About passport application, real cases of my friends in 2015-2016, once you get invitation letter of ceremony, then you can immediately book a passport interview the next business day after your ceremony, don't worry about '10 business waiting period'. But you also can wait 10 business days if you don't need to go abroad soon after ceremony.

Move focus to another important things. ps, I just wanna if possible, once approved at the end of October, I can be allocated to one of any other councils within this year. Each of neighbour councils has a ceremony every month from Oct to Dec. It could be my final chance in this year.

Hi, "recent 5 months processing time of tests in June" is said by the DIBP representative who answered me yesterday morning. What he explained to me is that 'recent 5 mths of debating new policy bill' has a significant influence to applicants who did tests in June. He thought that 'the only thing you tests in June can do is keeping waiting. Once approved, an official mail of approval letter will be issued and sent to your home address. If no this so called new policy debate, June tests can be processed within a normal period, not this too long period.'

The new policy is the announcement of so called new policy since 20 April. He explained that due to so called new policy, recent 5 months processing time of tests in June (applicants who logged applications before 20 April) has been influenced be longer than the normal processing time. No any new processing time, recent half year is just an abnormal or special period. Just this info. What we can ONLY do at this stage: Waiting with extremely PATIENT

DIBP answered: for tests in June were obviously influenced by the new policy, need to wait longer than normal time. The only thing I suggest you is to wait with patient. Called 830am until 852am queue the 1st to ask.

I plan to call DIBP again, should be the 3rd time within 5 weeks, hope get a patient representative

So, it may mean that so called processing is paused in this month, may re-start in Oct? Hope so

In Melbourne, from 1 to 19 April, total 8 applicants: you Felix and popeye8101 received the Approval letter. Rest 6, we are still waiting for this letter. My twice called DIBP with a 3 weeks interval: two calls one answer: in processing, may not too long.

Thanks, Felix. I also think China is HR. I called DIBP on Friday, 15 Sept, answered: still in processing. It's really ridiculous, I thought if they pending Sheila and us cases? The only thing I can do is WAITING.

Thanks Felix. Is P.R.China HR? should be...around 3 yrs applied 187 visa, totally got it after waiting for 172 days from the lodgement day. Citizenship shouldn't be as strict as PR processing. Once this week passed, it will be the end of first 100-day after interview. Xmas is also coming soon...

Last night and this morning before waking up, I dreamed that received the letter just a A4 sheet with double side printed...few seconds, woke up Just a dream, I still lay on bed...

Once this Saturday passed, the 100th day completed, a new 100-day period coming soon

Please visit passport office website to start an urgent application, you will be charged an additional fee which should be the half of original application fee of passport (that's 1.5 times original app. fee) Best wishes Elliot

I reckon it is due to so called April new policy announcement and DIBP waiting for parliament final decision. For we applied bf 20 Apr, DIBP staff just slow down (also due to staff layoff. ps, applicants who are in Perth and Sydney may the fastest within this nation, Mel is always slowest... wanna cry

Hi mate, please be patient at this moment. I passed test on 22 Jun, today is the 87th day after test to wait for the Approval letter.

Yes, he asked my passport number and all required demographic info to verify then told me those sentences...

News update: I called DIBP, a gentleman answered me with patient: 1. My application still in processing, need to wait, may not be too long...... 2. About my local council's preside over ceremony been revoked by DIBP, I may be allocated to a near council which has more population (applicants) waiting for ceremony, or I wait message from DIBP to directly allocate me in Mel CBD or not. My comments about this enquiry call: Overall, good attitude with patient Still wait for the letter with a strong psychological quality and PATIENT! Nothing to be worried about ceremony venue

Yep, I just worry about if we are merged to the neighbouring council or Mel CBD, plus each of councils original people, may be longer ...

For my scenario, am I waiting for further ceremony invitation letter from City of Melbourne, or they are still discussing with DIBP to re-arrange?
