to get married with him this year could waive most of the pre-requisite. But again, please do check with a migration agent.
  8. The Student Visa (Bachelor/Master) > Graduate Visa (while professional year-ing) > apply 189 route is indeed VERY expensive. However, the professional year program waived the requirement for work experience in skill assessment. This is applicable, at least for ACS, CPA and EA. Yeah, I'm afraid what you have mentioned is the only way to go from obtaining the graduate visa.
  9. That is true. You need at least 2 years of study in Australia to be eligible for a graduate visa. But this is to assume that OP is going to take a Master.
  10. easiest option for IT grad is pretty much: Student Visa -> Graduate Visa (doing professional year) -> Apply 189 Visa. The professional year program will waive the working experience requirement when you are doing your ACS skill assessment. With an Australian degree + professional year, you should be able to achieve at least 60 points to lodge in your EOI for 189 visa.
  11. Hi, Please refer to the partner booklet: https://www.border.gov.au/FormsAndDocuments/Documents/1127.pdf You'll have more understanding as to what to write. As for the statement: "You and your partner must each provide a statement regarding the history of your relationship, including: • how, when and where you first met; • how your relationship developed; • when you decided to marry or commence a de facto partner relationship; • your domestic arrangements – how you support each other financially, physically and emotionallyand when this level of commitment began; • any periods of separation – when and why the separation occurred, for how long and how youmaintained your relationship during the period of separation; and • your future plans. The statements written by you and your partner can be on ordinary writing paper or a statutorydeclaration form may be used. Each statement or statutory declaration must be signed and dated by theauthor." Hope this helps.
  12. Hi, Your occupation would have been under 2613 category, specifically 261314 - Software Tester, given your experience. You'd want to apply for Post Australian Study Skills Assessment in ACS. My understanding is that you need to obtain an Australian Degree in IT + 1 year of working experience in your field. However, without the qualification you need 8 years of working experience along with a suitable Recognition of PriorLearning (RPL). Reference: https://www.acs.org.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0020/7319/Skills-Assessment-Guidelines-for-Applicants.pdf By any means, I am no expert in this, but I highly suggest that you seek a registered agent to sort you out in this matter.
  13. Hi fifthyeight, I did ACS Professional Year Program on Feburary 2015 till December 2015 (including 3 months internship). 2-4 weeks after the completion of professional year, you'll receive all the necessary handouts so that you can lodge in your skill assessment to ACS. Mine took 2 week-ish. Have not done my visa yet as I just lodged my EOI today.
  14. Allow me to join the train of EOI. Pretty much the same scenario as DJM^ Subclass 189: ANZSCO code: 261313 Occupation: Software Engineer Points score: 60 Date of submission of the EOI: 02/02/2016 I'm ready to wait
  15. Hi, Thanks for the reply. I'll keep that in mind. I better practice more as I am really disappointed with my score from practice test. Results: Practice test A Listening 65 Reading 60 Speaking 60 Writing 68 Overall Score: 63 Aaaand after an extensive amount (9 hours) of study.... Practice test B Listening 72 Reading 58 Speaking 58 Writing 73 Overall Score: 65 Will be having my real examination tomorrow. Hoping for the best :GEEK:
  16. Just wondering for the PTE test takers, particularly with the "Repeat sentence" and "Retell lecture" sections... Any ways of opening/getting Windows Notepad/textbox while the recording plays? Obviously I have trouble with repeat sentences in practice test and I was using my laptop's notepad, since I can type faster than what I wrote (gibberish-art).
  17. Your CCNA Certificate would be useful when you are applying skill assessment through ACS. This assumes that you have all the necessary requirement such as skilled employment. Also, assuming that your BTEC IT Diploma in Networking was recognised and completed in Australia, then you are eligible for additional 10 points. edit: ref http://www.acic.com.tw/files/7PDF/points-tested-migration-fact-sheet.pdf
  18. wait, so your CO told you that it was not necessary as you had not left Australia since the old police clearance?
  19. Hi PomsInOz-er, I am planning to be my partner's dependant for Temporary Graduate Subclass 485 in February 2016. One of the requirement is the police clearance certificate from my home country which I spent most of my time growing up there. I already possessed that certificate: translated and certified copy 1.5 years ago. BUT issued on July 2014; expired on January 2015. I have not been back to my home country since 2013, do I need to get another police clearance from my home country again? I have been searching through some discussions but couldn't find anything specific. Cheers
  20. Hi Chris, Looking at your role, it resembles more of 262111 - Database Administrator or 262113 - Systems Administrator rather than 261312 - Developer Programmer As per ANZSCO Descriptions: https://www.acs.org.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0018/7641/ANZSCO-Descriptions-2015.pdf But do double check with your migration agent.
  21. Hi rammy, I wish I could! Best IELTS result for now: 8L, 7R, 7W, 9S I am claiming 10 points from English proficiency. I only did 3 IELTS so far and as far as I'm concern, getting an 8 for each bandwidth would require a whole lot of preparation. Judging from my current skill, I would not be able to achieve at least 8 for the writing component, hence my alternative for partner skill  Hi Joy, Yes, we are both in Australia. My 485 visa expires on 3 June 2016, while her student visa expires on 16 March 2016. Depending on how fast the invitation would be, I would probably suggest her to get a 485 visa if necessary.
  22. Hi Joy, Absolutely. I am planning to apply EOI 189 with 65 points, along with 190 NSW state sponsorship for 70 points. I am not eligible for QLD state sponsorship as Software Developer position requires 5 years post qualification. I am absent of such working experience, particularly in the software developer position as all I do is merely freelancing. Though other than NSW, QLD and VIC, I did not looked at other state requirement. Fortunately, both of our occupation is present in NSW occupation list: Software Engineer (261313) and General Accountant (221111). We do not mind residing in NSW for 2 years. We would think of it as opportunity and experiences. My point rundown at the moment: -22 years old, 25pts -IELTS 7 each, 10pts -Bachelor of IT, 15pts -Australian Study, 5pts -Professional Year, 5pts Total: 60 point, exclusive partner skill/state sponsorship Her rundown at the moment: -22 years old, 25pts -IELTS 7 each, 10pts -Bachelor of IT, 15pts -Australian Study, 5pts Total: 55 point, exclusive partner skill/state sponsorship
  23. Hi Joy, Thank you for your swift reply! Glad to hear that these are sufficient. We had a talk with the Brisbane Registry and that we are eligible for it. As per your question, unfortunately she is not in the position as the main applicant due to the amount of points required for Accountant (70 points, since 26 August 2015). At the moment she only possessed 60 points, inclusive partner skills. Hence, I would really think that I should be the main applicant
  24. Hi PomsInOz-er I am going to apply EOI under 189 and 190 by the end of the year. I am currently 5 points short and I am considering the partner skill option. My girlfriend is an accountant with decent english and positive skill assessment from CPA. Me and my girlfriend have been in relationship and living together for 1.5 years. But we do not have any hard evidence. We lived in an apartment under my father's name, meaning there's no lease document issued. We do not have joint bank account, and only little letters coming in for her. I have been paying all utilities, and my car is solely under my name. Other than hundreds of our pictures and our Melbourne trip tickets, we do not have any hard evidence. As such, I am thinking of registering our relationship in Queensland: https://www.qld.gov.au/law/births-deaths-marriages-and-divorces/marriage-weddings-and-registered-relationships/registered-relationships/ Would a registered relationship, hundreds of our pictures and local trips sufficient to prove that we are a partner? Consecutively, I am planning to do a joint account and pay our next bills with that account. Thanks in advance!:yes::yes:
