Hi Everyone, Sorry haven't been on here a while must be near a 1 year, bad me. Just got back from a awesome 2years in Australia loved every min from driving a road trains and working in the Outback and camping out. Well my plan 2 years ago was to go out and get a sponsorship as a plumber, I worked on a farm mustering cattle in NSW then for a Hay contractor in inner QLD to gain my second year they were my awesome 3months after that I headed back to Sydney and landed a job with a Civil company they fly me to byron bay way and put me up in a house to work on a site there, after the work finish there they fly me back to Sydney to work there and I did not like living there, ( I like it up north Qld) lucky was only there for a month then sadly my six months were up. So after that I went traveling for a bit done the east coast and middle , then headed back up north to work up there for a while, after finishing there I headed back to Sydney to come back to the UK but a month before I left, The Hay Contractor rang me and said I want to sponsor you. So me and him started the ball rolling then a week later the visa woman rang up and said sorry he can't sponsor you because your a plumber and he's putting you down as a farm hand that means your taking someones job any from them. Sucks!!! So back in UK now looking at going back on a skill visa, just need: police check, med, english test (whats stupid because I was born and bread in the UK) Any one know were I can do it? I would be very happy driving a tractor up and down a paddock and mustering cattle.. I have done a lot more places but had to zoom out to fit it all in.

Hi everyone, Have not been on here for a while been working out bush. Sadly my sponsor felt though over here so only got 5 months left in OZ and want to have a awesome last 5 months. See the bits of Australia and do trips that I have missed out on. I want to do the Reef, Rock and deep see fishing at Port Douglas. Did anyone do any great tours or safe in a great places. I want to start the ball rolling on getting a 189 visa get it done quicker by getting a agent. Has anyone use a good agent. I am base in Sydney, any help would be grate full. Milo

I need some information about getting a skilled visa, so gave immigration office a ring 2 hours later still on hold. So I thought I pop down there today went it said could I speak to a person I need some info on a 189 visa, he said yes went up stair same again back on a phone for half hour on hold got know where.. NEED HELP !!! Is it only me or is anyone else the same, I like to speak to someone face to face and not over a bloody phone.. My Questions I wanted to ask : 1) Can I get a 189 visa if still on my WHV visa. 2) Rough price 3) How long does it take to get one. 4) Can I only work for plumbing company's on this as my skill is a plumber. 5) can I move from state to state with this. If anyone knows anyone who I can speak to in person or on the phone and not on hold for 2 hours. I would be grateful. P.S I have been on immigration website and it just looks like a load of letters and numbers to me Thanks milo

Yeah if I could get sponsorship from QLD company that would make my day, When can you apply for permanent residency? I have heard of a skilled migration visa but does that mean I can only work for plumbing company's or any company. I thought you had to stay with the company that gave you sponsorship for a minimum of two year before changing jobs.

Hi everyone, I have been in Oz for just over a year now and I am on a working holiday visa, my plan when I came out here was to get sponsorship. I have just finish 6 months with a company who sponsor a lot of people and more than likely would of sponsor me if I payed for it. They are base in Sydney and all the work is in Sydney and to be true I do not like Sydney and don't want to be tied down here for two years. The place I would like to live is Queensland and get sponsorship there, but it is so hard to get a job there I am a plumber by trade with Oz licence. I don't mind what I do there if I get sponsorship from plumbing to working in the mines need contacts. Is there any other way of staying in Australia or should I give it a few months and ring back up my Sydney company and be tied for 2 years there. Thanks Milo

Hi Kavitha, I done my Vetassess 2 years ago for my plumbing course and I had the same problem it said complete but did not received a hard copy in the post. So I rang them and they said it was sent. In the end I waited two weeks and no paper work, so I told them I was moving to Oz next week and with in two days had it in my hand. So if it takes a long time tell them that. A hard copy is good because it lays it out in detail. Milo

At long last I am back on here The reason why is that I have been in Queensland for 3 months in the Outback working for a Hay contractor it was the awesome. when pigging,fishing, buggy racing and drove a road train.. I went travelling for 1 month done Townsvillie, Brisbane,Gold Coast and Surfers. I climbed the Q1 building 270 meters up. After getting back to Sydney I landed a job, they flew me up to Byron Bay for 4 months to work there, while up there I done Skydiving AWESOME !!! Now working back in Sydney, done a Skydive over the beach here was AMAZING now I am hooked Had a AWESOME Christmas and New Year. Hope everyone else did.. Hope I have not missed any meet ups, last one I went to was at the Slip Inn with a big Yellow Kangaroo sitting at the POMS IN OZ table. Must of been around September. long time

Just went and watch the Blue Man Group at Sydney Lyric and they were awesome, put on a great show. They play for about 90 mins and the tickets cost $75 if your in the Grand Circle seating, but if you sit in the front rows by the stage they give you rain mac's so you don't get paint on your clothes. So if anyone is free and don't know what to do for a couple of hours go and watch them. If you go before they come on stage watch the computer sign on the right hand side of the stage.. Let us know how you like it..

After being over here 7 and a half months, 3 months of that doing region work. I have landed a plumbing job about bloody time was getting worry if I had made the right choice coming out here, they supply UTE and PPE. Just went out and bought some nice new tools.. :biggrin:
