  1. Hi Has anyone known of someone not receiving a visa response in time for their intended travel date? We gave 4 months for the application and we have now been told that my dad might not get a decision in time for the wedding we are hoping to attend. We informed them of our intentions from the start but they don't seem too concerned with the wedding date. I spoke to the embassy today and they said it has happended in the past were people have been timed out in their applications. Thanks Lewis
  2. We are still waiting on a decision with us hoping to travel next month. They do make it a frustrating process to try and get a visa!
  3. Well they state on their website a maximum a month's decision time that is why we were getting worried. Also when I rang the embassy they said it was strange that nothing had been added to his case notes since the 2nd October and they hadn't acknowledged they had received the additional information they requested from us. They told us to send an email to the address we had received the request from. Sorry I only started a second thread because it was different question. Thanks for your response, we will sit and wait.
  4. We have applied for a visa by ourselves and are awaiting a reply. It has been over a month, is this normal?
  5. Hi As anybody applied for a visa short stay visa? What sort of time frame do they ususally take? My father applied on 2nd October and initially they came back asking additional questions anout his criminal record which we answered but we haven't heard anything at all since. I have rang the Australian embassay in London and all they can see on his file notes is the initial questions asked on 2nd October but nothing else. We have sent numerous emails on the advice of the advisor in London but have had no response. Does anybody know who we would be best to contact? As we are all waiting on a decision so we can book our trip and are getting quite anxious. Thanks for any help. 6. Hi I would like some information or advice from anyone who has applied for a visa to Australia with a criminal record. I am looking to travel to Australia with my family next year but my father has a criminal record. He was convicted for 22 months for fraud, serving less than 12 months. The conviction happened over 5 years ago and he has had good behavior since. We are looking to go over there for a family wedding and he has two brothers and a sister living over there who have lived there over 30 years. He has done some initial investigations and has been advised not to try to apply for a visa himself but use an agent. When we have spoke to some we have been quoted £6000+ which seems ridiculous for a 3 week holiday. We are going to speak to a few more people and his family in Australia are going to do the same but if it is too expensive we would probably attempt to apply ourselves. If we did that does anyone know where we would start as I would expect we wouldn't just go along the online visa application route? Thanks in advance.
