  1. My OH is a carpenter and it only took a few months from sending the paperwork and being assessed. Surely it would be better doing it now.
  2. It is well worth doing the IELTS again, my OH did it 3 times before getting the score for 20 points.
  3. I am very confused because we asked the exact same thing and we were told you couldn't claim the points for the certificate, only the points for experience.
  4. I have just noticed on the November lodged gang that someone's visa has come through today, so hopefully we are looking at a 2 month wait!
  5. I never thought we would ever get to this stage, but I have just submitted our visa!
  6. Thank you very much for that. I will submit our application tomorrow.

    EOI points

When you have completed your EOI but before you submit, does it tell you how many points you have? We say we have 60 so I wouldn't want the system to say a different amount.

    EOI query

We are finally in a position to complete an EOI. Under education history, when it asks 'has the client ever completed studies at secondary level or above', does this mean A levels. I am unsure because you don't get any points for GCSE's or A levels, I am a bit confused. Also they are not in the drop down list. My OH is self employed since 2005 with no qualifications & the assessment authority took 3 years off for on the job training, so I am not sure what to put in employment history because I don't want them to think we are wanting more points that we are not entitled to. Any advice would be great.
  9. I have been on the TRA website & you choose 1 of these for carpentry assessment, you don't actually choose TRA. 10. Hi my OH is a self employed carpenter & went through vet assess for his assessment. He has no qualifications & they used 3 of his years as on the job training. I can't remember the reason why we didn't go through TRA but my OH has now got a certificate in carpentry following his assessment.
  11. Thank you for the link. That info has certainly answered our question.
  12. Thank you so much for that info. We were feeling quite down hearted up until now. We really appreciate your reply.
  13. We only have 60 points and can't get anymore. How many of you have put in an EOI with 60 points and received an invitation quite quickly? We have been told that the EOIs with the higher points get invited first. Is this correct?
  14. My husband has had his occupation assessed by vet assess. Just looking through the info booklet to make a visa application, am I reading it right, that all the paperwork we sent to vet assess to prove his self employment, do we need to include it in the visa application once been invited? Or do they just accept the letter we received from vet assess stating how many years experience in nominated occupation? Any advice would great. Thank you.
