  1. Thanks, I shall look into this in the next few days. Thanks for the advice!
  2. How did you go about getting your medical checks and police checks done, is there a specific type of check/medical you need?
  3. When on my working holiday visa 3 years ago I lived on a farm just outside of Albury. I can definitely recommend it as a place to live. I'll be paying a visit to my old boss as soon as my 190 visa is granted myself. So might well see you out there!!!
  4. Thanks for the advice! Feeling a little apprehensive now!
  5. By how much have the quota been reduced?
  6. Have you been assigned a Case Officer? and did they request your police and medical checks or did you just send them?
  7. Hi Melissa. My old boss runs a farmstay in regional NSW. They didnt pay any money. But I got all my board and lodgings paid for, they even put petrol in my car! so if you're after living with a family? (It sure helped me feel less homesick) Then I'm sure they'd help you out! I'll probably be back out there myself then. Once my PR Visa comes through! If you're intrested I could put you in touch with them?

    Ielts

What kind of score are you required to get for your IELTS? I recently sat it, and as English always was my worst subject at school, failed at the first hurdle! I scored a 7 in my writing and 8's and 9's in everything else! I needed all 8's!!! I'm a chef at a public school, and enlisted the help of one of the teachers there, who gave me 3 two hour lessons on my writing, and law and behold I passed 2nd time. scoring 8, 8, 9, 9. A lot of what he told me was think about what you are writing, and don't use the same word over and over use synonyms and antonyms and display a wide variety or vocabulary and you should be fine. Don't Worry!
  9. HI I lodged my 190 SA state sponsored Visa on 6th May 2014. In terms of timelines how long is it till I hear something? I've not yet been assigned a CO or had Medicals/Police checks done. I hear that there was some kind of delay and backlog, with today being a key date for numbers of visa being granted. Will I shortly hear something? I'm hoping to emigrate ASAP! Anyone else in a similar position?
  10. Pretty sure they don't check convictions for a WHV Kyle, so you should be good. let us know how you get on?
  11. Both mine and my girlfriends at the time took about 3 days. And I don't know of anyone that has been rejected. Just as long as you meet all the criteria. Although I know of someone who was deported because she forgot which farm she'd worked on for her second year visa!!!
