  1. Most people report if they have been requested to provide for more DOCS based on "Acknowledgement of Application Received Date" which is different from "Application Received Date". If you read this statement in the Home Affairs email for timeline update: DELAY IN REGISTERING NEW APPLICATIONS We receive a very large number of applications each week. Please allow up to six weeks from when you posted your application for it to be receipted and registered. We will send an acknowledgement email confirming we received your application after it has been registered and the 1st visa application charge has been processed.
  2. Hi Shelly. Here are couple of links for you: https://www.australiavisa.com/immigration-news/assurance-of-support-aos-income-requirement/ https://guides.dss.gov.au/guide-social-security-law/9/4/3/60 Basically the formula uses: NSA rate (New Start Allowance) https://www.humanservices.gov.au/individuals/services/centrelink/newstart-allowance/how-much-you-can-get Lets look at some examples using the rates at 1 July 2017: Annual NSA rate = $15,061.80 (use the current NSA rate) Base FTB Part A rate + FTB Part A supplement = $2,266.65 Examples: Situation (assurer(s) have children) Income threshold calculation 1 assurer for 1 adult assuree Assurer has partner who is not a joint assurer and has 1 dependent child ($15,061.80x 2) + ($2,266.65 x 1) = $32,390.25 2 assurers for 1 adult assuree Assurer has a partner who is a joint assurer and has 2 dependent children ($15,061.80x 3) + ($2,266.65 x 2) = $49,718.70 1 assurer for 2 adult assurees Assurer has partner who is not a joint assurer and has 2 dependent children. Assurees have 2 dependent children as well ($15,061.80x 3) + ($2,266.65 x 2) = $49,718.70 2 assurers for 2 adult assurees Assurer has a partner who is a joint assurer and has 2 dependent children. Assurees have 2 dependent children as well ($15,061.80 x 4) + ($2,266.65 x 2) = $64,780.50
  3. Hi Katherine. From not knowing all the detailes it is hard to explain why you havnt heard from the CO yet. Hopefully soon. But if I was to make a guess; it is possible : - 143 Applicants pay more and department may have a budget to meet so they may get to 173 little later. - 173 Temp can decide soon enough to be Perm resident. The que for that one at the moment is Sep 19??? Have you though about going for 143 after 173? Surely you will hear soon .
  4. Yes Patience is the key word. The movement in the applications processing was long due and IMMI needs to address these as they did in the email stating the discrepancy. This isn’t a bonus but a welcome recognition that IMMI hasn’t been delivering on what was promised at the time of application. Of course they make their own rules but if I was told that "most likely the application will be processed in 18 months" and then don’t hear anything for 3-4 years. This says a lot about IMMI as a department. As a citizen of this country I want to vote for a Govt which is transparent to their citizens of the issues within the Govt departments. At least that’s the hope! If someone have to wait 3 times as long for the Govt department to process something or resolve some matter that has life changing consequences. Then I would like to see who is accountable for it and this be rectified. So I say; GOD SPEED everyone
  5. So this is a bond? IF this is a bond ; how long do they keep it for?
  6. Fantastic New. Can I ask how much AOS you were required to pay?
  7. The hope is they are going to keep on processing applications. Approvals might be delayed a little because of the quota if already reached for this financial year. Also noting that immigration already specifies in their updates email about the discrepancy in processing of 143/173 Visas (this should add extra pressure in processing the applications little faster), Finally seeing the movement in applications which is acceptable at the time of application. The delay in processing cost a lot of money in arranging 600 visas, medicals, private health flights in and out etc etc.
  8. The rules is to be eligible at the time of application. But then this is more like a family reunion visa for those who can afford. You may just have to go ahead and apply. Its a long road to PR on 143 now also 50 months now.
  9. My Personal assessment. Read this: https://guides.dss.gov.au/guide-social-security-law/9/4/3/60 (for income and formula; this say max of 2 adult assuree; I dont know how others included dependent and pass AoS for 3 ppl). Maybe they had 2 assurers https://guides.dss.gov.au/guide-social-security-law/9/4/3/30 (read this for income requirements etc, also they need to show your previous years earned similar income) Example (worked on the assumption that the applicable NSA rate is $14,840.80 as at 1 July 2016): if one person gives an AoS for 2 adults the income requirement will be $44,522.40, or if 2 people give an AoS for 2 adults the income requirement will be $59,363.20, or if 3 people give an AoS for 2 adults the income requirement will be $74,204.00. I think they may not allow you to be an assurer for 3xassuree; say if you cant work for whatever reason 3 x ppl will be your dependents and hence Centerlink will have to support you. You will need another assurer it seems.
