Hi, I have a 190 visa SS from NSW as a university lecturer, I have just been out to sydney for 3 weeks to do a recki on jobs and it wasn't good news for uni lecturers, there were jobs but in very specific fields, I would say quite rare fields too, I can teach business, economics, finance, tourism, events and there was nothing for me, however I did look at tafe and they had opportunities for my field, however it's a college level not uni, the pay was $75 per hr so quite good but posts were quite far from the city. Just might want to be sure you can find work before you pay the money if you need to work once there. good luck, jojo x

Hi, my children are 5 (just), 3 (4 in aug) and 5 months. My 5 year old is in school here in UK, my 3 year old is in pre school at same school as 5 yr old but only for 3 hours a day and of course the baby has to go to private nursery. We have 190 visas and have just sold our house v quick and are thinking of when to go to oz, we don't want to take the 5 yr old out of school and for her to be at home in oz for a while as she is thriving so we are thinking if we have read it right that she will start school in January 2015 in oz, age 5 ( nearly 6) is this correct or could she start earlier ? Is there anything before school that's part of curriculum eg pre school? What options would be open for my 3 yr old? Or would be home with us until he turns 5/6? Thanks in advance jox

It's a service, we are a service economy and there's demand so you supply, nothing wrong with that, however for me and in my opinion the cost is too high for this service, a service which does what I could do myself, that's it. Also this site is full of people who also have extensive knowledge and who are willing to impart.

I did make a change, I could back up my points with a work reference, the confusion was with vetassess, obviously if you claim points you can't substantiate then you'll come unstuck, I didn't so I was fine. Imagine paying £10k and getting refused..nothing is guaranteed..

We, well i, completed the 190 visa without an agent, found it very straight forward, if I was unsure I asked on here and got the answer I needed, personally I think agents over complicate so you use them, understandable but definitely not the case for us. Got he grant with no questions asked. Save your ££££ for moving!

We had ours at the bridgewater Manchester too, also on 3rd jan, moobobs, were you the family we spoke to in waiting area, are you going to Perth? Dr had a good poke about, X-ray & blood test fine. Took 2 hrs for all 5 of us. jojo x

If anyone knows some good websites where Australian jobs are posted would appreciate it if you could share. We have a visas but prefer to look for jobs first before taking the leap. thanks jo

Yes I can see the grant letter in my immi account, and I also got the same letter emailed to me too. I am sure there is just a clerical error somewhere

We are NSW sponsored, applied 12 nov, heard nothing at all, uploaded last docs 6 jan (medicals) and got grant today.

We applied 12 nov, uploaded docs gradually, last ones were medicals which were loaded on 6 jan then got the grant today, so 8 weeks all in all. Started process with IELTS April 2013, so 9 months start to finish.

Got the grant today, woohoo. Can't quite take it in. We did it by ourselves, no agent so new I could have made a mistake but hey ho, all good. Will be looking at flights later. Good luck to everyone else . Jo c

Thanks, I followed the link and logged in and my details were there but no info on actual medical. when I clicked print info sheet it didn't do anything either! :mask:

Had our medicals done 3rd jan and the clinic said they would upload themselves, we haven't been able to see this, we rang and they said you won't see it. However in the lodgement where you are asked to upload docs the health is still set to recommended rather than received, whereas everything else is set to received. Also at the bottom of each form where it once said organise your health & contained a referral it now reads "No health examinations are required for this person for this visa subclass based on the information provided to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection".. Anyone had this ? I a thinking bad news is on its way !!! Advice greatly appreciated thanks jo

Really pleased for everyone but feeling pretty disheartened as we lodged 12 nov and heard nothing, ok we only laded meds on 6 jan but expected at least a case officer by now! Does anyone know the best way to get in touch with them to see what's what & whether we are anywhere close to getting somewhere ?

What's form 80 for?

All uploaded for us, no change from in progress though..no case officer:mad:

We've done police checks and uploaded all docs, booked medicals for 3rd jan which is all that is outstanding, no case officer allocated as yet.
