  1. I have now had my 3 quotes and am trying to decide between Anglo Pacific and Pickfords. I'm leaning more towards Anglo Pacific but there is quite a difference in the quotes, Pickfords being the cheaper of the two, but I have concerns regarding information I have been given about them going into administration. If anyone has had experience with the two good or bad, please can you advise.
  2. Please can you let me know the name of the rougue company, need to ship my things soon
  3. can ask which shipper you used? I have had problems with the one I selected - but thankfully they haven't collected my shipping and I've not paid them anything so now looking for an alternative shipper
  4. How quick did they come out? I was going to use PSS as initially seemed very customer focussed, helpful and friendly - even agreed to come and requote as I was not happy with the initial quote due to items being muddled up on the two quotes provided, plus I changed my mind on what i wanted to include, now that I am ready for a requote they have decided they will not come out and requote as my consignment is not large enough! I've now lost confidence in them due to being told one thing and then another
  5. Be very careful with Emirates - i contacted them prior to flying in December to ask about carrying a laptop in addition to 7kg hand luggage. They told me fine no problem but when i checked in the checking staff were going to charge me over £120 to take it!
  6. Did you book through Singapore direct - or through an agent? I'm finding booking through an agent rather than direct with the airline is cheaper? But then can you contact Singapore and get the additional luggage allowance? I am flying on a government sponsored 190 migrant visa
  7. I am looking at this now. I plan on flying to Perth in August at some point [most expensive time of year I know!], I have previously flown with Emirates but found the customer service appalling and have had two broken seats on flights that caused me an injury and they have done nothing about it so I am trying to avoid Emirates and Dubai. So it looks like I'll be better off flying with, Singapore, BA or Quants but their tickets seem to be a lot more expensive anyway? Would I do better waiting until nearer the time and trying for a cancellation?
  8. I booked with them for my flights in December/January. Very poor customer service and slow to respond to questions, so I too was worried after paying out over £1000 but I did get there and back!
  9. Thanks Bhupendra. The whole process took me just under a year. My skills assessment was submitted at the end of March last year and came back positive on 14/08/12. I then resat my final IELTS exam on 15/09/12 (after 2 previous attempts as I needed a 8's for my visa points). WA sponsorship and EOI was submitted on 01/10/12. The sponsorship was granted on 11/10/12 and visa invite received on 12/10/12 and was submitted on 16/10/12. My caseworker was allocated on 31/10/12 and I also had my medical on that day. Police checks were uploaded on 16/11/12 and visa granted on 02/02/13. I used a migration agent though and understand it does take a little longer if you do. I also spent most of December out in Australia so think my application may have been put on hold while I was there. Caseworker was LZ from Team 33 in Brisbane. Kind regards Janette
  10. Hi Jenny My visa has just been granted so I am about to start planning the big move
  11. Hi I finally received my email today - Visa granted (at last). Now the planning can start!
  12. I am English and had to take the test 3 times to get the extra 20 points for my visa. I was advised by my migration agent that the extra points would help. The first time (Rugby), I took time out for a comfort break and lost time so only got 7.5 on the second paper due to rushing it. The second test was taken in Bristol, but due to disruptive noise outside and invigilators talking to each other and interuptions from them I again only got 7.5 on the second paper. The third time I retook the test in Rugby and passed with 8.5's/9's and an overall score of 8.5. If you will be 5 points short without the 8 I would advise going for the dyslexic report. I would also recommend maybe taking some tuition. I paid for an hour of private tuition after the second test, to get some pointers in how to improve my score. I also purchased some books with mock tests which I am now looking to sell for approx £30 if you're interested.
  13. Hi Jenny I will be moving to Perth sometime this year. Initially I was moving in with my boyfriend who is near Beechboro but have just spent a month out there and things didn't go so well, so I will be going it alone I think when I get there. I am going to try and find work before I fly out though, but would be great to meet up when I do eventually get there.
