  1. Got my grant today as well  after months of waiting!!!!
  2. Gratz sachin24!!! By the way, what is your last day to entry Oz to activate your visa?
  3. You may reapply at any time, but do your homework properly this time. Follow strictly their requirements, do not "think" by yourself. They have a line, you have to walk on it, if you step one step out of the line, you're out. Good luck!
  4. Ummm... Are you sure you are the one that has to to the copies? Or the person who's certifying the copies has to do the copies actually? Because the second option seems much more legit to certify a document.
  5. Yep, actually I got 2 emails, the previous one stating the same, "as soon as possible", the last one giving me the whole picture So, just a few more months left
  6. Here is the official link provided by C/O: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/processing-srs.html Here is the mail: "This application is now decision ready, however at present finalisation is somewhat restricted. Please read below and be assured that I will finalise this application as soon as I am able, but be aware that this will probably not occur until after July 1." So, everything is crystal clear for me. My timeline details are somehow cloudy, because I don't know exactly the date when my C/O was allocated. Applied on 6th of December 2013, got the first mail from C/O on 29th of Jan, medicals done in front, on 17th of December, last documents uploaded on 6th of March. The mail was sent by the C/O. They are from Brisbane, GSM Team 33.
  7. Latest news, for me at least, is that for 190 visas there is a capping, so I'll get the visa most probably next financial year; my file is decision ready (mail got from C/O), meaning that everything is OK, so I have no worries now, as I was planning to go in September anyway. So, I have to get everything ready, and I hope I'll get the visa before 15th of July
  8. Mine just replied that he received all the necessary documents, and the decision will be taken as soon as possible... Dunno what that means.
  9. As I can see, there is an official announcement on SkillSelect webpage: http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/ Hopefully it's not gonna be the case to get worried, but I am delayed as well. Waiting for an answer from my agent as well, question to C/O sent already. Cheers.
  10. Gratz Gary! I uploaded the last documents on 6th of March, waiting for the decision... Waiting is killing me...
  11. You have to pay in front, and everything will appear after that (I didn't notice how long it will take after you actually apply until the list will appear). They will not even bother to check your account if it's not paid in advance. The fee entitles you for the right to have your visa application checked by a immigration representative.
  12. Congrats, my application is still with some papers pending (for the second time!!!), because one of the secondary applicants became 18 years old... more papers to send... May I ask you your country of origin?
  13. Well, don't forget they had a holiday for 2 weeks during December-January, which, in my opinion, delayed greatly the processing of the files.
  14. The new list of occupations, valid from 24th of February can be found here: http://www.canberrayourfuture.com.au/portal/migrating/article/act-occupation-list/
  15. In order to be able to keep your PR visa, you have to live and work in ACT for a minimum period of two years. After these two years, you're allowed to move freely wherever you wish. If you don't comply, you may loose your visa. You may not have the chance to even be in Australia to apply for that 5-years RRV application. Cheers.
  16. It could be longer... I applied at the beginning of September, when the new ACT Occupational List was released, it might just happened, but I had a long list of email exchange with ACT immigration dept, regarding the whole procedure, and maybe because I sent the right papers in the right way it counted as well.
  17. Well, let's take it step by step then: in order to apply for SS in case of a limited occupation, you will need a verification email approval from them. After you get the approval, you will have to apply for SS. You will receive an answer within 6 weeks, maximum, as they state on their website, under normal circumstances. If your application will be approved, you will receive an email with your approval letter. They will forward to the DIBP the result of their outcome in the same time, which will trigger automatically the invitation to you. This scenario will happen ONLY if you completed your EOI on the DIBP website; if you didn't create yet an EOI, i really don't know how it will be done (first scenario is my personal experience).
  18. If I don't make any mistake, it is a tradies occupation, so you'll have to apply (well, your husband) to TRA (Trades Recognition Australia). The fees were raised last year from AUD300 to AUD1000 for the application, and from AUD300 to AUD900 for the review. More info you can get from here: http://www.innovation.gov.au/Skills/SkillsAssessment/TradesRecognitionAustralia/Pages/default.aspx Cheers
  19. There are 4 distinctive tests in IELTS examination, that will help the examinators to determine your ability to understand and to cope with real-life ability to communicate in English (at least they claim to, in my personal opinion it is too standardized and too within the box, if you know what I mean). These tests are: Listening (you will listen to an audio recording, and fill up a form with 40 questions related to the recording), Reading (you will have to read some text pieces, and answer again to a 40 questions questionnaire), Writing (which consists in 2 parts, one would be to write a letter of a minimum of 150 words, and the second part would be to write an essay of 250 words minimum, both on the subjects given at the time), and the final one is Speaking (where you will be interviewed and recorded by an examinator, question-answer mode for most of the time, and you will have to talk for at least 1-2 minutes without interrruption, or until the examinator will interrupt you, on a subject given) I hope I was clear and detailed enough, my experience with IELTS test was a little bit overwhelming, due to the fact that I hadn't an exam for a long time (maybe more than 15 years before...) Cheers and best of luck!
  20. Generally speaking, 60 points are enough to apply for a visa, actually it is the minimum required. BUT, due to some high demand of visas on certain skills, DIBP (immigration dept) decided to accept for these skills only from 65 points up (you can check the reports and news over here: http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/, and more relevant, over here: http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/index/reports/report-13012014/) Cheers
  21. Verification for a limited occupation - it took 2 days until I received their approval; State Sponsorship (190 visa) - a little bit over 6 weeks until approved. Skillselect invitation - automatically received upon SS ACT approval. I hope this will help. Cheers.
  22. In progress status means that it is just in progress, not that you have a CO allocated, indeed.
  23. I submitted my application on 6th of December, and they required further evidence of my relationship (as we got married in June 2013, but being in de facto relationship since 2008)
  24. I've got today CO allocated, but they asked for some more documents (I was expecting it, anyway). But still good news, they are moving
  25. Joining the gang as well, submitted on 6th of December, status of the documents from required to received on 6th of January... Waiting is killing me... Meds done on 17th of December, though they were not send electronically, but on paper (separate application). As much as I read, on 190 visa you may be forced to activate your visa from the date that you got the sponsorship. Correct me if I'm wrong, please. Just police checks left, arranging for next week to be done.
