Did they at least email you or was a lot of time wasted on snail mail? Would hope they at least use email. I set up a Gmail account for Mum who's the main applicant and taught her how to use it with great success recently. Dad's Gmail account on the other hand is still gathering dust...

Well done Mom. Come on Dad, we are all watching you now. xD

    Thank you @Kathss56

Pomsinoz now has their very own Visa Timeline Tracker. It has taken many stressful months working with developers in creating a platform which would coexist with Pomsinoz and be user friendly as well as site secure. Our developers evaluated a number of other visa tracker sites out there and found that most of them were unsecure when it came to protecting their members data.

We are pleased to say we scored an A+, I wish I could have said that whilst I was studying.

Please feel free to add your timeline below. Eventually this will all be integrated in to this forum creating one large platform for people moving to Australia.

Well done! Thank you so very much. This is just brilliant.

  3. Hi Guys and Gals

Just thought I'd check in again on the tracking site to see whether any problems after registering. I thought , after logging in, that I also seemed to have a problem but then clicked again and I was signed in. Then I clicked again on the 143 visa and then again on the little arrows on the top where it says date lodged and there it was!! All sorted in date order and only 143 visas! Magic.

  4. @Catlady2014 perhaps things work out for the best in the end anyway, I don't know when along this route I started losing the faith, perhaps after month 25, but now we were SOOOOOO ready, everything in place, house sold, hubby's contract nearly over, Boxes packed......... only thing we need is the visa now. But I will keep the faith, try to stay strong. Thank you so very much for all your support in this forum.

You can add me too please (on behalf of my parents!!) Also, can anyone else comment on whether it is sufficient for me to be aos for both of my parents - or whether I should include hubby too?

It all depends on your income @Nicole Eire

The exact same happened in my situation when my daughter and family all became citizens but my agent said it wasn't necessary to inform DIBP.  However, if I had been handling the application personally, I think I would have informed them anyway.

@Catlady2014 Did it turn out to have held your process back because you didn't advise PVC of your child's change of citizenship ? Did they request you to do anything before the AOS or anything else could proceed?

I assumed that Aus's systems are so effective, that once granted citizenship, it should automatically be picked up on all information pertaining to his previously held PR visa?

Please, I did ask Immi and received a vague reply from them to either fill in form 929 or 1022 (none of which seem to require any info from the Assurer to be changed), but can not for the life of me, find the correct procedure for the assurer to update his citizenship status and it does not mention anywhere on the form 40

that DIBP should be informed of such changes regarding the sponsor. I am just assuming that on our form 80 , we need to update the correct information and he, in his application at Centrelink needs to update his information. Any advice?

Should he perhaps just waltz into a Centrelink office and do the enquiry? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

Yes i know what the difference is between the lodgement and acknowledgement dates.

My lodgement date is as stated in the original post.

Thanks a lot. Just needed to confirm. Must admit, I am really confused about the whole process now. Perhaps @Alan Collett can shed some light on it for us please? I thought it was strictly according to lodgement date?

Just got our request for documentation (Lodgement date 18/03/2015).

Here's hoping we get a case officer before the new year.

Are you sure about the lodgement date? Are you not perhaps quoting the date on which you received acknowledgement of first VAC payment?  It would be a first I think for Immi to not process an application according to lodgement date. Remember your lodgement date is not the date on which you received acknowledgement of payment of the first VAC but the date on which Immi first received your documents which usually is an earlier date.

So pleased for all those with their visa in such close sight - every good wish to you all!! For those of us left in "the waiting room" commiserations!

My other half seems to think that he read or heard somewhere that the reason there was such a backlog of 143 applications was due to a large volume of applications in 2014. Does anyone know anything about that? I appreciate there's only an allocated number of visas granted per year, but how do the numbers applying stack up against those numbers? I suppose what I'm hoping for is a quicker turnover than we've seen this last year. Anyone know anything or have an opinion even?!

I think they ran out of visas because of the demand in that particular year..  so part of the next years visa allications had to be passed on to this year. But things are looking a bit better .. in my own humble opinion. Great job, Immi!!
