I have been looking at areas to live in for some time, was looking at some of the obvious areas closer to Perth until I checked out house prices and rental prices! So, we have to scale back our thought process a little (I also need to buy a business) I started to look at Mandurah, which I had never considered before, and was pleasantly surprised from my research and the reviews I found, it seems to be vastly different to the last time I went there many years ago Whats the opinion of people who know it better- 'warts an all'

Hi everyone Having visited Oz every couple of years, I "thought" it would be no great surprise that we would one day move there My wife's family have been very supportive from day one (maybe they cannot wait to see the back of us!) However, friends have been a completely different story, this came to light over the last week as we sold our house and confirmed we were off in the summer, I was amazed that we had everything from- 'oh' to 'why do you want to move there' to being completely blanked I would have thought it would be the opposite (friends supportive/ family in denial) Was this your experience?

Thanks for the replies so far, I had to ask because I know a family that struggle, but survive on around $50k, yet another one, that seem to live a similar lifestyle struggle on 170k I guess its all down to lifestyle choices

Hi everyone Been reading the forum with much interest, keen to know, from your own experiences, what level of income you would say is 'healthy' By that, I mean that we are not extravagant, but we like to have a nice home, eat out probably once a week, takeaway once a week etc etc I was thinking around $100k PA seems sort of OK for a 4 person family Thoughts?

Hi Is anyone able to advise whether there is a demand for an Optical Dispenser job in Perth? (or surrounding areas) I have vast experience, being a previous UK practice owner for several years, former technician and area manager etc What are typical pay scales?
