  1. I have heard of the PTE test, but as you said some bodies don't accept your score. So I thought it would be best to do the IELTS test. My occupation is a Plumber, so I need to do my IELTS to gain more points..
  2. Cheers, well the visa person said you need a 7 in each part, I was just thinking worst case, I could submit both result papers but you've answered my question. I better make sure I get a full house or thats another £150 out the window..
  3. Hi Everyone, I know I keep posting about IELTS, But I had a thought at work today about my IELTS results I got a L.7, R5.5, W.5, S.8.5. I am going to do it again soon and was just wondering if I got a 7 on reading and writing but say I got a lower mark for listening and speaking.. Could I submit both IELTS results to visa agent because it will show I've got a 7 or above on all 4 parts. I can't see were it states the results have to be on one result paper.. cheers Myles
  4. Also would any one else say any good books for IELTS practice tests for reading and writing. I have Cambridge English IELTS test book with DVD-ROM but it is full now.. done all tests in them. cheers Milo
  5. I need IELTS for points for my Skilled visa, then after that I have to sit my vetassess (plumbing Test)
  6. I sat my IELTS test last month which I got a overall Band score of 6.5. One visa company said I need a overall Band score of 8. But when I spoke to another visa company they said I need a level 7 in each four parts. So when I wrote back so I need a overall band score of 7, they said no you need 7 in each.. My question is: Do all visa companies go by you Overall Band score for your IELTS test results or does some like you to get same level in each part?? Because I was told they add all four scores together e.g.: 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 = 28 then div by 4 = Overall band score of 7 Hope this makes sense, This is confusing me!! Just want a straight answers!!! Thanks Milo
  7. Hi everyone, Hope your all well. I have my IELTS test soon and I'm a bit worried about it. I have been doing loads of english test out the book and even got a teacher too. Has anyone got any advice before the big day!! I have to get a band 8,if I don't get it at least I know what band I am on. So it won't be a waste of money.. Is it as hard as they say it is?? Cheers Milo:wideeyed::elvis:
  8. If you have digital photo frame's you are taking they won't work because the transformer is in the plug, so just take the SD card.
  9. I'm taking it in Southampton hopefully..
  10. I'm just after a bit of info on the listening side of IELTS. I'm working though my book, And am having trouble writing in the answers to the question before it moves on to the next question, so I have to keep pausing it after each question so I can write it in. Am worried I will fall behind on question in the BIG TEST, Any Hints or Tips. Also which order do they go in on the BIG TEST!!! Thanks for reading this.. Cheers Milo
  11. Thankyou so much for all this info, Its been a great help and I have hopefully found a Tutor to help me study for IELTS. After reading this it has boosted my confidence to do the test with Dyslexia and knowing that you can get extra time too is a bonus save me pulling my hair out thinking I won't finish in time. Will keep you posted on how I do. And a big congrats on passing you IELTS test..

  14. Hi, I have started looking in to my skill visas, trying to sort out all the paper work for it. Anyway I sent off my Vetassess to them which I done in May 29 2012, but since I have done it the rules have changed and it only lasts 3 years. They are saying I have to retake it again which is more money going out. I look on the Vetassess website and it states any who done it Pre 2010 will have to take the full test again but then looking down the page it says if your Vetasses has expire on the time apply for visa you can re-new it for $80:00. I am confused and the only number I can find for vetassess is in Oz Any help would be great!!!
  15. Those photo's are awesome !!! Give your self a pat on the back Wish I was that good.
  16. Yep my Birthday was the Sunday 22nd, I was 25years old where does time go Well I hope you enjoy that nice cold beer and have a awesome 60th Birthday. Happy Birthday
  17. Hi Danny, When I was coming back from Oz I had a 30kg of weight of my bags and I was flying with them. They wanted to charge a stupid amount in the end I flew my stuff with DHL express and it cost me around $250 to $300 and it was a Door to Door sevice if you could not make it to the office. It took 2days to get to UK, but I flew a drill back but went with pack and send try them might be cheaper.
  18. Sad times this time last year I was sitting at the Helm bar in darling harbour in the nice hot sun, drinking nice cold beers celebrating my birthday. Well its my Birthday today and I'm back in the UK, well its pouring down with rain and very windy, so don't think I will be sitting out side but will be drinking lots of beers.

    Townsville

The main strand has a lot of pubs there, and if you catch the ferry to mag Island is lovely there to go swimming on the beaches and go to the look outs are awesome. The Harbour is not bad to have a walk round and have a swim "all good got shark net up". The main strand is about 10 to 15min drive to airport if ya jump in a taxi is to too dear. Its a 8 hour drive to Richmond plus you might see the odd camel or 12 hour drive to Mount isa and to the closes KFC once left Townsville.
  20. I lived down Ballina for 4-5months for work. I think its a great place skinners head is were i lived 5min walk to beach and 10min drive to Lennox Head whats a awesome place, not busy or too many holiday makers. I would happily live there, once I got my visa sorted be looking it to it and the house are not to bad to rent.
  21. Hi Gabrielle, Yeah any construction site's require you to have a white card to work on there sites. Course is well easy do it in half a day, I done mine in the UK up in London 3 years ago. It does not matter what state you get it for, mine was for WA but worked in Qld and NSW on the same card before you had to get a different one for each state. I tried and find who I used. All your card has Name: Card number: State: Date started:
  22. Would like to wish everyone on PIO a Happy 2015, where ever you were from on a lovely beach in Australia having a BBQ or in the UK down the pub with friends and family. Hope everyone made a New Year Resolution for 2015!! Mine is to work 2 jobs and save up plenty of money to put towards my new life down under early next year hopefully Milo 52
  23. Hi adele244, I fitted a lot in will count them up and let ya know? but must easy be over 100+. I start keeping all my boarding passes and travel passes. Well I thought if i cover most of Australia, I can pick were to live for good, just sadly did not get up to broome looks a awesome place but always next time. The place I loved the most was Lennox Head about 20mins from ballina. Lived there for 4months, 5min walk to beach and bar and not packed because not many holiday makers know about it. But also I do like living and working inner QLD on a station, way of life is just different. I got more work up north and inner QLD, if you like living in the outback. 140 a pop thats crazy, worst thing is if your born and bread in the UK you still got to do it. Have you done any practice ones yet? and is it all day and when do you get your results.
  24. Cheers pinknurse83, is there any good website to do a test paper online or just google IELTS. See Ive got NVQ 2 in english and maths would that count or still have to do the test. I am worried of not getting a level 8, how long is the test?
  25. I went to Australia with a 20kg suitcase but after a while you get fed up of wheeling the thing, so I bought a 65litre backpack and 10litre clip on bag it was perfect half the time you forget it was there but make sure you get a very good make with all the straps for round your waist and chest. And get one that opens like a suitcase not one that opens just from the top if makes sense.
