  1. Hi swainey... I think those days are not so far you will be surrounded by lots of good friends. But right now(after seeing this post) I feel bit afraid to think what will happen to us after two months.... Soon me and my wife is going to fall on the same situation like you. Neither we have any relatives in Sydney nor I know the place. We are 30 years old and have no kids yet. With lots of dream we are going to settle here permanently by end of this October'14. Need to find a new Job, new home and making new friends (--> Toughest thing)..... So... very soon we are also joining your club .. Take care and Best of luck.
  2. This is bit surprising.... I did not get any call from my CO.... She always used email.. And used to take at least 1+ month to reply me. In this forum there are several thread where guys are crying to get email reply from CO.. Please call your CO again and ask either he is human or an Angle...
  3. Many Many congrats.... and welcome in the "Royal club of Waiting Lounge". Soon CO will send u an email by requesting all necessary docs.. prepare the PDF version of those and upload without delaying... CONGRATS AGAIN.... BEST OF LUCK
  4. Still I did not get any... Coz I returned my country and in Dec'14 may be I shall shift to NSW forever. What I need to do... complete a form ... pay the fee... submit the form and passport in Aussie VISA application process center(VAC).. 30-35 days later I shall get the passport with visa label. Check the Aussie High commission website in your country for details.. the process may vary country to country
  5. You need three things... 1) The VISA confirmation letter... 2) The printed copy of the VEVO online VISA checking page. You need to login with you TRN number and password 3) Enough confidence... and don't be nervous.. KL immigration police knows it all. but some how they try to check by making you nervous(by asking too many question). What i Did.. I directly looked at their eye and talked in smiling face.... Dont worry at all... it will not take more than 5-10 min
  6. I got a PR visa and traveled without any VISA label..... But obviously it is important and better to have a label in your passport... Other wise each time you have to tell the long stories to other countries immigration office and airline staff. "My name is .... I have a valid VISA..... Here is the VEVO printed copy...." The immigration officer will first look at you that he/she is not understanding what are you talking about... Then he/she will think twice... will take your document.. will think again... then they will check and will ask you again to explain..."(15 min) Ufffffffff... (I have just shared you my experience at KL airport :'( ) The funniest thing is, in Sydney airport the immigration officer was not totally bothered about I have a VISA or not... He took my passport and punched in electronic reader.. My details info appeared in display and he returned back my passport.... (45 Sec) Later I took oath to have a label in my passport....
  7. I have a sinking feeling that, in Sydney I shall never get the true taste of multiculturalism.. Last November, I was also attacked at Bondi Beach... And twice had to listen bad words.... [ Mother nature has given me the Primary lesson to memorize forever that I am a migrant] .... I am not sure why there is racial tension in Oz Watch the below videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hp6J6PF47CM
  8. Now I see... I was not alone... There are people who felt the same tension and insecurity after first landing in Oz Me and my wife had our first entry in last Oct'13 and stayed for 5 days and returned to home.... We are making plan to return Aus by Dec'14 permanently. But now I can't sleep, think how we will start our life there? I have no relatives or friends.... How will be the Aussie Buddies... Will they accept me as a friend? .... Twice in george street people told me... "_ _ _ _ _ _ _ Asian.." I not sure what is in my fate... But Australia am fallen love with you so am coming back to you... @Katherine... It's not possible to understand your reality from here.. But I can feel it a bit... I hope you have not loose you courage yet. You should share your thoughts with your boy friend and try figure out the best for you two..
  9. Thank you very much for the reply..... I like to explorer new places and to cook dishes.... I am an amateur photographer.. I like to capture the sweet moments in frames... How about you? Hope to meet you after we reach Sydney next time..
  10. Wow !!! Its really nice to know that you guys regularly meet in this way.... I started to count my days from now to join with you guys... Me and my wife are planning to come back to Sydney in Dec'14 permanently... Yes you are right.. "there's plenty of people to connect with depending on what you like to do and willing to try!" But sometimes I think it also depends on whether other people is also liking/accepting me or not... its a mutual game....
  11. Hello and congrats for the VISA grant...
  12. I was reading this webpage for last half an hour... http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/Australia_and_Oceania/Australia/State_of_New_South_Wales/Sydney-1869538/Warnings_or_Dangers-Sydney-TG-C-1.html I am feeling bit upset to see all of these... I am not sure whether these are true or false.. I have seen people are very friendly in there... beginning from the Airport immigration officers... Yes.. I faced some bad comments near central station while walking with my wife... A lady was loudly saying "****ing Indian" to us.... and she was trying to make us angry.. but we did not give any notice... For the second time another lady tried to say some bad words towards me all on a sudden... Is it wrong to start loving aus without being by born? God knows.... And just day before yesterday I read the below news http://au.ibtimes.com/articles/523933/20131121/belgian-tourist-sexual-assault-sexually-assaulted-third.htm#.UpJTccSVNG4
  13. Hello... I wish I could see you post just few days ago... Actually me and my wife went to Sydney for our first entry of 190 VISA. The most shocking thing is we have no relatives there.. We stayed there only for 5 days. Every day we walked a lot and explored the city, but in evening felt too much lonely... We are dreaming is it possible to make new friends in there? or to have some neighbors to celebrate coffee and BBQ together in winter evening..?? We are afraid to comeback permanently within next 9/12 months later.. Coz without jobs life is hard... but without a friend life is impossible.... Take care and best of luck for you......
  14. Hi Charl2... nice post.. I would like to share my experience. Me and my wife went to Sydney couple of weeks ago and stayed for 05 days.....We got 190 VISA... And those 05 days were the most memorable days in my life... People are very friendly.... even after arrival the Immigration officer also made little fun with us... very surprising..... We had no other options but to stay in a hotel. And it seemed to me that Hotel rent is bit higher in Sydney CBD. However it was our first entry we would like to come back permanently after 09/12 months later.... AUSTRALIA I have fallen love with you.. and am coming back to you.... Finger crossed Thank you for reading my story ....
