Hello good people So my partner has a student visa until July next year, plan is to lodge partner visa application June/July. My understanding from this is that she will then have fulltime work rights (provided completes requirements of the course) on a bridging visa until decision is made on partner visa. However, mates partner (also from Brazil, high risk country?) took one year to have decision and provisional partner visa through from application. Would she be able to come in and out of the country on the bridging visa or would it only cover her if stays here throughout? Thanks!!!!!

Hi guys Someone told me that you cant become an Australian Citizen if already a dual national, any truth to this? With the whole Brexit thing I was thinking of grabbing an Irish passport but if I am British and Irish could I still get my Australian Citizenship? Is there any kind of limit on Nationalities for UK or Australia? Thanks!!!

Thanks Had suspected as much A quick google suggests that the admin fees might be around 1k a year? Does it cost a decent amount to get it up and running? I swear the useless shites must lose me 1k a year so if the startup costs arent horrific could still be worth a look perhaps?

Have only been in the country a few years and dont have loads of superannuation or anything but is so annoying watching it constantly go down. Anyone know if its fairly straight forward to get your money out of a bank run fund and into some shares or if its even possible? Cheers

Got my grant today!!! Timeline..... Nomination = 18th March Application = 2nd April Both granted = 8th July 186 ENS, Recruitment Consultant, British, living in Sydney. Was processed in the Perth office

How does the threshold thing work? Presumably all the case officers arent going to down tools, so maybe everything just sits with them and until 1/7

Nice! Mine is same profession, employer nomination mid march and application beginning of April. Got my VETASSESS back, medical and police checks back in october, hopefully not all that far away....

Now lodged..... 186 Direct Entry Nomination Lodged: 18.03.15 186 Direct Entry Application Lodged: 02.04.15 30 year old Brit, only applicant, onshore, done medical and police checks October last year Got them everything except proof of family attachment as birth certificate was unabridged, got a full one in the works....

I have a positive vetassess back already and have done my medical, got police checks back, got my stuff JP signed and filled out form 80 Just 2 different MA have told me to do 2 different things Basically i want the PR through as fast as possible so am wondering whether to submit the application now or after the nomination is approved?

Just got confirmation that they have received my 186 direct entry nomination yesterday. My employer used a big firm MA to put together the nomination and submit it, they reckon chuck in the application ASAP and the whole thing will likely take 6 months. Friend of a friend MA who is helping me with my DIY application reckons wait till the nomination is approved and then do the application. From reading this forum it looks like i should get the application in ASAP and then expect to wait anywhere between 10 - 25 weeks. Have done medical, police checks and filled out a form 80 already. Anyone know whats the best approach?

Afternoon So my new job are doing the direct entry PR as soon as i start, but was already due back to UK for 3 weeks in December and dont really want to take any more time off plus the Medical Centres only seem to do the medicals 8-6 Monday to Friday. Currently I am on garden leave so would be really handy if I could get it out of the way now. Anyone know if its possible to have one done in the next few weeks and then use it for my application that hasnt started yet? Or do I have to wait until everything is submitted and they issue me a HAP ID? Thanks!!!
