  1. I don't know your circumstances, but you may be able to make the points in the future rather than going through such a long winded process. What points are you getting at the moment, and for what?
  2. It's just practice practice practice!! Best of luck.
  3. roughly 1 month wait based on the current figures.
  4. Soon. My wife is already over there. I have to see out a contract in the UK first.
  5. Yes, a NZ citizen arrives on a temporary residency visa and is limited as to what they can do, what benefits they are entitled to and where they can work. Recently, there has been an announcement introducing a new pathway for NZ citizens to become permanent residents. At this time, I don't know any details.
  6. It's 50/50 whether you'll be asked to provide a police certificate. If you have past convictions no matter how minor they might be then you'll have needed to declare them on the application form. If you declare then it's likely that you'll be asked for the police certificate. If you don't declare, and they subsequently ask for the certificate, then you'll almost certainly be refused the visa and lose your money. Just hold out and wait to be asked for the police certificate, or if you wish then apply for one now to preempt the question. If you don't need one then you've only lost a couple of dollars.
  7. Nothing to stop you doing that at all. Unless they close the loophole in the years until you can do it.
  8. I'd go along with the 30-50k total cost. I've spent well over 30 to date and I'm still in the UK.
  9. No, it's nothing to worry about. The form 815 would have explained it all. The health undertaking is an agreement that you will comply with the conditions. It is often the case that you will not even need to attend a further medical examination. If that's the case then BUPA (who run the medical undertaking on behalf of DIBP) will then inform the department of your compliance with the visa condition. You will need take your completed 815 form with you. See https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa/Heal/meeting-the-health-requirement/health-undertakings for more information
  10. Yes, it's because your medical exam revealed the liver problem. You need to call 1300 794 919 within 28 days of arrival into Australia. They will explain what you have to do next. You must enter before 28th April 2016, or your visa will be cancelled. The health undertaking also explains the delay in getting your grant.
  11. Have you or one of your family suffered from Tuberculosis in the past?
  12. 815 is the health undertaking. That's why you must enter before 28th April. You must register on arrival for the health undertaking.
  13. Multiple applicants do make the process longer in general. They assess each person in an application individually, and if one applicant takes longer to assess than the rest then the decision is not made until assessment of all applicants is completed. Younger children are not subject to such stringent checks on character and employment for obvious reasons, but this changes as children hit the age of 16.
  14. Again, apologies for the absence. I'm very very busy at the moment, packing a house up alone, in between running a ship, and having to go to do some mandatory courses in Amsterdam. I barely have a second to myself. All of you should now have been answered. If not, then please just PM me. Your patience held well.....most of you. Just another reminder to please keep general questions and conversation out of this thread. If you have questions other than asking for an invitation prediction then please post in a new thread. Also, I cannot offer any predictions on 190 visas as they don't follow any particular rule or system. The same goes for 489 visas, which are too unpredictable to make any calculated responses to. This thread is ONLY for 189 visas. Any unrelated posts may be deleted to clean up the thread. Thanks for the patience and best of luck for the upcoming rounds.
  15. Probably 23rd March but you might squeeze into the next round. Also, please don't make multiples of the same post to try to get me to answer faster. I'm very busy and don't appreciate impatient people like yourself demanding my attention.
  16. With 65 points you are looking at a 5 month wait at least. When you get the extra 5 points then you will be invited on the next available round.
  17. I would need the date that you'd submitted the EOI. If you haven't submitted yet then if you can offer a date that you expect to, then I can give you a rough guess
  18. Probably a 50/50 chance to be either 9th or 23rd March
  19. Congratulations! Some people only have 6 months to arrive, dated from the medical.
  20. Took the words right out of my mouth. Determining a persons character isn't black and white. A person who committed a serious offence when they were a teenager and imprisoned for 9 months may get a visa without a hitch, and another who has a series of cautions and arrests in the last ten years may not. A lot of the decision is based on the presentation of the offences and also that they can't see a regular occurring pattern of behaviour.
