  1. Hi there, we have permanent residency already and I'm still registered with APRHA from when I worked in oz on a work holiday visa. Essentially all ready to board a plane and start work. I have heard that they don't recognise your previous courses or experience and are unlikely to offer a job at your current band. I would find it hard to drop a band professionally and financially. Yes Fiona Stanley due to open early 2014 but no jobs advertised yet and they will be getting a lot of staff from the other hospitals that are down sizing. Are you going with partner and kids? Does partner have a job lined up?
  2. Hi, Looking to move out to Perth in the not to distant future. Has anyone recently been interviewed or know of difficulties for nurses from the UK getting jobs? Does any one know what the equivalent to a Band 7 would be in Oz? And what kind of questions can you expect at interview? Would love to hear from you.
  3. Hi all, Also require some help with searching for jobs. I am a Band 7 A&E Senior sister here in the UK, what kind of job could i realistically apply for in Australia. I have been nursing for 12 years now. Many Thanks in advance.
  4. Hi there, Just out of interest which company is the 40 ft cube with? and is the cost weight dependant or can you fill it up as much as you can get in?? Roughly how much is the cube if you don't mind me asking? Just got visa granted so moving on to the next step deciding what to take with us. Where are you heading to?
  5. Yipeteeeeee do daaaa, yipedeee ayyyyy, My oh my, my Visa got granted today. :em3600:
  6. Hi, Were hoping to move out to perth early next year. (myself, partner and 4 yr old son) Would love to hear how you found everything. I spent 4 months in Perth back in 2002 while backpacking around Australia but guess all will be different this time round. How did you find getting accommodation when you first arrived? Did you rent? If so how easy is it to get sorted?. What area are you living, and whats it like? Have you managed to make friends easily and also groups in which you go to with your daughter? Sorry there are so many questions I would like to ask.
  7. Oh no, so sorry to hear that, can you not ask case officer if you can apply now for state sponsorship? Keep hearing lots of people who have used agents have been given misleading information, it's really bad considering you have to pay them quite a lot of money, I would be furious as you probably are! Hope you can find a solution to this and it's sorted soon. Let us know what happens.
  8. Same here, CO has requested I do an AFP police check even though I only spent 11 months in total in Australia. Have emailed CO but reply can take up to 7 days so worried in case I miss the 28 day deadline they have given to submit this information! I am going to wait there reply as I don't believe I need to do it. Does any one know if we have requested police checks / medicals before the 28 day deadline but still awaiting appointment or results that will be ok or are they going to reject my visa?
  9. Thanks for this, I will try scanning 1 last time at a higher dpi, and if not will go to staples. yes they are the older p60s from back in 2003. x
  10. Hi all, Need some help, trying to scan in some pay slips and p60's that case officer has requested. Once scanned writing is very faint, any idea how to enhance the quality. Cant change dpi as immigration only allow 96dpi. Worried now as they want this evidence!
  11. Hi there, Where did you take your medicals? I'm in London so hoping will be able to get quick appointment. What job do you do? Where in Perth are you planning? We're heading to Perth also, loved it so much when out there before. Can't wait.
  12. Hi there, I would call the place back you had meds to double check they have uploaded them all. Heard someone else with similar problem and the place hadn't uploaded the other applicants which resulted in a delay for them of a considerable time frame.
  13. Babloo, congrats on the case officer and wow speedy or what on booking those medicals. What team have you been allocated? Wonder why 70 day?? Do you have other documents to submit apart from meds and pcc? Keep me posted.
  14. Hey Mel, How soon once you request medicals can the clinics fit you in? Are we talking days or weeks? I know everywhere will be different, but roughly. Will be 2 weeks until the 3 of us have time off together to go. Do you think once we book, if there not done within 28 days we will have a problem. Worried in case it's rejected if we can't get them done in time. Sending police checks tomorrow! X
  15. Congrats, keep us all posted on when you take the move and maybe can give us some more pointers about life down under. :em3600:
  16. Congrats mel, how speedy was that. Looks like you can make plans for your January trip now. :em3600:
  17. Babloo, i felt exactly the same as you, people around me were getting case officers and I wasn't but it happened for me yesterday so im sure you will have in the next few days. Wishing you luck. Where are you heading and what job category?
  18. Hi all, Co allocated today. wooohooo! Meds and Pcc requested, also Australian Federal Police check requested. Not sure this will be back in the 28 days time frame, also not sure if will get the medical done in time as due to be out of the country on holiday. Does anyone know if we have requested them and have proof of sending off for Pcc and meds that we will be ok?? oh the stress!
  19. Hi Mel, Great news on your medicals and police check. Woo hoo hopefully not long now before that magic grant. Sadly still waiting on a case officer, am getting more paranoid by the day! Nat. X
  20. I think I am being paranoid or thinking they have lost it as application submitted on 26th June and others have got CO that applied after! Where did you have medical done? Was it in Ireland ? My friend just had medical here in uk and it cost him £340! Not sure how much for kids but I think it's going to be nearly £1000 for the 3 of us! Exciting for you as soon as your police checks are back and meds all cleared the magic visa should be on its way to you.
  21. Hi ohhh heck, Already have nurse registration from when I worked in Australa back in 2002. Glad I kept paying the fee and at least reduced the paperwork side of things! Exciting times for you, let's hope Aphra comes through quickly when you apply and you can make the move soon. When are you hoping to go? What area of nursing are you in? Have you looked for jobs in oz yet?
  22. Im a nurse and were thinking of heading out to Perth. Where are you handing to? How do they notify us? I know by email but am worried it will go into junk mail and I'll miss it or accidentally delete it! Or maybe I'm just getting paranoid now!!! Keep me posted.
