I've always enjoyed it, there was one particular episode a year or two back that was (from what I recall) a northern Dr, that actually traced some of his roots to a statue in Perth and went back to honour it, just made me think what a gent he clearly was not just for the work that he did but in life too, he's someone that I would enjoy meeting and it'd be a honour to buy a pint or two for people like that The reactions of families makes me smile though, I have to skip past it now because its a well-known personal sacrifice that is different for everyone and I don't really see the point of airing that part

I note that Managing Director is on the CSOl list? How is this defined? I have been an MD for my own company since 2006, with a big turnover business in the first several years, then more lately a smaller consultancy based role for the past couple of years Could I perhaps use this entity to be able to buy a business in WA and then go and work and run it? Maybe, I've been enjoying 15% for the past 9 months, lets see how long it lasts, although 8% is guaranteed as it has contacts in place already, its now CLOSED to investors as they are over-subscribed, so I am now realising that if you sleep on legit businesses you lose out

Hi We didnt pursue the NT application further Also, regional visa wouldnt be ideal as the business is based in Perth and the franchises are dotted around there too

I have seen a business I REALLY want to purchase and run in WA Its a master franchise, existing business with a small number of franchisees under its belt Can I simply buy the master franchise and go and work in it? We've just received the statement to commit to NT and it says the 489 is not transferable to any other state!

I have a 489 and job offer, but now the Mrs is getting nervous because its limits us to NT and a Regional area My wife is concerned what happens if things dont work out in NT because she wants some security We've signed a doc to say we are committed to NT, but whats the process if that all falls down, for example, the Mrs turns around after a few/weeks months and says she hates it there? Could we try somewhere else regionally or is the process WAY too slow? Thanks in advance

Trust me, sort the issue out first then rediscover your plans If you did leave, you will (eventually) regret leaving in such circumstances for the rest of your life Life is about compromise, you will feel so much better, and able to make some decisions if you tackle the 'issue' head on... Short term pain for long term gain, and all that!

The 'boom' has definitely gone in some areas, although they were riding on a crest of a wave for some years Perhaps look at it as an opportunity depending on what currency that you are reliant on, UK versus Oz $ seems depressed pending euro debate which isnt helping people with UK money

Hi Matt You have a 'moral' obligation to stay in NT Legally you have every right to say that NT no longer suits you and you want to move to another state The big question is though, how does that help you down the line You do sign a statement saying you will commit to NT but it is NOT legally binding You have a moral versus legal dilemma!

The price of groceries bothered me when I was over on hol at xmas Of course, its dangerous doing comparisons with low UK prices, but when the same product costs 3-4 times that of the UK prices it has got me thinking Is there really a better way to shop for these branded products in Oz? or, is it better to find an unbranded equivalent Does the price of groceries affect you?

Hi everyone We are thinking on a long hol around July/August time Whats the weather like? I can see typical temperatures and rainfall figs which look a bit doomy, but from a practical point of view, is it still shorts and T-shirt type weather or is that time of year too unreliable to depend on good enough weather to still do outdoor type stuff?
