  1. As of now Computer Network Engineer stands at 65 points. So if you lodged with 70pts, you'll probably get an invitation on the next round or the following. Would you be able to elaborate your points breakdown? edit: Whoops, seems like I read it wrongly. If you already had an invitation and applied your visa since Dec 2016, the point system is irrelevant. All you need to do is to wait for the grant or CO contact. I don't think anyone can predict anymore in this forum and the trend is too vague. But you shouldn't wait no more than this December 2017.
  2. Unfortunately securing a job won't speed up visa processing time.
  3. It will definitely help. Depending on the company, post-internship, the might offer you the job. If not, you'll at least receive some decent record on your resume and referee.
  4. As as graduate, it took me 2 years to get a full time job that I want (software developer). Though I found a full time contract job after 1.5 years, but not in the field that I want (helpdesk). I have no prior experience, only part time in fixing computers. Mostly applied jobs through LinkedIn and Seek. So many interviews, so many high hopes, yet so many rejection. What finally helped me to get a full time job was the job agent that helped me getting the contract job in the first place. It's real tough with so many competitions.
  5. Hi guys, just an update on my case. I've just got my visa granted today. Wish you all best of luck on your visa grants! fun times!
  6. Applied in March, hoping to get mine sorted between Jun-Aug. Now my plans are ruined. i.e. I have to pay the foreign citizen stamp duty for a property that would costs >$50k Though nothing can be done but to patiently wait and accept the new reality.
  7. Accounting - If your degree hits all of the unit as specified by CPA, straight positive assessment Engineer - Not too sure with the details, but some engineers do not require working experience for EA. IT professions - Only if you take professional year program, you're waived and will be granted positive skill assessment from ACS.
  8. Congratulations! Exciting days ahead! From http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Work/Skil#tab-content-2 Under "Next invitation rounds"
  9. Hi Raven, it would be around that time. For my invitation on 29 of March, I received an invitation on 11:21 pm on 28 March (Brisbane time). Most invitation that I've witnessed would be around midnight of the invitation day.
  10. As far as I'm aware of, invitation only given out during the specified date. It's gonna be 12 Jul or 26 Jul this month. Invitations are usually given at midnight (00:00) of that day. Hope you receive your invite soon!
  11. hmm just have a quick read and there might be a concern from https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/485- Might want to seek a professional advice from an agent. Looking at your post, it seems like you're off-shore. I've always been on-shore, so I've never experience such thing. But yes, if you and your partner's visa granted, you would be able to work full-time without restriction.
  12. Seems like grant is starting to roll, let's hope for the best
  13. Yup, I did, twice. Once in 2014 (Graduate work stream) for myself and another in 2016 (Post-Study work stream) for my partner, while I'm her dependent. It's pretty straight forward I believe. You can find all the info here: https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/485- Any particular issue you're experiencing?
  14. Invitation date and visa grant date should differ. Invitation typically happens twice a month, whereas visa grant date happens on almost daily basis. DIBP should've rolled out visa grant by 1st of July (As per 2015 and 2016 stats), but not too sure what's hindering them. Haven't seen any visa grant till today (as per tracker and other forums). Though fingers-crossed that we should hear something this week.
