I have several irons in the fire especially art and photography, the past few days we have been getting the kids into crafting getting them to use their brains and imagination and not just festering stuck in front of screens. I found a nice little computer program that lets you make posters, yes i know i said get them away from computers but it then allows them to create away from the machines and gives them an end result. Not the greatest of site names but hey ho - https://rasterbator.net/ Our other daughter is making mosaics from rice and smashed pasta pieces.

    sponsorship without qualification?

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum. I'm currently on a *417 visa, and just completed my rural work to do a second year. I really want to get a job while I am here that will sponsor me to stay, and what I want to do is web design. However the degree (and most experience) I have is in photography...is there any possibility of me starting out with a web design internship and working my way up to a job that would sponsor me? I'm trying to organise what to do and don't want to waste my time pursuing it if it's not going to get me anywhere I've read the section on the immigration website but got a bit overwhelmed by all the information and unsure on the specifics about having a degree. Anyone with any info/experience?

I just took the plunge to upgrade to DSLR. I know there are a few good photographers on here and wondered if anyone has any good advice/tips for getting good results.... or just some cool pics you've taken and would like to share? Outside of basic kit, what would you count as essentials/really good to have extras (filters etc)? Mostly I'll be doing outdoor portraits etc but bit of everything really.

  6. Hi Everyone, I was wondering if I could ask a little favour please! I am getting married in March to my fabulous fella and we have found our photographer. They're currently running a competition to get some money off their price and a free album afterwards. I'm sure that all of you who are already married appreichate just how much costs add up, so we're trying anything we can to save a few dollars! If anyone has facebook accounts, I would be sooooooo grateful if you could go to the 'White Canvas Photography' page, 'like' it, and then write something on their wall - can be anything, but please say that 'Anna & Stuart sent you' to count as a vote for us! http://www.facebook.com/whitecanvasphotography?sk=wall Thank you so much - Hope that it was ok to post this here?! Photography Course - Brissy

Hi, I'm looking for a little feedback about a Tafe Photography course in Brisssy. Both the Southbank and Metropolitan tafes offer the Cert IV, followed by the Diploma, but can't decide on which one to choose. I have contacted both and each sounds ideal, but was wondering if one had a better reputation than the other? I'm hoping someone might have an idea regarding this. Regards Aimy

    Photographers & Photography

My OH has recently started an Open College of Arts Degree in photography. We have checked, and he is able to continue his studies from Australia when/if we eventually get there. Long term goal is to start his own photography business, hopefully over there rather than here, however this is quite a way down the pipeline yet. So I thought I would post his website on here for you to take a peek and see what you think. Would appreciate any feedback from any photographers both Home & Away (Lol! - sorry) or just people with an interest in photography or being photographed, or indeed just anyone that would like to express an opinion. Would also be interested in anyone who is a photographer and any advice they could give on getting into the industry.... Thank you. Lee Knowles Photography: Welcome
