Thanks for the info, I will look into those you have listed.

I am looking for recommendations on who to use for exchanging GBP to AUD. I am a resident in Australia and received money from an inheritance into a bank account in the UK which I want to transfer. I used Moneycorp to transfer funds 10 years ago when we migrated but just tried to sign up online but it says “unable to offer our service” when I put in Australia as place of residence. Any help appreciated.

I use Wex Motorpass for work and you can fill up then go and pay. I always check which places accept the card beforehand on their site as not all do.

You have to attend a ceremony and take the pledge before you are considered a citizen. You will then be given your official certificate.

Have 2 tickets for the Day on The Green concert in South Perth on March 9th. Gold tickets in AAMI Lucky club seated area. Can deliver in Metro area.

We applied for passports on 7th Feb. We had an email notification on Monday saying that they had been processed and they arrived yesterday.
-
Congratulations. We were also among the 16,212 people who became citizens yesterday.

Received an email today. Our council does not have a ceremony in December so the next one is Australia Day.

13 months from application to ceremony.

Your visa should be electronically linked to your passport. We didn’t have an Oz entry stamp on our passports. Details of first entry should also be linked.

I just took passport, birth certificate and bill as proof of address and they took photo copies of driver’s licence and Medicare card. OH had marriage certificate for change of name and that’s all we needed.

Had two or three questions on flags, several questions on Anzac Day and the first fleet, and then government and law. As you get multiple choice answers you can usually work out the correct one. Good luck with your test.
-
No, the questions are one at a time and you have to answer before you can go on to the next one. I did several different trial tests to get used to the type of questions and all the questions I had on my test I had seen before on these.

My OH and I had our interviews and tests on Monday. Checked Immi Account today and OH’s says approved on Monday, mine still says received. Oh well, more waiting time.
-
Sorry, August this year. Three weeks until the test.

It seems to be there is no set timescale as some who applied later others have had their test first. We applied in Perth on 27th Dec and received our test date on Sept 28th for Oct 8th so nine months after we applied.
-
Received our test date on Tuesday, 8 months and 1 day after application. Date Applied: 27/12/2017 City/Council Area: City of Cockburn, WA Online/Paper: Online Date received the acknowledgement email: 27/12/2017 Date of Citizenship Test: 08/10/2018

2 hrs 35 on the outbound and 1 hr 35 on the return journey. We prefer short changeovers.

Thanks for the replies. Just booked return flights to UK for $1,030pp saving $400pp against equivalent flights.

Looking at flights back to UK for next year and Thai Airways have a good deal. Has anyone flown with them recently, how was your experience and what is Bangkok airport like for short changeover times?
-
Just a bump to see if anyone interested.

I have 2 general admission standing area tickets for the P!nk concert on Wednesday 4th for sale if anyone is interested.

Went back to the UK recently and bought a SIM card at the airport. Guy at the counter set everything up for me as my iPhone had been reset to factory settings.
