  1. Hi Joe just about identical to what we went through! it's a complete shambles, it,s the last thing we all need after the wait we have all endured. It does happen eventually though! Julie
  2. Hi Sadge i've got everything crossed for you.....hang in there, they must say something positive soon. I'm hanging around the waiting room door until I see you come out with a smile on your face and champagne corks popping! Julie
  3. Hi Lorraine well the extra exciting piece of news is that we have just signed a contract to buy a block of land in Somers (western port) side. we will be having a house built and now move into the house building waiting room! We have been in Safety beach since July living with our daughter, we like Mt Martha and Mornington but unfortunately the housing market is on fire down here at the moment and we just can't get what we want. We,ve taken the plunge changed some of our sterling as prices rising so quickly it makes more sense that way. Good luck with your application. Keep in touch. Julie
  4. Hi Joe Thank you, as you say a rollercoaster ride. how are you and Steve 2 dealing with your ongoing stay in Oz. As I seem to recall you had e600 valid for a year? Julie
  5. Hi Sadge what a worry for you, hopefully all will be resolved very soon. i shall be keeping an eye on the waiting room until a few more of you get let out! Julie
  6. Hi Tien it's a great feeling isn't it? I've just had the best sleep ever in weeks, woke up with a smile on my face and my shoulders back in their normal position. I've been hunched up for weeks! can't wait for your post confirming grant. Julie
  7. Hi Tien when you receive the request for 2nd VAC your letter will say that if you are in Oz you need to go offshore for at least 3 working days so that the visa can be finalised. They ask for the payment to be sent by registered post even with priority this takes 4 days. So we sent our payment on a Thursday and booked flight to leave Oz on Tuesday at 11.30 pm. E mailed PVC with flight itinerary and confirmation of registered post and date sent. They emailed back to say thank you and that providing payment arrived on time visa would be granted on 30th Nov. I have to say I was worried sick that the payment wouldn't turn up but then I have become totally neurotic about everything connected to this visa.....anyway today we have our visa as promised..Good luck, it sure feels great when they tell you that it is going to be granted. Julie
  8. Did someone just slam the waiting room door????? Oh yes it was me on my way out. VISA GRANTED!!!!!!! Whoopee! can,t believe it after all this time, Thinking of you Sadge, Tien, Steve 1 and Geordie Joe it will soon be your turn. Julie
  9. Hi Judy Our daughter supplied 3 months pay slips and previous years tax statement. If you get on to the Dept of Human Services web site you can download an application form and get all the information about docs required. Hope that helps. Julie
  10. Hi Wishfull Your son will get a call (no caller identity) at any time, no notice given. If they can't contact him by phone they will send him a letter asking him to call. Julie
  11. Hi Brenda Great to see someone else in the Mt Martha area, thought I was the only one! Good luck with the waiting I know it is very hard but it appears that things are moving forward now. Julie
  12. Hi Again oh exciting news, we will be down on the Mornington Peninsular so not too far away. Keep in touch and if you would like to meet up when you come over let me know. Julie
  13. Hi our removal company who partner with Anglo Pacific export packed, wrapped and listed our belongings on a inventory (apparently they can do caravans too). They then took everything up to their store awaiting our instructions to ship. Storage is charged weekly and we did insurance through Letton Percival as their rates were much better. We filled in all the paperwork required (not much) and then waited and waited and waited and waited until finally when we got the AOS accepted we instructed our removal company to order the container and get a shipping date. We had had an email back in September from our case officer saying that we would go straight to 2Nd VAC once the AOS was accepted. You can imagine our frustration when Centrelink took over 9weeks to process the paperwork, not to mention the extra expense we have incurred on storage simply because their staff forgot to upload docs. I,m trying to forget the AOS process as I really thought we would never sort it out but unfortunately it's still a bit of a sore point.....nurse says I,ll get my sense of humour back soon ha ha.... Julie
