  1. Hi, My family and I have a 189 against my job, are my wife and kids able to enter the country before me and then I'll enter say 4 weeks later or do we all have to enter together? Cheers
  2. I got 6 out, white and co were cheapest, you can't really give a price just for the container as it's also worked out on the volume, you might only need three quarters of a sole use 20 footer, so obviously there's less time/materials to pack and move everything. Crown relo were the most expensive by far, nearly 1k more. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
  3. If your application is straight forward and you're capable of reading instructions then don't bother. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
  4. Looks like the thing to do is to create a new immiaccount, will be giving this a go tonight. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
  5. Hi, Same for me. I have lodged my visa application, even uploaded the majority of my documents but now when I try to go back in I can't log on. I've even done the forgotten username but never receive an email. The site was down for maintenance and says that for any online applications submitted before 6th Dec you have to create an immiaccount and import existing online applications into the account. Not entirely sure why or how. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
  6. That's great ty for the reassurance. Another quick one, when I log on to my application, for my wife it asks me to upload a skills assessment but I'm not claiming any points for her skills, is this just standard across all applications and you just ignore if not applicable? 7. Hi, We have submitted our visa application but do not have any medicals or police checks yet, do we wait for then to be requested? Also we haven't attached any documents (passports, birth certificates, ielts etc) to the visa application yet, how long do we have to do this? Worried we shouldn't have applied and paid before all the paperwork was ready to attach at the same time. Thanks in advance. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
  8. Hi, We have started our application and the father has given his approval, I know we need to get him to sign the 1229 form and a certified copy of his passport with this but do we need anything else? Thanks Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
  9. I'm currently at 8 weeks and counting, not hopeful of anything quicker than 12. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
  10. Got mine on Saturday too  Been practising for a week, sick of hearing people say I'll ace it just because I'm a native speaker! Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
  11. I think your end of November is ambitious seeing as ACS seems to be minimum 12 weeks at the moment. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
  12. You only submit the reference letters for jobs that are relevant to the skills assessment job code, that's my understanding anyway? I.e why submit a skills reference for a bar work job if you're getting skills assessed for a business analyst? Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
  13. I've just started practising the reading part, it's harder than you think it will be isn't it? I'm finding I'm getting 7's, but have yet to get an 8, which is what I'm aiming for. You'd think as a native speaker it'd be easy! I'm hoping if I keep doing practice papers I'll get better... Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
  14. How does this affect a 189 visa under one of the occupations listed? Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  15. The cynic in me thinks it's so expensive because it's the key part. Don't get me wrong, I'm certainly not saying people don't need agents, their experience and expertise alone would be invaluable at making a stressful process easier, but I don't believe it can't be done without one, which is a phrase I hear an awful lot. 16. My concern is the amount charged for skills assessments, this process is mainly a data collection exercise that surely the client does most of yet the fees for an agent to do this are in my opinion, astronomical and it worries me that it is the same for the rest of the process. We are still to decide on an agent. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  17. For anyone else that stumbles across this, a teacher in the UK can be used to certify documents. Finally had confirmation from ACS. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  18. Can someone please confirm that a principal is the same as a teacher? I keep finding varying views on this, some say a principal in oz is the equivalent of a head teacher, others say it is the same as a teacher. I need my ACS docs certifying, and principal is on the list of people accepted. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

Not sure what the requirements of a baker are but maybe could apply for skills assessment as self employed baker? Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

Is your wife registered as a business with regards to the cupcakes, as a Baker is on the list I believe, might be a long shot though. Others could maybe advise if this is possible... Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  21. Thanks FP I have PM'd you. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  22. Hi, I am in the process of writing my letter for my manager to sign with regards to my experience, I was wondering if anyone could offer some feedback on what I have so far. I have looked at the sample ACS provide but worry this is very minimal and was hoping someone who has been there and done that could offer some feedback. If you are happy to help them please let me know and I can send it on to you to have a look. Thanks. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  23. Have you spoken to Go Matilda? I know they are widely used and recommended and they offer a free no obligation 15 minute consultation. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  24. I believe the job is on schedule 1 so I have the choice of independent or sponsored Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  25. Hi, Can someone please advise if it is better to go for a 189 or a state sponsored visa? I have been told that I have 55 points, so will need to make the rest up, either by state sponsored or doing the ielts tests. Many thanks Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
