  1. Ieey, I feel your pain, i'm in the same boat, I only need a 7 and fail the reading every time, took it yesterday again for the 2nd time and I know ive already failed. So far: speaking 8.5 Listening 8.5 Writing 7.5 reading 6. Reading: The problem is the practice material by the IELTS in book and online form is not in the same format for the exam, it starts easy and works up to more difficult. The first 8 questions yesterday was matching headings to 10 paragraphs, which completely through me. That's twice now its started with the same format. The practice material is not a true reflection of the exam, its way more harder, There are no mock papers that even relate to that and the amount is poor. I'm losing the will to live.
  2. Hi Forum, I need some advice on my options in my quest to emigrate to Australia. My sister in law is a Australia citizen, can she sponser me to live/work in Australia without getting to the 60 points needed to apply in my own right. My wife's skill is not on the sol list but its her blood relative. Unfortunately i'm 10 points shy of the 50 required to apply in my own right and get either state sponsorship or family to make up the last 10 points. My best score in the IETLS is a average of 7.5, only failing on one subject. so I only had competent English with no points awarded. This is the only way I can improve my score, but it looks unlikely to be honest. My skill is on the SOL list. I know there have been some changes from the 2nd June 2014 from the Austrailan immigration department. Is there any hope without the 60 points. Thanks.
  3. Can anyone advise whether English tests are now compulsory for skilled migration visas. I obviously speak the language but have been told i have to sit the test. Would this be to boost my visa availability ? I would like a 189 visa so I'm guessing I may need more points by way of this test. Your thoughts would be appreciated . thanks chris
  4. Hi All, I'm new to the forum and just have a question on visa applications agents. I'm just about to start the long process of applying for my 189 visa and just wondered based on peoples past experiences which MARA registered visa Agents to use and whether it matters which country UK or OZ they reside. Concept Australia, Go Matilda, Expert Visa's and Ian Harrop Associates are to name but a few. I just want to pick the right one really on recommendation rather than cost. Thanks. Chris
