  1. That's cool then... I know of some GPs who had to spend double the amount of money as their application for 189 was rejected because of lack of full APHRA registration!
  2. I don't know about specific occupations. But for GPs we have to get our assessment done by RACGP and then registration with ahpra. But we can only apply for PR under special category for GPs once we get our full registration and that only can happen after face to face id check. However, if i don't want to use GP status to apply for PR and just use points (without using special occupation points )then i can do without ahpra registration. So please check about your occupation because for me 189 was impossible without full registration with ahpra Sent from my SM-A910F using Tapatalk
  3. Thank you for the reply. I have my wife and 2 kids (7 &4) also on my application. Do they need police check as well?
  4. If your occupation is on 189 list then you can only apply for 189 after you had full registration with AHPRA which can only be done after you had id check in person at AHPRA office. I am a GP and just had my AHPRA id check and hence can apply for 189 now as I need to show evidence that my skills assessment has been done by AHPRA.
  5. Hi all, I have just submitted EOI today with 80 points. I have already got my health assessment done. Could I get my police check using ACRO website now or should I wait for CO to request that from me?
  6. Hi few of you have mentioned that there are few suburbs you would avoid - could you please name them here so that people like me who are planning to move to Melbourne know about them. Thanks. Sent from my SM-A910F using Tapatalk
  7. PTE is much easier to score and in my opinion much more fairer test than ielts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. Hi Thanks for the reply. I already have an employer and they are happy to sponsor my 457. Doesn't the wait period depend on points? More points mean sooner? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Hi all I'm confused whether I should apply for 457 first and then apply for 189 or should I apply directly for 189. I want to get things done as quickly as possible so I was thinking of 1st option. But my friends said that it usually does not take very long for 189 also. I have got 75 points for 189. So how long should I expect for 189 from visa EOI till grant? Also is it quicker to go through an immigration agent? My application is quite straightforward. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Thanks Iron Chef. Really appreciated. Can I also check my wife's car with you. Initially we were thinking of taking only 1 car but somebody told me that it might be cheaper to take 2 cars because I might save some money in container's cost. The only problem is that it is in our Limited company's name and we both are the only directors. So not sure if it's allowed to take our company's car. I asked few people but nobody could give a straight answer for that. My other concern would be that we will be renting initially so will have problem charging it. So mostly we may be running this on petrol. 13. Hi Beanigan We are also moving to Melbourne this July and I have a job in Epping and my wife has got an offer in Hoppers Crossing. So we are looking to live somewhere in the middle. Where did you end up living finally and how are you finding the school? And could you also give me your opinion on the places now that you have been there for few months? Thanks. 15. Dear Craig, I was wondering if you can help me. I will be migrating to Melbourne in a years' time. I want to buy 'all new Range rover sport' HSE SDV6 model. It costs about £61250 new here & $137000 in Melbourne. I know about 12 months rule so will keep the car for 12 months here before bringing it over. I don't know how much it will cost in 1 years' time. But looking at parkers.co.uk review it costs about £48000 after 1 year. Would you be able to give me an approx cost of importing to Australia and whether it's worth buying the car here or should I wait till I come to Austrlia. Thanks.
