  1. I declared my conviction on form 80 and wrote a small paragraph next to it to say I was young(16) stupid I was bullied and I reacted in away that was not except able, i have never been in trouble before or since.. I never heard anything about it and I got my grant pretty quickly
  2. Bump this thread in 4 weeks and I'll let you know what the Sunshine Coast is like for chefs. Hopefully I'll have a good idea by then!

    Advice&tips

It's been a while since I was there on WHV but.. Work wise is fine as long as you are willing to do the dirty work (fruit picking.. Farm work etc..) £4000 is loads, that's about 3200ish more than I took
  4. Got my visa grant today. Applied around the 9th November, c/o contact 24th November, visa grant 15th Jan... Happy days
  5. As a chef, I had to provide a first aid certificate to pass my vetassess skilled assessment. Luckily I got one through work so it was free.. However, as the company who provided my first aid training was not a well known company it delayed me getting my positive outcome by about 4 weeks as I had to send them the finer details of the course.
  6. I haven't read through the whole thread... So this may have all ready been covered! But if your a chef, what's stopping you from applying on a 189 skilled independent visa? I'm a chef and that's exactly what I have done, I'm just waiting for the grant now. If this is an option for you then I will gladly PM you my experience of the whole process.
  7. I don't know what you mean?
  8. https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/457-/Temporary-Work-(Skilled)-visa-(subclass-457)-document-checklist-for-visa-applicants Doesn't say anything about PCC but does mention health examinations. I just skimmed through though, so have a read and you might find something .
  9. I don't think it's mandatory, but I'm not at all clued up on your visa as I'm applying for a skilled independent visa!
  10. It's just hard to get your head around the possibility of it being another few months to hear anything. I really want to at least have a month of summer left when I get there. Does anybody know when they go back to work?
  11. My 28 days were up over about a week ago. I don't think that 28 day deadline is something you can judge with a time frame of getting a grant. Even more so if there is something in your application they wish to investigate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I would advise going to NZ or Japan, I worked in Thredbo for a season and on a good snow day it was amazing, but it's just so small. 8 years ago it was 100 dollars a day so I dread to think how much it costs now. Can't say anything about perisher tho as I have never been. Just heard a lot of people say it's really flat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Fingers crossed for us both then. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. So my medical results should of been uploaded yesterday. That was the final piece of the jigsaw I hope. Does anybody know if the c.o keeps checking to see if you have uploaded the extra info or do they just come back after the 28 days? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Monster is an understatement. Imagine trying to do an accurate timeline of jobs and addresses for 2 and a half years worth of backpacking. Anyways managed to do it the best I can. I have my pcc, applied for afp cert, medical booked in 10 days. Fingers crossed

    Info on ielts!!

Yup captain c is correct in the order of tests. I did it a few times at a few different test centres all with the same running order. Don't be disheartened if you fall at your first attempt. It gets easier when you know what to expect the second time round! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Great news. Very fast turn around for us Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. So.. Today I got an email requesting form 80 and a few other bits and bobs. I'm guessing this means I ha e a case officer? If so, thanks little over 2 weeks since submitting my visa Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Mine was lodged in the 6th of November. I've heard nothing Back as of yet. That's a really quick return, congrats
  20. I don't know how you escaped, but Derby fans are usually kept inside Derby for the sake of everyone else.
  21. I'm a chef. I don't do math.. Haha. But yeah, makes sense.
  22. Sure did.. Was a very nice surprise considering I thought they were handing them out tomorrow
