1. What would you say your occupation is? Primary school or secondary school teacher? I think the first step is to check if your specific occupation on the Skilled Occupations List here: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/_pdf/sol-schedule1-2.pdf. When you find your occupation, contact the organization in charge of assessing your skills and find out the requirements for your skills assessment. You might want to go for independent skilled or state sponsored visa, depending on the number of points your age, years of experience, IELTS score can get you. I wish you the best of luck.
2. I'm doing it all by myself too. My fiance was meant to join me down under late next year but as it is, seems we might be breaking up. Did my medicals today so hopefully waiting for the big grant now. I'm 27 and heading to Perth.
3. Its much clearer now, sorry for the misunderstanding. As everyone else has said, speak to a proper agent, hopefully, there'll still be a way for you to apply on the new system.
4. I don't mean to demean your pain and I ask the following questions with utmost innocent curiosity. How is it you managed to make such heavy plans i.e sell your belongings, enroll your children in school in Adelaide etc without knowing or seeing the actual progress of a visa application? As with any visa application, one ought to provide heap loads of paper work whether one is applying by oneself or using an agent. How did you manage to jump to conclusions based on how things were going in the VETASSESS stage alone? Even if your agent was not phony, didn't you believe in the possibility of getting a negative assessment from the skills assessment body? I don't really understand your rationale and how you've managed to make such important decisions based on nothing really. Or am I the one missing something?
5. I agree to what they've all said as per WHV. In addition, I'd suggest you take a look at the Skills Occupations List and try and figure out which occupation best suits your ideals for a long term career and try to get jobs in that area even if it means starting at the bottom. Before your WHV expires, you should have reasonable enough experience to look for a sponsor in that occupation that might retain you.
6. LMAO! Even I get those...and I'm a straight female.
7. The only misleading thing I see is "lower cost of living than UK".
8. Applying for your 457 doesn't affect the status of your permanent residency visa, even if you've already lodged it (I think). I'd advise you to take the job offer, get the temp visa and still pursue your PR visa, as you claim to have already met the requirements. Good luck!
9. Seriously though, if someone emigrated to Australia where they have an unemployment rate of a mere 5% and is unable to get a job in two years, does that not mean the person is doing something wrong? Things can definitely not be that bad?
10. You're absolutely right! Never mind these people who think Oz is a land of milk and honey. :skeptical: You all heard the OP, get right to it at once! Withdraw all your lodged visa applications.....that way I can get a bloody case officer and I can join the suffering down under.:dull: Thank you for the information, by the way.
11.

Thanks for your kind response. I await the link <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/smile.png" alt=":)" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" />

12.

Hi Allisair, are you originally from Syria? If so, is it not categorized as a high risk country? I ask because your lodging and visa grant was so fast. Please enlighten me as I'm also from one of the countries categorized as high risk. Thank you.
