AU Recruitment Agency: How likely they support offshore candidate
mahfuzul80 posted a topic in Visa Chat
Hi All, How likely AU recruiting agency may help getting job for offshore candidate seeking sponsorship? I am waiting for state government sponsorship for the occupation which requires job contract. But as an offshore candidate I am worried how to secure the job. Can anybody suggest any good/authentic recruitment agency in WA? Thanks in advance! -
Hello Everyone, I have just signed up on here, hoping for a bit of clarity really. I saw another thread about another British Cop with 16 years experience looking for work but I can't view the post for some reason. Long story short, I have traveled round Oz at the start of this year and fell in love with the place, big time. I have 6 years experience as a Police Officer included some specialist skills/national qualifications in different fields. I also used to work in the Mental Health Service and can bring to the table a lot of varied experience and skills, but like the majority of Cops, not many qualifications recognized outside the Police Force. I am willing to do pretty much any job - ideal dream job would be an RSPCA Inspector but the research into that and speaking to some members of senior management made it clear they prefer Australians for the job and wouldn't support Visa's etc. I've looked into other jobs such as being a generic Private Investigator but there is education required to work right away. I have also set up my own small Aquatics business where I live, varied interests! Basically I am wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation, desperate to move, but not sure what job/field to look at?? I have and always will have a passion to hands on help people, to make a difference as cheesy as that sounds, but really at a loss as where to even start, the only certainly is Australia, preferably NSW, Brisbane, well general east coast area but I really don't mind. Can anyone offer any support or guidance? Thank you so much, really would appreciate any feedback. *edit* No I dont have a visa, looking to relocate and a career change but can see that doesnt seem to be an option...

Not elligible for Working Visa, no money and living with partner
MissMyMum12 posted a topic in Careers and Vacancies
Hi there Met my partner in March 2012, in Sydney. Went back to the UK, re-visited for 3 months, back to the UK, now back in NSW and on 12 month tourist visa (Expires July). As of 2 weeks ago, i am officially broke. I cannot work as i am 33, do not have a skilled profession and have no money to re-train for anything. Getting married is not an option and i cannot afford the cost of applying for a de-facto visa, that would grant me the right to work, even temporarily. Has anyone been in this position? Do you have any suggestions? I miss working (for my own sanity and a healthy social life outside of my partner) and would relish the opportunity to earn some money. Going home seems the only alternative and this, of course, is heartbreaking. Can anyone help???? :ssign16:- 13 replies

UK Newspapers - suggestions for posting job adverts for Australia
Guest posted a topic in Aussie Chat
It's been a long time since I was back in the UK and I would like to ask advice on UK newspapers. I am going to place job adverts for Australia and would love advice on which papers you guys and girls feel would be best. The Jobs are all for Caterpillar Fitters or Caterpillar Diesel Mechanics, I am prepared to interview in Manchester, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Dublin, Reading and London. I want to reach people that have exp on Caterpillar machines and who want to live in Australia, the jobs offer permanent Australian residency sponsored by employer, we will pay all visa fees, all migration agents fees, the air fare, we offer a relocation payment, house rental allowance to get settled in Australia and full intergration assitance with getting settled, all paperwork such as banking and if required schools and sports clubs etc. There are no fees or charges at all to applicants at any stage, we pay for everything. Starting pay rate is around 18 Pounds an hour and rapidly increases as the worker completes company training modules (no charge for any training), most of our fitters earned 100,000 pounds last year with allowances and overtime etc. So any suggestions for the right UK and Irish newspapers, forums or social websites to get the message out there? My team and I will be in the UK and Ireland in May to conduct the first round of interview and information sessions regarding the job and Australia. Final interviews will be in June, ETA in Australia will be Sept / Oct 2010 arriving with permanent residents visa sponsored by employer. I prefer not to use employment or recruitment agencies if possible. Thanks in advance