  10. is 65K before or after tax income? Do yo have other savings? like 100k+ cash, shares, or assets in OZ? I am no expert in AoS but I have been reading about it so when I am asked I can supply the right info. It is PCV 143 means Contributory Parent visa 143 ..... PVC is some new abbreviations (just to be specific) I have a feeling you will most likely fail the AoS test if it was done today for 3 x assuree AoS needs to be taken seriously. Even though she will be left there alone in your home country what you want is to do things step by step. Apply for parents and be AoS for them and possibly later get your sis here as remaining relative. If you are confident that you can make the AoS work for you then just go for it and send in a 143 app with all 3
  11. Which Visa subclass did you apply for? Which country are you originally from? How many Children were settled in Aus at the time of application? Did they have income >100K and own home? What education did your 22 year hold and what was he studying? Did you live in your own home back in your country?
  12. AoS will be when they want you to provide for evidence for it. So it will be at the time of assessment. By that time who knows what rules will apply for AoS. Maybe they will make the bond a mandatory requirement as compared to now which is discretionary. The main point is by including your sister you dont want to impact all 3 applicants. You - if single what is your income, if you live in your own home, your debts, if you have a spouse and if he/she is working, if you have any children.... AoS is becomming harder as cost of living in Australia is one of the highest in the world. Your parents 2 adults Your Sister and her circumstances. You can take a chance and just go for it.
  13. Okay! I think I understand this one now a little bit better. For AOS you need to show 2 years of income (or say last financial year and the current financial year income). Since you are already in Australia for few years and got your PR I assume you are a skilled migrant and have Australian income. So this "may not be an issue for you". But always best to ask!
  14. Just want to also add that AOS (assurance of support) - you have to consider this one also as you may need to provide AOS for 3 applicats. Check the current NSA Newstart Allowance rate https://guides.dss.gov.au/guide-social-security-law/5/1/8/20 (current NSA etc) https://www.australiavisa.com/immigration-news/assurance-of-support-aos-income-requirement/ (many good examples of AOS) From https://guides.dss.gov.au/guide-social-security-law/9/4/3/60 Example (worked on the assumption that the applicable NSA rate is $14,840.80 as at 1 July 2016): if one person gives an AoS for 2 adults the income requirement will be $44,522.40, or if 2 people give an AoS for 2 adults the income requirement will be $59,363.20, or if 3 people give an AoS for 2 adults the income requirement will be $74,204.00.
  15. Does anyone have a reference to this 2 year requirement? To be a PR for 2 years before you can sponsor? I think it may have been misinterpreted: https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/contributory-parent-143#Eligibility Be suitable to sponsor To sponsor an applicant for this visa, you must be: an Australian citizen or Australian Permanent resident or Eligible New Zealand citizen settled in Australia 18 years of age or older Usually, you would sponsor your parent for this visa. You can sponsor more than one parent. The 2 year reference I found was about sponsorship obligation: Note * If you get a criminal record you may not be an eligible sponsor and then can impact the application. https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/contributory-parent-143#When How long your sponsorship obligations last Sponsorship obligations last for 2 years.
  16. This is tricky. Now you cant just apply for your sister because she is currently dependent on your parents. CPV is for parents only ; you will have to check if you can include dependents in it. It is possible if your parents had PR already your financially dependent Sis can then apply for Visa as a dependent but I imagine she will be much older by the time your parents get PR. Perhaps remaining relative Visa. All the best!
  17. Usually more the better. But since 2 assurers mean 2 x details to be provided and its worth checking credit history of 2 people also. Earning high income is one things but having a not so good credit history another.
  18. Just reading this thread as I also applied for my parents for CPV. Hoping they will soon contact us Date of Visa Application: 29 April 2016 Date of Acknowledgement : 5 May 2016 It seems there is "some movement" now on the offshore Contributory Parent (CA143 and TU173) * Onshore Contributory Parent (UU884 and DG864) visa subclasses have been assessed up to January 2017. Onshore Contributory Parent visas lodged from January 2017 onwards are likely to take longer to process while we action offshore Contributory Parent (CA143 and TU173) applications to bring the dates back to parity. Anyone expereinced any issue in balance of family test ? We are 3 siblings (1 Citizen resides in OZ, 1 PR but left OZ since Sep'16 to stay in UK but will be back in OZ in May Next Year, 1 NZ PR)
  19. Hi Guys. If anyone can help with a questions please. I will really appreciate it. So the DATE (the most important detail) 26 April 2016 - Acknowledgement of application received for a Contributory Parent (Migrant) (class CA) Contributory Parent (subclass 143) visa. Q1. If there was an issue with balance of family. When does the department let me know? Reason I ask: My Sister left to UK the year before in Mid Sep 2015 and we are 3 siblings. Me - OZ Citizen Sis 1 - OZ Permanent Resident in UK since Late Sep 2015 has done some small trips to OZ since and has a deposit on a house since Jan 2018 (Not sure if she is considered a resident in OZ at 26 Apr 2016???) Sis 2 - NZ Permanent Resident in NZ