  14. Hi Alan we have just paid the 2nd VAC and have booked our flights to NZ departing on Tuesday night, so I'm propped up against the waiting room door waiting to go......... it's such a relief, we can now get on with our lives, bought a new car and now house hunting. House prices are rising so rapidly here we have decided to take a hit on the exchange rate and buy something now. Shipping container leaves UK on 5th Dec so no pressure to find anything! Feeling so much better now we are about to exit the waiting room. Julie
  15. Hi All After an epic with Centrelink and don't even mention the troubles we had with Commonwealth Bank, we finally got our AOS approved and acceptance letter was collected on Tuesday. The wifi at our daughters house has been out of action for a week now so we hauled the laptop down to the local shopping centre for some free wifi and uploaded the letter to IMMI. Within one hour we had a reply saying pay up please!!!!! Sod's law we just missed the bank by 2mins and had to wait until the following day to send off our cheque. The sun is now shining Mr Telstra has been to sort out the wifi and I can now book our flights to go offshore next week. To all those still waiting good luck with the AOS it is without doubt the biggest pain in the bum and enough to drive anyone to the edge. great to see the date is moving forwards now....... any news Sadge and Tien? Julie
  16. Hi CentreLink have been awful, our daughter applied for the AOS mid September, we are now over 8 weeks and have only just got the letter to go to the Commonwealth Bank. Don't think it gets any easier as the Commonwealth .bank have restricted hours of opening, if your Sponsor hasn't got An account with them then they have to open one. We are having to wait 5 more days so that we can get to the Bank on their later opening hours on Friday. Frankly it's acomplete shambles. If you can get confirmation from Dept of Human Services that they have issued he letter to go to the Bank you can get a copy of this letter from your local Centrelink Office, otherwise it seems to take about 10 days in the post. we are both completely fed up and frustrated by the whole affair and will be glad when it,s all over. wishing you goood luck and hope you hear soon.......you are not alone ...... Julie
  17. Hi Sadge thanks for the info on Comm Bank, our daughter is going in today at 3.45 and hoping that they will deal with this just before closing. Fingers crossed. hope IMMI sort out your health issues ASAP,as you say, fancy asking for money when that is still outstanding....maybe that's a good sign. Julie
  18. Congratulations Moomin and also to your parents. wow we are getting there....... Hopefully we will be posting the same over the coming weeks. Julie
  19. Hi Sadge i was on the phone to Dept of Human Services at 8am this morning ready to make a formal complaint, all guns ready for action, when this very nice lady said, so sorry for the delay, we sent the letter on Friday, if you go into your nearest Centrelink they will give you a copy. Now sitting looking at the letter! Now trying to find a way for our daughter to get to Com Bank they only open 9.30 until 4 and she gets 30 mins for lunch! The lesson we have learnt is that the local Centrelink branches don't have a clue. firstly they did not complete the Identification properly, secondly when the ID papers were taken into Centrelink again (different office) they did not bother to upload them to the Dept of Human Services. consequently we were put at the bottom of the list again. Now feeling like this all might just happen....... how are you getting on with your medical problems, have you managed to sort everything out? Julie
  20. Hi Moomin Thanks for the info, I will call them next week, no reply to my email to IMMI yet. Just feel completely stuck at the moment in no mans land! Julie
  21. Hi Fisher Thanks for checking, I,lol be on the case to Centrelink next week as we fly back from NZ tomorrow. Julie
  22. Hi Moomin so pleased for you and your parents. We are having huge problems with Centrelink, it has now been a month since our daughter was interviewed and we still don't have a letter to go to the bank. She has phoned them 3 times and now they are saying that IMMI must expedite this, I emailed IMMI but not response yet. We fly back to Oz on Saturday and hopefully I can sort things out next week. Does anyone know if Centrelink deal with the AOS's from a central office or is it done by State Office. What's the best way to make a complaint to them? Julie
  23. Hi Amanda Absolutely wonderful news, many congratulations. We have been travelling this path together now for two and a half years and finally you are there! Hopefully I will soon be following if. Centrelink ever get themselves sorted! Now crack open the fizzy, start packing you are off to Oz to be with your family. WOhoo!!!! Julie
