  1. I am sorry would it be possible to ask just one ore question. My son has just come to me and says he would like to take a semester off from uni and do some courses at a place that offers accredited courses (its a community owned not for profit Adult & Community Education learning centre) is that acceptable to still be considered doing schooling to be a dependent? Or does he need to stay in uni? I am dumbfounded as he has just hit me with this.
  2. Richard, thank you very much for your reply. I did not realise all of that. I will definitely stick with "on books" employment as I definitely do not want any problems. Thank you again.
  3. I was granted my 820 sept 2013 and was eligible and submitted required documents sept 2015 for my 801 in which my son is included on it with me. We are still waiting for an answer from immi if we are approved. My son is a full time uni student. He has an on the books job working one day a week just so he has some spending money. I work at a job which is on the books during the week but off the books on the weekends. My husband (sponsor) works a full time on the books job making good money. I/we pay for my sons school, basic living expenses and he lives with us. I have been offered another job (in which jobs where I am at are very hard to come by- been trying for new job for a year) however the new job is strictly off the books. Work conditions at my current job that I have been at are not good and I really just want to get out of there. Someone (i think on a forum) mentioned though that it might not be good to take off books job as I would have no proof of working and then my son might not be considered dependent anymore and we might get denied pr because of it? So I am torn on what to do if I should take new job or would that jeapordise anything in regards to getting our pr? Does it matter if I have off books or on books job? Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  4. Neenie- sounds like you are going through something similar. It is just disheartening and it seems like these people don't even care whose lives they affect. I hope things work out soon for you too. I am trying to stay strong and positive but it is just so hard. It seems as if nothing ever works out
  5. Was told my child and I could do our medicals. We then got sick and had to postpone for two weeks, then I had to request my Hap id # to e-health file as it was missing from the email I got from my co. So I got that... went to make appt for both of us and found out number was only for me not for my child. So, contacted immi again and within a few days they sent Hap for my child. This whole period wound up being approx 2 weeks trying to get these stupid numbers.....Tried again to make appt for us both... Dr can't find my child in the system. They tried for three days so with no luck so I contacted co again and she just tells me today because there is a technical glitch in the system with my child, I can e-health file, but my child will have to be filed by paper... This is going to add 4-6 weeks to our processing time according to what I was told!!! Which ok, maybe is not a big deal to some but to me is as I have not seen my partner in person for a year now... We are going to miss holidays, etc together. I cannot believe that even though I have this number I can't use it and no can can manually add him into the system. It was just oh there is a glitch and you can efile but for them you will have to paper file...
  6. Hi, sorry this is not an answer to your question but I was wondering if you wouldn't mind saying... What was the medical like? What kinds of questions or tests did they do? Did they check your abdomen for lumps, take blood, check eyesight, that kind of thing?
  7. Thanks This whole process is just so stressful and it says that the sponsor is supposed to fill out the 40sp form so that's why i am freaking out. But he did sign it.
  8. My fiance and I filled out our applications together over skype. I am the applicant and he is the sponsor. He had me fill out everything as I write neater and then he went ahead and signed the last pages of the applications and sent them to me ( I am currently not in AU). I am so worried now that because the 40sp (sponsorship form) is in my handwriting we are going to get denied. Does anyone know if it is ok that I filled it out but he signed it..
  9. Does anyone know if you have a PMV processing and you go over to AU on an ETA visitor visa... Do you have to leave to go back to your own country when the visa is ready to be granted or can you just go out of AU to like New Zealand or somewhere? The application is being submitted from the US. We want to be together for Xmas so was going to go over on ETA. Would I have to leave and go back to US or could I just go to New Zealand if/when it is approved? Or would it be better to go over on ETA, leave AU to New Zealand and file from there? Other thing that has been suggested to me is to go over on ETA, then toward the end of the 3 month apply for extension (I think was e676?) get married then apply for partner visa. Idk what to do. Any thoughts? Thanks
  10. Has anyone used or heard of My Australian Visa? They seem to be reputable as far as being registered and at least one of the agents is registered as a solicitor in AU...
  11. Thank you. One more thing I am confused about is for the dependent... It has been said that if over 18 they must be a full time student (presumably, I would think, will be in their home country) and be substantially reliant upon parent for basic needs. If the child is attending school full time in the country they are from what happens if the visa gets approved for spouse visa and the child is approved too as a dependent. Does that mean they then have to continue education in AU at a college there after being approved or they no longer have to complete school (or would they be able to complete college from their home country online?) Honestly I don't think I could afford to send him to college in AU from what I have been told about prices for international students
  12. Hope this isn't too confusing. LOL. Cause I know I am sooooo confused  Anyway, I was just wondering if you have been approved for PMV does that mean when you apply for the second stage which is the spouse visa it will go off of your pmv and you don't have to apply like you are starting from scratch? I guess what I'm getting at is once approved for PMV will you be approved for spouse one once you have been married and apply? Also, Does anyone know if once a dependent is approved with applicant's PMV will they automatically be approved for the partner visa as well, including if they are 18 or older, if that's approved or is it like starting over? How does it all work? Anyone been through the process, especially with dependent 18 or older? Thanks so much for any replies
  13. Thanks for the reply. I have actually been trying to find an agent that won't charge me 200 dollars to ask that question. I don't mind paying but I think 200 is a lot for one question. It is very confusing because even on other visas to move there it says you can include them as dependent as long as they are attending full time school, etc. Ok but what happens when u get approved? Do they no longer have to attend or must they go to a school in AU? What if they want to finish at the school they started in? There is no other way to do that but online at that point.. Anyway, thanks again.
