My memory is a little hazy as it was a few years ago, but I'm sure I was given a list of things that I needed to be aware of, like "responsibilities of a citizen" which included the passport issue,
It was on my citizenship test...

Update which may help anyone else in this position in the future, my son's RRV was granted on 24th January with one year travel facility.
Thank you for the update. I read the story at the time but didn't have anything to contribute, but it's great to hear how it panned out.

I am going to apply for my Citizenship next month!
I have lived in Australia since 2019, I become PR in Feb 2023. For my PR visa, I provided a UK police check. This this police check was issued I have not left Australia.
Would I still need a new UK police check please?
Thank You

if they find something they need to check further do they stop the application or do they carry on and check it all?! I’m hoping the later!
I have seen people been requested multiple documents. So I would assume they check it all.

Medicals were all done today in Manchester. Nice and easy - the Doctor was great with our two kids. In and out in about 2 hours. Everything seemed to be okay and he said there were no issues. The bloods apparently take 48 hours to check - I'm sure all they test for is HIV( can anyone confirm?) We then went for a celebratory Brewdog just down the road!!
I also had mine done in Manchester in 2018. They wouldn't tell me how mine went!

If anyone can direct my to a really good lawyer or anyone that deals with Human rights commission please let me know.
Timing is key here. You need to speak to a new, good migration agent. There are plenty on this site who come highly recommended.
I don't believe any human rights have been breached here. Spend what time you have to focus on the best short term outcome.

Why did they cancel your BVB?
They didn't. The OP was on BVA and applied for BVB. However, the application was still in progress and they left the country. As they still held BVA and left Australia it was automatically cancelled (as stated here: https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/bridging-visa-a-010#About). leaving them without any active visa at all. The BVB application will now be refused (if it hasn't already) as there is no active BVA in place.
QuoteIf your BVB was refused cos your BVA had been cancelled, why was the BVA cancelled?
As above

UK banks are extremely strict about proof of UK address when opening a new account and I know that's due to UK banking legislation, not a choice by the banks. H
Opening an account in the Isle Of Man gets around this but they use the UK system.

Those days when people say it's 40 degrees, they're pointless; that's way too hot. When I first got there I remember sending my mates a message saying "41 again today", it was a novelty. Once that wears off, and you're left to deal with your day-to-day life, you realise 40 degrees is pointless. You can't do anything in it other than look for some respite..
I agree to a point. But humidity comes into this. A 40c day in Adelaide is manageable and isn't that bad. In Brisbane it's a lot harder.

Now two months in and still waiting.
Waiting iit something you need to get used to. I was waiting just short of 2 years from application to grant for my PR.

The warm weather started quite late this year. When it did here it wasn't here for long or hot at all. Previous years it has been much warmer for longer. It seem's you came on a "bad" year.

@JetBlast Then why would they say that processing time will be within 90 working days?
This is a retrospective processing time of past applications. It isn't an indication of the future.
I applied for an 887. The processing time was 4 months, it took me 2 years....

Turns out I am an idiot driver and I have been fined for speeding! I have paid up and no further action.
I plan to apply for Citizenship next year, I assume this won't have an impact? Would I need to declare this on my application please?
Thanks

At this time of the year the quotas are usually full. On the new financial year (1st July) they are reset and processing resumes.

baggage handling at the airport not the airline to blame.
Baggage handlers are usually employed / contracted by the airline. Very few staff actually work directly for the Airport.

It depends on the state and even local area. House prices have started to drop in most areas but there are some exceptions, Adelaide for example.
You might struggle to get a mortgage whilst you're in your probation perod.

I didn't have to wait too long. I was granted my 887 visa today!

I came across someone who dumped all their winter clothes. Don't make the same mistake. It does get cold here!

I am part of a Facebook for 887 applicants. People share when they get their grant. it seems recently they have suddenly started to process 887 visa's. Good news! However, I am now more frustrated than ever. I am a single applicant who applied in June 2021, my application hasn't been touched as is marked as "received" in the immi portal.
Meanwhile, several other people who applied in September and October 2022 received their grant today. I was trapped in Australia during COVID, the borders opened and I had a short window before my bridging visa kicked in again trapping me in Australia. I understand I need to wait, but other people who have been waiting a fraction of the time (4 months compared to my 20) have been processed. It's just a massive kick in the teeth!
Does anyone know what's going on and why this would happen please?

In the late 2010's I renewed by British Passport and used it right away. The find the eGates software hadn't been updated in work with the new issue British passport. Oddly enough it worked fine in Australia and the Netherlands... I had to use the standard manual desk.
