I asked this question last year but I'm asking again now its starting to get close the time I need to start collecting my evidence has anyone on here recently applied for this visa?

I would say stay away from Windermere and all towns/villages on its shores. It just gets so busy plenty of other nice and less visited lakes and towns. Just have a look and google see what takes your fancy. Advice from a Cumbrian.

England should top that group no problem. I think Scotland might as well not bother turning up. Wales have a good chance. But I fancy a bet on Northern Ireland to qualify from that group outsiders but I fancy them to do it.

In Helensburgh its £5.50 for a supper but thats with two pieces of fish. I don't know where people are getting these crazy prices from ha.

Im fairly sure it is 3 months in total not all in one go. But there are more backpackers than jobs I'm lead to believe at the moment. If I was you and got a job I would just grin and bear it. So im packing my belongings up as I have sold my house. This is well in advance of even applying for a visa. Is there anything i should be aware of reference how it should be packed etc. Its all going in my parents loft until probably next July and I don't really want to have to re pack it again. Its only my personal stuff books, DVDs and generally just stuff I don't want to get rid of.

Yes but I just like to be sure like 100% . That should be ok then as long as I get them done after I submit my notice I should be good to move before the must enter date.

And is this the big influence on your enter before date do you know?

Thanks for the reply how long do the medical and police check last? (am i right in thinking this is what dictates your enter date?) I submit my notice in July so i be out the very start of next July. I plan on applying at the end of this July. I will very much be trying to get as much sorted before (if) I go away. Thankfully its not 6 months, 3 months away is more than enough for anyone .

Thanks for the advice, i don't know if you read all my posts but the being contactable is sadly probably not going to be possible and I really hope that fact is not going to cause massive issues.

I will point out I stand by my comment that we probably shouldn't have more refugees right now in the UK. Having said that I very much do believe in asylum. Some people in Syria simply can't remain there and intact in most countries with serious problems there will be people who simply can't stay there anymore. My opinion is that right now due to public feeling they should be housed somewhere else rather than the UK. But if as a country we simply decided that bringing people in need in to the country would simply not happen any more ever, well that is not a country I would ever want to be associated with.

When I was on tour a few years ago I had some things made from the brass from spent shells and casings. These are all clearly spent and have all been cut smaller as well. Does anyone know if there is going to be an issue with importing these in my belongings?

Well the government didn't want to take any refugees. Im not proud of us taking refugees as I really do think we have issues that need fixing in the UK and not sure taking more people is going to help. What I am proud of however is that we are the second biggest donor of aid to Syria and the biggest in Europe now that makes me proud.

Well I'am a submariner so I won't even know myself where I will be and I will certainly be uncontactable (not making it any easer I know :arghh:) But hopefully I can sort all this out with the CO and give them my fiancees contact details just incase.

A bit off topic but once you apply for a visa is this case officer someone you can speak to directly about the application and your circumstances. Just theres a good chance during my application I could vanish off the surface of the earth for 3 months. Would be great if theres actually someone i can specifically talk to and let them know the situation.

I see know reason why it couldn't be, there dosent seem to be any kind of risk with it. Plus almost everything made in china has a small packet in the box anyway.

Thanks thats the site I had been looking at I think I was just being a bit slow.

So in the next few months I will be applying for a 300 subclass visa and am just trying to get ahead of the curve. Exactly how do you go about getting the police check done? Google dosent seem to give me a straight answer and Im just trying to work out how much it will cost. I did search but I couldn't find anything on here much help.
